Kim Kardashian shares devastating admission over Paris robbery

Daily Mirror6 days ago

Kim Kardashian revealed in a statement that she will 'never forget' the horrific ordeal she endured during the Paris robbery as all suspects were found guilty
Kim Kardashian was forced to relive the horrific moment she was held at gunpoint while a group of strangers robbed her while in Paris. The 44 year old mum of four endured the terrifying ordeal back in 2016 and now French authorities have been able to convict the suspects as guilty verdicts were handed out to all eight people involved.
In a statement, the star of The Kardashians said: "The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family."

She added: "While I'll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice, and promoting a fair legal system."

In addition to Kim's statement her lawyers including Michael Rhodes, Léonor Hennerick and Jonathan Mattou also released their own statement.
They said that Kim "appreciates the Court's decision and once again thanks the French authorities for treating her with great respect throughout the process."
They continued: "It has been a long journey from that terrible night back in 2016 to her standing courageously in a historic Paris courtroom to confront these criminals."
Their statement concluded said: "She looks forward to putting this tragic episode behind her, as she continues working to improve the criminal justice system on behalf of victims, the innocent, and the incarcerated seeking to redeem themselves."
According to reports, the people involved that were found guilty will unfortunately not be sentenced to further prison time, due to the fact they had served time previously while awaiting the trial.

According to CNN Judge David De Pas called the sentences "quite lenient."
He said: "They were thought of a long way away from this serious event, which impacted the civil parties. You have caused harm, even if you did not strike, if blood has not been shed, you have caused fear."
The armed robbers stole $10million-worth of jewellery from the terrified star who said that she also feared she would be attacked by the men involved.

According to a defence counsel source, they said: "Health and age factors and the fact that they have spent periods in prison already means that none will go back inside a cell. All have returned to their homes."
According to Kim's legal team, the vast majority of the jewellery stolen remains unrecovered. The sentence of eight years was handed down to one of the suspects, named Aomar Ait Khedache who was the ring leader.

It has been reported that he is deaf and can barely speak following a long time spent dealing with ill health.
His defence lawyer, Chloé Arnoux, said: "He was sentenced to eight years in prison, but he won't go, because he has already served five years in prison.
They added: "He was convicted in 2017 for another sentence concurrently with the latest one handed down, so the remaining three years will be suspended too."

How can France ban outdoor smoking?

Faced with a cost-of-living crisis, rising delinquency, failing public services, and riots in the suburbs, the French government has finally sprung into action – it's banning smoking outdoors. Not entirely, of course, just in places where children might be. The new rules, coming into force in July, prohibit lighting up in any space 'frequented by children', which is as vague and self-important as it sounds. We're told this includes parks, beaches, bus stops and pavements near schools. Where else? No one knows. What is clear is that the state is now more concerned with puffing parents, than with knife crime or collapsing hospitals. The announcement came courtesy of Health Minister Catherine Vautrin, who described it, without irony, as a 'new dynamic' in France's anti-smoking campaign. It's hard to imagine a better illustration of political displacement. Unable to fix anything that actually matters, the French state contents itself with issuing €135 fines to middle-aged women having a Marlboro Light on a bench.

Nicola Peltz escalates legal fight against NYC dog groomers over pet deaths

Brooklyn Beckham's wife Nicola Peltz is reportedly pursuing legal action against a New York-based grooming company, alleging that its employee Jony Ceballos caused the deaths of two of her dogs Actress and heiress Nicola Peltz is accusing a New York pet grooming company of negligence in the deaths of two of her beloved dogs. She alleges that the same groomer who handled her chihuahua Nala - who died shortly after an appointment - is also responsible for the 2021 death of her French bulldog Frankie. Peltz, 30, claims her dogs were healthy before their grooming sessions with HoundSpa LLC and groomer Jony Ceballos. In a lawsuit, she describes Ceballos' actions as 'intentional and malicious abuse of dogs,' saying Nala was 'a healthy, happy dog' who returned home 'in severe physical distress.' ‌ Vet records showed Nala had fluid in her lungs and neurological issues. 'She was in serious physical distress with her lungs full of water, chest pulsating and hyperventilating,' Nicola stated. The pup died hours later, leaving Nicola emotionally devastated. ‌ Her lawsuit, filed last year, also claims her other dog, Angel, now screams and shakes when left alone after being groomed by the same company. The allegations don't stop there as Peltz claims it wasn't until Nala's death that she realized Frankie had also shown symptoms of trauma after a grooming by Ceballos. ‌ 'Upon returning from his grooming with Ceballos, Frankie was in visible physical distress, repeatedly stumbling as if he had been sedated.' Neurologists later discovered fluid in his brain, and part of it began to collapse, eventually requiring the removal of an eye before he passed away months later. 'Nicola cried and cared for her dog - not at that time suspecting that an individual charged with caring for her dog would have hurt him.' Nicola also accuses the groomer of mishandling her brother's dog, Banksy, by letting medicated shampoo get into the dog's eyes despite repeated warnings. 'He showed clear frustration' and 'rushed the conversation,' she said. Afterwards, Banksy's eyes were 'red and irritated, and had puss coming out of them." ‌ Despite complaints, no action was taken by HoundSpa's owner, Deborah Gittleman. Now, according to Mail Online, Nicola has hired celebrity attorney Marty Singer - dubbed 'Mad Dog' in Hollywood - to take the case to court. he New York Supreme Court has ordered both sides to turn over key documents, including Nala's necropsy and the company's insurance policies. Nicola must appear for a deposition before October 30. Online reviews echo similar concerns. 'Do not put your dogs in a dangerous situation and use them,' wrote one dog-owner, who said her dog came home with razor cuts. ‌ Another reviewer described how her dogs would 'shake when they would see Johnny [sic],' adding that he gave off a 'bad vibe.' She also noted that HoundSpa once operated out of the parking lot of Northwind Kennels, whose owner was arrested for multiple counts of animal cruelty. Peltz's lawsuit cites yet another disturbing customer account: 'Jonny… mishandled the puppy (in front of several witnesses) in such a horrific manner the pup peed as he grabbed them!' The customer wrote that 'all [the puppy's] desensitization training has been replaced by trauma,' adding that 'the poor pup has been left traumatized just seeing the van.' 'Gittleman should never have allowed Ceballos to continue to groom pets after receiving multiple customer complaints concerning his mistreatment and abuse of animals,' Peltz stated in the suit. The Mirror has approached Nicola's representatives and a spokesperson for HoundSpa LLC and groomer Jony Ceballos for comment on this story.

The CNN reporter whose tweets annoyed Pete Hegseth so much he 'tried to ban her from overseas trip'

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth attempted to kick a CNN reporter off his upcoming overseas trip after she criticized him in tweets, Status News reports. Haley Britzky, one of CNN's national security reporters, was initially chosen to serve as the designated television pooler on Hegseth's May 30 trip to Singapore, where he'll give a speech at a defense summit. However she was almost removed, after Pentagon officials became enraged over posts she shared which criticized Hegseth for clamping down on press freedom, Status reports. The majority of Britzky's feed on X has been focused on the May 23 decision by the Defense Department to no longer allow credentialed reporters to freely walk through the Pentagon's unclassified hallways. To get through much of the building, reporters now need to be escorted by authorized Pentagon staff. In a memo, Hegseth explained that this move was 'needed to reduce the opportunities for in-person inadvertent and unauthorized disclosures.' Britzky reposted many journalists who openly slammed the new policy as an attempt to stop them from doing their jobs. Oliver Darcy, the former CNN reporter who runs Status News, said he recently learned that Britzky's tweets 'irked' certain Pentagon officials who later tried to get her kicked off the trip. Britzky was tapped as the designated TV pool reporter as space on the trip was limited, meaning she would shared her work with the wider press. Following a 'brief standoff', per Status, she was allowed back on the junket. Her critical posts also included re-sharing one from a journalist who said the memo is ironic in light of Signalgate, in reference to the scandal where Hegseth accidentally shared details of a military strike with a journalist on the group messaging app Signal. In one of her posts, Britzky took an excerpt from the Pentagon Press Association's blistering rebuke of Hegseth. She focused on the part where the association said it would be glad to discuss maintaining operations security [OPSEC] with the Pentagon. The association claimed no such conversation has been offered by Hegseth or his team. 'Today's memo by Secretary Hegseth appears to be a direct attack on the freedom of the press and America's right to know what its military is doing,' the association said in an open letter. 'The Pentagon Press Corps has had access to non-secured, unclassified spaces in the Pentagon for decades, under Republican and Democratic administrations, including in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, without any concern about OP-SEC from DoD leadership. 'This decision eliminates the media's freedom to freely access press officers for the military services who are specifically hired to respond to press queries.' Pictured: Haley Britzky's tweets over the last week that allegedly endangered her spot on the Singapore trip According to Status News, Britzky merely expressing support for these messages was enough for Pentagon officials to consider axing her from the Asia trip. This then prompted other reporters who were also traveling with Hegseth to threaten not going, depriving him of media coverage, Status News reported. That threat is reportedly what got the Pentagon to relent and allow Britzky on the trip after all. approached the Pentagon, CNN and Britzky for comment. Hegseth's desire to restrict press access to the Pentagon comes more than two months after he shared the details of a US military strike on Signal, an unsecured group messaging app. Unbeknownst to Hegseth, Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor in chief of The Atlantic, had been inadvertently added to the chat and could see top national security officials openly discussing upcoming airstrikes in Yemen against the Houthis. After the strikes went ahead on March 15 as planned, Goldberg penned a bombshell article on March 24 claiming he knew two hours before. On March 26, he published a follow up piece that included all the screenshots of the chat, whose participants included former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance and Hegseth. On April 20, it emerged that Hegseth shared military attack details in a second Signal group chat with his wife, brother and personal lawyer. And on April 30, it was reported that Hegseth had a third chat discussing sensitive foreign policy matters that included his wife, Pentagon Chief Spokesman Sean Parnell and fellow former Fox producer Tami Radabaugh. Hegseth faced calls to resign, but those demands have gradually waned over time. President Donald Trump has also stood by embattled defense secretary, telling reporters shortly after Easter that 'Pete's doing a great job.'
