Kondapi Community Health Centre performs first C-section operation
Medical officers at Kondapi CHC performed the C-section after admitting S Gautami, a pregnant woman from Gurrappadiya village in Kondapi mandal, on Thursday. As complications arose during labour, doctors opted for surgical intervention with the family's consent.
Gynecologist Dr K Nagamani, along with Dr Gita, Dr Nikhil, Dr Varun Tej, and the hospital's nursing and support staff, performed the surgery using modern equipment supplied by the government. Both mother and baby are in stable condition.
Dola commended the team for their dedication and safe execution of the procedure. 'This achievement reflects the government's commitment to improving healthcare access for the poor and marginalised,' said the Minister.
He added that the NDA-led government under Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will continue providing advanced medical equipment and essential medicines to government hospitals across the state.

Cong: Tripura's healthcare ‘collapsed' under BJP
Agartala: Criticising the BJP-led govt in Tripura, the opposition Congress alleged the state's healthcare system has 'completely collapsed' even as chief minister Manik Saha is himself a doctor. Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty on Saturday alleged that instead of delivering quality healthcare, the state has witnessed corruption and medical negligence, leading to deaths. Reports from both govt and independent agencies have 'punctured' the much-publicised claim of a 'health revolution', he claimed. According to a recent report by the Union ministry of health and family welfare, Tripura ranked first among northeastern states in malaria and chikungunya cases in 2024-25, despite having only 44 lakh population as compared to Assam's over three crore, Chakraborty said. In 2023, the state recorded 22,412 malaria cases, nearly half of the northeast's total, while chikungunya cases rose from 1,557 in 2023 to 2,452 in Dec 2024, he said. GDMO candidates securing 14 out of 100 recommended for recruitment, state govt should rectify the situation: Ex-Tripura CM Manik Sarkar
Former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar Sunday took potshots at the BJP-led government over the state public service panel recommending candidates with marks as low as 14 for the posts of general duty medical officers (GMDOs). 'We have come across media reports that the candidates who got 14 marks were recruited (as doctors). Those who have recruited them… it's their responsibility. If the general knowledge of the doctor is not good, then it may be a problem. It's good that attempts are being made to recruit doctors after a long time. But if they are taken irrespective of their quality… it might lead to a completely different result than expected. It may not be true in all cases, it may be true for only a few cases… but the government should take responsibility to rectify it,' Sarkar told reporters on the sidelines of a blood donation camp at Jirania in West Tripura. Three days ago, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha had congratulated the newly-recommended GDMO candidates. 'Heartfelt congratulations to all the newly recommended GDMO candidates. Wishing you great success as you embark on this noble journey, serving humanity with dedication & compassion. Your commitment to healthcare will make a difference,' CM Saha wrote on his Facebook page, sharing a Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) notification for recruitment against GDMO posts. The notification, which cleared the recruitment of 216 medical officers in the grade IV of Tripura Health Services, also said that eight posts remained vacant since no one was found suitable to be recommended, along with nine posts reserved for 'persons with disabilities'. The notification soon landed in a controversy, especially among netizens who were found divided in their opinion about medical officers getting recruited with marks as less as 14 out of 100.

NDA announces CP Radhakrishnan as candidate for Vice Presidential election
The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has announced Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan as its Vice Presidential candidate. Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post, citing health reasons and the need to follow medical advice, on July 21. The resignation was addressed to the President of India. 'To prioritise healthcare and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as the Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution,' Dhankhar wrote in his letter to the President. C P Radhakrishnan, born on October 20, 1957, in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, is currently serving as the 24th Governor of Maharashtra. He assumed office on July 31, 2024, after previously serving as the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024. In 2024, he also held additional charges as the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Radhakrishnan began his political career as an RSS worker and was part of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh's Tamil Nadu executive in 1974. He was elected twice as a Member of Parliament from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999. Between 2004 and 2007, he served as the Tamil Nadu State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In addition to political responsibilities, Radhakrishnan was Chairman of the Coir Board, Kochi, from 2016 to 2020. From 2020 to 2022, he was the BJP's All-India in-charge for Kerala.
