Coronation Street fans slam Eileen Grimshaw's ‘ridiculous' exit as she waves goodbye to the cobbles after 25 years
CORONATION Street fans were left baffled by Eileen Grimshaw's emotional farewell tonight after 25 years.
Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver, told her heartbroken boyfriend George she didn't love him anymore before hopping in a cab with son Jason and announcing: 'I'm moving to Thailand.'

A cheery Eileen was waved off outside the Rovers after a few drinks with her Streetcars co-workers Steve and Tim.
Eileen was greeted to a big treat by the Street Cars drivers, who beeped as she drove away.
George was left in tears, having confronted Eileen with his suspicions that she wasn't attracted to him anymore.
George was due to fly to Thailand with Eileen - and fans couldn't believe he'd throw away the money he spent on the ticket.
Others slammed the idea of Eileen as a barmaid in Thailand, and moving halfway across the world on a whim.
'It's hilarious how they make moving so simple in soaps…
'She couldn't just up and leave to live permanently in Thailand without the correct visa,' one fan wrote.
'Can't see Eileen as a Thai barmaid,' another added, while a third joked: 'Seems they're giving Eileen a boring, miserable exit!'
Long-time viewers also felt the storyline was a letdown compared to Eileen's dramatic past.
'Remember when Eileen got her head stuck in the railings? This has been mostly dull and miserable — which sums up Eileen in recent years,' one fan said.
Even George's tearful goodbye was mocked, as one said:'George! You're not a murderer, a liar, thief, womaniser… that's why Eileen isn't interested in you, hon!'
She also made the decision to make a fresh start in Thailand after being worn down by being suspected in her sister Julie's tragic death.
In Friday's episode, Eileen's mind is turned to leaving the cobbles after hearing Theo's impassioned speech to his daughter Millie.
Theo explains to his teenage daughter, that he can't return to live with her mum, his ex, because "it didn't feel right," after realising he was attracted to men and wanted to see where is his relationship with Todd went.
George realised how Theo's speech moved Eileen and went to confront her after she'd been at the police who had just cleared her of any wrongdoing in Julie's death.
The Sun exclusively revealed in January that she had quit the show after 25 years on the Salford set to look for new acting opportunities.
'The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly,' she explained.
One of Sue's major next steps is to become a a regular panellist on after first appearing on the daytime panel show in 2023.
Sue took a break from Corrie last year to star in Sister Act The Musical as Mother Superior and appeared in reality show I'm A Celebrity in 2022.
Last year, Sue released her memoir A Work In Progress and revealed she was embracing being in her 60s.

MF Husain: How India's 'biggest art deal' buried masterpieces in a bank vault
Nearly two dozen paintings by one of the world's most celebrated modern artists - once part of a record-breaking art deal - are set to hit the auction block for the first time next 12 June, 25 rare MF Husain paintings will go under the hammer at an art gallery in Mumbai city, more than two decades after he painted them. This will be the first public glimpse of the paintings, locked away in bank vaults since 2008 after authorities seized them from a prominent businessman over an alleged loan default."It's like the paintings have come full circle," says Dadiba Pundole, director of Pundole Art Gallery, where the auction is set to be used the gallery as his studio for many of these works, part of an ambitious 100-painting series he never finished. Often called the "Picasso of India," he was one of the country's most celebrated - and controversial - artists. His works have fetched millions, but his bold themes often drew criticism. He died in 2011, aged MF Husain: An Artist's Vision of the XX Century, the 25 paintings at Pundole'a gallery offer a glimpse into his take on a transformative century shaped by leaps in technology, politics, and culture. Pundole has estimated that the auction could fetch up to $29m (£21m).This comes months after another Husain painting, Untitled (Gram Yatra), sold for an unprecedented $13.8m at a Christie's auction in New York, becoming the most expensive Indian artwork to be oil-on-canvas masterpiece had adorned the walls of a Norwegian hospital for almost five decades, forgotten by the art world, until the auction house was alerted about its presence in 2013. In a 2018 interview to author and journalist Tara Kaushal, Srivastava spoke about his stalled deal with the artist."I had planned to pay Husain for the rest of the paintings by selling the first 25. But legal complications meant that, when Husain called me in 2008 saying the paintings were ready in London and Paris, and to pick them up at the agreed price, my funds were not ready. He understood," he why Husain had chosen to sell his paintings to a person who almost nobody knew in India's elite art circles, Pundole says, "He didn't care. As long as his paintings were sold."There's no way to know how Husain felt about the failed deal or his unfinished 20th Century series - but the episode remains a striking footnote in his bold, eventful career. The 25 paintings in this series, vibrant acrylics on canvas, showcase Husain's bold style while reflecting key 20th-century events and social attitudes. One painting shows an unlikely group chatting on a bench, symbolising Husain's call for peaceful dialogue and coexistence among global painting honours Charlie Chaplin while juxtaposing a rocket launch to highlight the contrast between social and economic disparities and massive state paintings depict a world battling poverty, soldiers in trenches, and humanity confronting tragedies like World War Two, the Partition, and the Holocaust.

Major EastEnders star 'QUITS the show after three years to pursue other opportunities'
Bobby Brazier is leaving his role on EastEnders after three years. The actor, 22, joined the soap in 2022 as Freddy Slater and even won the National Television Award for Rising Star for his work on the show.
