The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a thinner and lighter design, potentially making it the thinnest iPhone ever, measuring around 5.5mm to 6.0mm.
Ultra-Slim design
The display size will be about 6.6 inches, sitting between the Pro and Pro Max but slightly smaller than the 6.7 -inch screen of iPhone 16 Plus.
Smaller display
Unlike the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 17 Air (and likely all iPhone 17 models) is rumored to feature a ProMotion OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

To achieve its ultra-slim profile, there are reports that the iPhone 17 Air could compromise with a camera featuring just a single 48-megapixel rear camera, potentially relying heavily on computational photography.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be powered by Apple's next-generation A19 chip, providing significant performance and efficiency over the A18 chip of iPhone 16 Plus.

Despite its premium "Air" designation and new features, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be priced similarly to the iPhone 16 Plus around Rs 89,900.

iPhone 17 Model Could Launch In These Bright Colours, Display Size Also Tipped

Last Updated: iPhone 17 series is tipped to get a new colour variant and Apple seems to be deciding which one of the two will be officially launched. iPhone 17 series launch is getting closer and after the less than exciting WWDC 2025 earlier this month, all focus shifts to the big event in September. The new iPhone 17 base model could be lining up alongside the iPhone 17 Air moniker, with some rumours suggesting that Apple will ditch the Plus model from here on. However, new leaks have come out this week which claims Apple could brighten up the iPhone lineup with some new colours offered with the base model. Apple is likely to bring the iPhone 17 in new purple and green shades this year. These new options are expected to be limited to the regular variants while the Pro models continue to feature in premium grey, gold and blue-like colours. The details from tipster Majin Bu suggests Apple could look at either of these new shades for the iPhone 17 model and could finally go with purple as the new option for buyers this year. The tipster has even shared the images of the iPhone 17 model which looks similar to the 16 series, with the vertical camera setup at the back. iPhone 17 series is expected to get some major display upgrades, especially the non-Pro variants this year. However, reports state that Apple could offer 120Hz refresh rate for the OLED display and drop the ProMotion aspect of the panel for its regular iPhone 17 and 17 Plus as well as the 17 Air models. iPhone 17 Air is the other big interest among readers these days, purely because of its sleek design and the cutbacks because of it. Apple is tipped to adopt the silicone carbon tech for its battery on this model which should ease some concerns about its standby time. Samsung has shown us that a slim phone does not have to suffer with the right management in place and Apple should also be able to make that happen for the Air variant. First Published:

iPhone 17 Pro Vapour Cooling System Once Again Tipped: Here's Why It Matters?

Last Updated: iPhone 17 Pro series is expected to get a major performance bump which means Apple could face some heating concerns. Apple is planning for big changes with the iPhone 17 Pro models this year, both inside and the exterior design. The new camera layout for the 17 Pro has been leaked via the rumoured cases, and now further credence has been given to the company bringing an advanced cooling system to keep the heating to a minimum. Apple has always tried to keep things exclusive to the Pro variant which is likely to happen this year as well. Apple has used a different material to manage the thermal levels on the iPhone but the new reported change means the company could up the ante with its performance later this year. Apple's rumoured decision to use a liquid cooling system for the iPhone 17 Pro can be looked at in two ways. The good part is that the A19 Pro chip promises its best-ever performance bump, which explains the use of a cooling system. However, this also means Apple is worried about the higher thermal levels of the upcoming hardware, which needs better management. The term liquid itself tells you that water is involved in the equation, and the cooling part is handling the overheating of a device, the iPhone 17 Pro in this case. We still don't know how Apple plans to integrate the tech into its devices and not even sure if that will happen but it is intriguing just to look at the dynamics in play. The company is also planning to upgrade the i Phone 17 display to support 120Hz refresh rate but it is likely to miss the ProMotion tech which means the adaptive changes will not work on the base models.
