Coronation Street enthusiasts reckon they've sussed out the way Billy Mayhew will bow out of the show, and it's set to be quite the tearjerker. Billy, portrayed by Daniel Brocklebank, first walked on to the street in 2014, swiftly becoming a beloved character. His journey has been peppered with intense storylines ranging from murder to struggles with addiction.
Beyond the challenging plots he's faced, Billy's romantic connections have kept viewers gripped, seeing him entangled with characters like Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) and his late spouse Paul Foreman (portrayed by Peter Ash).

Tragedy struck Billy last year with the loss of Paul, who succumbed to motor neurone disease, leaving him distraught.

In an unexpected twist, it was announced this month that actor Daniel will exit the soap following a compelling storyline yet to unfold on our screens, reports Leicestershire Live.
Coronation Street's executive producer Kate Brooks revealed intriguing details about the upcoming narrative arc that will mark the end of Billy's stint in Weatherfield.
Speaking to the Mirror, she divulged: "Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit."
As speculation mounts, the belief of how Billy will depart grows stronger amongst viewers.
Recently on the soap, as fans would have observed, Todd Grimshaw sparked a relationship with the new character Theo Silverton (played by James Cartwright), which hasn't been all smooth sailing given Theo's revelation of being a married father of two.

Theo opened his heart to Todd, revealing the harrowing ordeal of being coerced into conversion therapy by his deeply religious parents to alter his sexuality.
However, Theo's past stormed back last week when a familiar face, Noah, turned up at the Rovers and cozied up with Billy.

Struck by the sight of Noah—who works alongside Billy in the church—Theo confessed to Todd that Noah had been involved in his traumatic conversion therapy experience. Infuriated by this revelation, Todd confronts Noah, only to be appalled by Noah's unchanged stance on homosexuality as a sin.
Now, Coronation Street fans are anxious that Noah may feature heavily in the plot leading to Billy's departure from the show. Amidst online speculation on a fan page, one viewer expressed: "Why do I have a feeling this Noah fella is going to contribute to Billy's downfall and eventual exit?"
