Mumbai, Goa-based regional carrier Fly91 on Monday said it is aiming to strengthen its network in Maharashtra by launching direct flights from Nanded to Goa and Bengaluru next month.Earlier, the airline expanded its air services network in Maharashtra with the flagging off of its inaugural flight between Goa and Solapur by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol.The new services will operate four times a week (Mon-Fri-Sat-Sun), the airline announced."With the arrival of FLY91's inaugural flight from Goa, Solapur is now on the aviation map of India. The air transport connectivity will ease the travel of individuals who travel to Solapur for pilgrimage, business and more," said Mohol.The airline said it is committed to improving last-mile air access to traditionally underserved domestic destinations."FLY91 aims to strengthen its regional network in Maharashtra by launching direct flights from Nanded to Goa and Bengaluru, in July this year, " Fly91 Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Manoj Chako said.The airline also said it plans to induct one more ATR plane in its fleet of three aircraft.With Solapur now added to its route map, the airline connects a total of eight cities, including four in Maharashtra-- Pune, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg and Solapur.The other destinations it serves are Goa, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Agatti"FLY91's newly introduced Goa-Solapur-Goa route not only improves access between Goa and Solapur but also plays a significant role in bridging two important regions with strong cultural, spiritual and economic prowess," Chako added.The new route, he said, will support tourism, business and easier access for families and pilgrims, adding, "Our goal is to improve regional air connectivity and Solapur is a key addition to our growing network."Known for its textile heritage and industrial base, Solapur also serves as a strategic gateway to five major pilgrimage centres in the state-- Pandharpur, Tuljapur, Akkalkot, Gangapur and Bhimashankar--making this route highly relevant for spiritual, leisure and business travellers from Goa, the airline said.Fly91 operates a total of over 150 flights per week with a fleet of three trurboprop ATR 72-600 aircraft. Haveri: The industrial corridor planned near Ganajur and Koluru villages in Haveri is experiencing setbacks concerning 68 acres of forest or revenue land confusion. Despite local farmers cultivating this land for years without proper documentation, the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is unable to provide compensation owing to its legal classification as forest land, thereby impeding the project. Over 125 entrepreneurs requested land allocation to establish industries near Haveri's district headquarters. Sources indicate that while the 68 acres originally belonged to the revenue department, forest authorities previously planted saplings there. Subsequently, residents of Kolur began cultivation without proper documentation. The forest department now asserts its ownership of this land. Previously, the govt decided to establish an industrial corridor between Ganajur and Kolur across 407 acres, comprising both govt and private land. Within this, the first phase involving a 200-acre industrial layout was contracted to Bengaluru-based SRC Infra. While the initial phase is 80% complete, farmers are resisting development in the second phase. "At least 59 farmers have been claiming that they are cultivating 68 acres of land in Koluru village, but these farmers don't have any documents. Deputy commissioner Vijay Mahantesh Danammanavar conducted a meeting with KIADB officials, Haveri tahsildar, and forest authorities, delegating land-related responsibilities to the tahsildar. "I asked for a detailed report from the tahsildar of Haveri after receiving applications from the farmers who claim to have been cultivating govt land for a long time. We will submit the report to the govt, and the govt will make a decision. We will complete the development works of the first phase of the industrial corridor by the end of Dec," assured DC Danammanavar. Entrepreneur Ramesh Ballari noted that numerous individuals waiting to establish industries have applied for land in the new corridor. However, land disputes persist despite ongoing construction. "Following this, many entrepreneurs are frustrated because they are not able to execute their ideas through their startups. The KIADB and department of industries and commerce (DIC) should complete the corridor work and allot layouts as early as possible," he demanded. Attempts to reach Ashok Pyati, joint director of the DIC for comments were unsuccessful.

Central govt official visits Jaipur waste-to-energy plant
1 2 J aipur: Secretary of the ministry of housing and urban affairs (MHUA) K Srinivas visited Jaipur's Langdiyawas-based solid waste-powered waste-to-energy (WTE) plant Friday. The facility, developed under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), is a key initiative of the Rajasthan govt and is operated under a public-private partnership (PPP) model by Jindal Urban Waste Management (Jaipur) Ltd. During the visit, Srinivas was welcomed by JMC-Heritage commissioner Nidhi Patel and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) director Juikar Pratik Chandra Shekhar. Officials presented an overview of the state's solid waste management initiatives and explained how the plant is supporting sustainability goals. Plant officials gave a detailed presentation on the plant's functioning, modern technologies used, energy generation from waste, and its environmental benefits. The secretary also toured the facility to observe the process of converting solid waste into electricity and reviewed the operational mechanisms first-hand. B hopal: The Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal has launched a 'Family Toilet' concept, which has drawn applause from passengers as they find their travel smooth and easy by accessing it. Director Ramjee Awasthi, said, "The Bhopal-based airport is undertaking extensive upgrades to its washroom infrastructure, with a focus on ensuring superior hygiene standards and easy access for all travellers. The modernisation work is being executed in phases and is scheduled to be finished by the end of Oct." He added, "A total of eight toilet units (comprising gents, ladies, and Divyangjan facilities) were planned for renovation. Out of these, four units were renovated under the phased execution plan. The renovation work, which commenced in Feb, is scheduled to be fully completed by Oct."
