Saaniya Chandok, Arjun Tendulkar and Sara Tendulkar. (X)
Interestingly, Arjun himself is younger than his sister Sara Tendulkar, who is two years older, making the age dynamic within the family a familiar one.
Much like his father, Arjun seems unfazed by societal expectations around age gaps in relationships.
The Tendulkar family, long admired for its grounded approach to fame, appears set to welcome a new member with warmth and celebration.
As Arjun balances the demands of cricket and prepares for a new phase off the field, the parallel with Sachin's own life journey is hard to miss.
Once again, a Tendulkar son seems ready to walk in his father's footsteps, this time, in love.

Sanju Samson left hanging in Asia Cup drama as Shubman Gill debate rages: Opener? No. 5? Or left out altogether?
Sanju Samson has become the talk of Indian cricket. On one hand, speculation surrounds his next Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise after reports that he told Rajasthan Royals he wants to part ways before the 2026 season; on the other, he finds himself in the thick of the selection drama for the upcoming Asia Cup. The selectors are expected to announce the T20I squad on Tuesday at a press conference in Mumbai. Will Sanju Samson make the India Asia Cup squad?(AP) Samson should be a certainty, having smashed three centuries in his last 12 T20Is after being backed extensively as an opener. However, Shubman Gill's recent form in the Test series against England has reignited calls for his inclusion in the T20I squad. Given that the 25-year-old is also a top-order batter, his selection could push Samson down to the middle order or even leave him out altogether — a scenario former India cricketer Aakash Chopra warned 'would not be a good story' for the Kerala star. Speaking on the selection dilemma for the Asia Cup on his YouTube channel, Chopra said: "I do not think anyone needs to go out. It is important that you keep another opener with you. India did not pick a third opener (in the T20I series against England). They were not even thinking about who would open if either Abhishek Sharma or Sanju Samson loses form. If you do not keep the third opener here, you will have to keep him in the World Cup." "However, if Shubman Gill is the third opener, do you want to make him sit on the bench? If you don't do that and play him in the XI, in whose place will you play him? If that player's name is Sanju Samson, who will keep? That is the problem. You do not see Sanju Samson batting in the middle order. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma will play at number three and number four. Sanju at No. 5? That would not be a good story," he added. Chopra further explained that if a third opener is included, it won't be at Abhishek Sharma's expense but Samson's, which would make India's recent investment in him as an opener seem wasted. The Sunrisers Hyderabad star had put on a stunning show in the home series against England earlier this year, where he scored 279 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 219.68. "If the third opener plays, he cannot play in place of Abhishek Sharma. He will play in place of Sanju Samson, and you won't see Sanju Samson playing in the middle order. Then you will start feeling that you wasted the investment you made in the last 12 matches. Suddenly, from being the opener, he is out," he said. The former Indian batter also said that Gill's ability to fit into a destructive batting template was questionable, unlike Yashasvi Jaiswal, who he felt naturally suited that DNA. "What goes agaisnt Shubman? If you want to make a destructive team, can Shubman Gill become a part of that DNA? That is the big question. Yashasvi Jaiswal can definitely become a part of that DNA, but are they thinking about Yashasvi?" Chopra observed.

Irfan Pathan reveals epic comeback that shut Shahid Afridi up during a flight in Pakistan: 'He has eaten dog meat...'
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan also revealed how he had taken offence to Shahid Afridi's 'fake Pathan' jibe that was aimed at him during an interview with Harsha Bhogle, the comment ultimately inspiring him to dismiss the ex-Pakistan captain 11 times. Irfan Pathan has had quite the connection with Pakistan. As a player, it was against this very team that he had collected a Test hat-trick in Karachi in January 2006, becoming only the second Indian to achieve the feat. And since hanging up his playing boots and picking up the commentator's mic, the 40-year-old is known for his occasional jab at India's padosiyon on social media. Turns out, Pathan had quite the fierce rivalry with former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Shahid Afridi as well. It was, after all, a rivalry that was ignited by Afridi comment in an interview with eminent broadcaster Harsha Bhogle, in which he had labelled the left-arm pacer a 'fake Pathan'. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The comment fired Pathan up to the extent that he made it a point to dismiss him every time the two came face to face on the cricket ground. The result? Pathan ended up dismissing Afridi 11 times during his nine-year international career. More from First Cricket News Pathan makes stunning U-turn after supporting Rohit during viral interview in Australia: 'If he was not captain...' How Pathan hit back at Afridi with 'dog meat' jibe It's not just the ball though that Pathan has done the talking with. In an interview on Lallantop, the cricketer-turned-commentator revealed how he had shut Afridi up while the two were on a flight during India's tour of Pakistan in 2006. 'During the 2006 tour, we were flying from Karachi to Lahore. Both teams were travelling together. Afridi came and put his hand on my head and messed up my hair. He asked me, 'How are you kid?'' Pathan revealed during the conversation. 'I thought since when did you become my father. He behaved like a child. I was neither talking to him nor saying anything. After this Afridi said some bad things to me. His seat was near mine. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'He (Afridi) has eaten dog meat, he has been barking for so long. After this Afridi could not say anything. 'A Very Tough Decision, But Due To...': Karun Nair Explains His Bold Move During England Tests
Last Updated: Karun Nair, after a stellar season with Vidarbha, returns to Karnataka for personal reasons, aiming to guide young players and focus on his own preparations. Karun Nair's exploits in the last domestic season were unforgettable. The right-hand batter accumulated a truckload of runs and smashed a total of 9 centuries across formats. His performance not only helped his team, Vidarbha, clinch yet another Ranji Trophy title but was also beneficial for him on the personal front. It paved his way back to the Indian dressing room, giving him a second chance to play for the country. However, it was learned last month that Nair has decided to return to Karnataka before the 2025-2026 domestic season. After representing Vidarbha for two straight seasons, he got the No Objection Certificate from the association to head back home. A tough decision, taken due to personal reasons Speaking with ANI, Nair spoke about his decision to make the massive move. He said it was indeed a tough one, but he had to make it due to personal reasons. 'It was a very tough decision. But due to some personal reasons, I had to make that decision. But things at home were tougher. So, that's why I had to make the decision," Nair was quoted as saying by PTI. 'I had a nice chat with them (Vidarbha) and made them understand that I'm really grateful for the last two years, for the opportunity that Vidarbha gave me. Obviously, they were a little disappointed. But, you know, I made them understand that it wasn't any other reason," he added. Upon his return, Karun will have some young and promising understudies like R Smaran and KV Aneesh to guide in Karnataka ranks, and he is excited about the task. 'It's all about helping the players whenever they need something and just being there for them and supporting them. So, for me, it's quite simple. I just have to go out there and score runs and help the team. And whenever I feel I need to help someone or they need some guidance, I will be there for them to support them," he noted. Not focusing on more Indian chances After a successful England tour, India will embrace the home season soon with a couple of Test series against the West Indies and South Africa. However, Nair wants to focus on his preparations rather than worrying about selection matters. 'I am not looking too far ahead. I am just taking it day by day. Trying to, you know, work on everything that I can work on and on the learnings from the last series. And then, you know, as the time comes, we will know more about what's going to happen. 'But for me, it's just about working on myself day by day and improving every single day on my skills and my fitness," he said.
