England's John Parry makes the first hole-in-one at this year's British Open
English golfer John Parry hit an 8-iron at the 192-yard No. 13 that landed at the front of the green, took a couple of bounces and hopped straight into the cup.
There were big celebrations on the tee, with Parry congratulated by playing partner Justin Leonard, the 1997 Open champion.
'The atmosphere was absolutely amazing,' Parry said after shooting a 4-under 67 in the third round to be 3 under for the tournament.
The 38-year-old Parry guessed it was 'about' the 10th hole-in-one of his career.
'Definitely the best one, 100 per cent,' he said.
Parry is making his second appearance at a British Open, after St. Andrews in 2022.

OXFORD United's plans for a new stadium have been recommended for approval. The U's are looking to build a 16,000-capacity ground at The Triangle, south of Kidlington Roundabout, and it has now been confirmed that the application will be heard by Cherwell District Council's planning committee on August 14. A report published by the Cherwell planning team will be reviewed by the planning committee, and states that the application is recommended for approval. If the planning committee agrees with the recommendations of the report, then the application will be referred to the Secretary of State. United development director Jonathon Clarke said: 'This is a significant and positive step towards our goal of building a world-class venue that safeguards the club's future. 'We now have confirmation of when the planning committee will meet and look forward to them hopefully endorsing the positive recommendation made by their professional officers.'

Football club responds to stadium safety concerns
A football club has responded to claims from a fan group that its ground may not meet safety standards, days before the opening home game of the season. Swindon Town supporters group, Spirit of 69, posted online to say that critical safety issues had been identified at the County Ground by Swindon Borough Council. In response, the club said it had been working to "ensure that all necessary safety measures and compliance work at the County Ground are fully completed ahead of this Saturday's fixture against Cambridge United". In a statement sent to BBC Radio Wiltshire, the club added that as of Tuesday, "all required work is either completed or on course to be finalised". The post added that some "remedial work" had taken place this week and that the group felt that the club was "refusing to comment or provide reassurances to fans". Swindon Town responded in a statement that it had been "working in close coordination with the relevant local authorities" to ensure that safety and compliance work would be completed ahead of Saturday's League Two fixture. "Some of this work was scheduled as part of our usual summer maintenance and upgrade programme and has been progressing to plan," the club added. Swindon Borough Council leader Jim Robbins said the safety of fans was a "priority" for the authority. "We want the match on Saturday to go ahead, and for the fans to be able to enjoy the first home game of the season against Cambridge United. "A multi-agency safety advisory group provides independent advice and sports grounds safety certificates, so events can take place safely in line with legal requirements. "Swindon Town Football Club are currently implementing the recommendations provided by the Advisory Group after a full audit of the ground and its safety arrangements was carried out in June by the Council and the club are in regular contact with our team. Watford have revealed their squad numbers for the 2025/26 Championship campaign. The Hornets have unveiled Luca Kjerrumgaard as their new number nine, while Nestory Irankunda takes the number 66, as teased after his signing in July.
