For decades, Glenn 'Kane' Jacobs dominated the WWE ring, but it has been years since "The Devil's Favorite Demon" has competed.
In a recent interview, the WWE Hall of Famer addressed whether he has any plans for a final farewell match, suggesting that fans have likely seen the last of him in the ring.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Jacobs was asked about a potential send-off. He acknowledged that the pace of modern wrestling may be too much for him at this stage of his life.
"That May Have Left Me Behind"
When asked about a final match, Kane was candid and realistic about his in-ring future. He laughed off the idea, stating that keeping up with today's superstars would be a major challenge.
"[Laughs] I don't know about that, man. Oh man," Kane said (H/T to SEScoops). "Brother, we were just talking about athleticism and movement and keeping up with the pace of people nowadays. That may have left me behind, guys."
Kane last appeared in the ring during the 2021 Men's Royal Rumble match. While some fans hope to see him return one last time, his comments suggest he is content with his career being over.
WWE
From Demon To Mayor
A major reason for his absence is his successful career in politics. Since 2018, Glenn Jacobs has served as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. His focus has shifted entirely from the squared circle to public service, making appearances on WWE programming a rarity.
His full-time political career is a stark contrast to his on-screen persona. It's a testament to the intelligence and dedication of the man behind one of wrestling's most terrifying masks.
A Legendary Career Of Destruction
The Kane character is one of the most protected and iconic creations in WWE history. He debuted at the Badd Blood pay-per-view in 1997, ripping the door off the first-ever Hell in a Cell structure to confront his storyline brother, The Undertaker.
For years, Kane was an unstoppable monster, defined by his mask, his control of fire, and his silent, destructive rage.
Throughout his career, Kane became a WWE Grand Slam Champion, holding the WWE, World Heavyweight, ECW, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Championships. For over a decade, he held the record for the most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble match.
While a final, story-driven send-off may not be in the cards, "The Big Red Machine's" legacy as one of WWE's greatest and most unique characters will last forever.

Brie Bella Reveals The ‘Roadblock' In The Way Of Her WWE Return

Brie Bella says there might be something — or someone, rather — getting in the way of her possible return to WWE. Nikki Bella made her WWE in-ring return earlier this year, and she's made subsequent appearances at WWE Evolution and on RAW. When the Bellas do press for their respective projects, one or both are usually asked when Brie will be coming back. Brie Bella has addressed this on a few occasions, claiming that she was just waiting for the phone call from WWE. However, Brie now shared that this particular comment was designed to keep interviews moving. During a new solo-hosting episode of the Nikki & Brie show, Brie was talking about the various 'roadblocks' in her life. 'There's been what I can consider a roadblock, but it's also a good sign. And that's where I make a joke because I've been on red carpets or in interviews. There's one question that I constantly get asked. And it is, 'When will we see you back in the ring?' As if I have that power. And I always make a joke because when I'm in interviews. I don't want to ever answer something serious because usually it's a quick question and they need a quick answer. So I have constantly made the joke, 'Oh, waiting on the call.' Which in some ways, can be true. And in some ways, I am just saying something cheeky and sweet so I can get on to the next question. Brie Bella says her husband in AEW is her roadblock with WWE After mentioning why she answers this way, Brie said she believes the roadblock to her in-ring return is the fact that her husband, Bryan Danielson, is employed by AEW. Brie noted that people are entitled to be uncomfortable with the situation, but she sees it as a potential sign. 'But what I wanted to bring up, because I feel like, ok, it's something that's important in these solo episodes, is to open up to all of you [about] what I'm going through so I can help some of you. But when I look at that, I know my roadblock is the fact that my husband is with the rival company,' Brie Bella said. 'For some people, it makes them uncomfortable at WWE, thinking I would be there while my husband is with AEW. 'And you know what? That's ok,' she continued. 'I've looked at that roadblock as people have the right to feel. If people feel uncomfortable, they're uncomfortable, and that's ok. They have that right. Does it bum me out sometimes when I wish their feelings were different? Absolutely. But, it doesn't make me angry and it doesn't make me bitter. It makes me [realize] that that is a sign that I am supposed to be staying in my 'soft girl era.' Rusev just doesn't stand out at all in today's WWE

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report. In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Becky Lynch's proposal for Lyra Valkyria, Roman Reigns addressing Paul Heyman's betrayal, and Jelly Roll standing in the ring while Logan Paul runs into him, a lot of fortunes were changed. With that in mind, let's see whose stock decreased the most this week: On this week's episode of Raw, Rusev took his first singles loss since returning to WWE three months ago, falling victim to a Brogue Kick from Sheamus. Rusev has only had a handful of matches since coming back to WWE, and he's made close to no impact on the product. His work is fine, but watching him and Sheamus do battle does sort of seem like it's a time warp back to a decade ago, and I don't think that's a good thing. Nothing really stands about Rusev's gimmick today that seems like it's going to catch on and warrant a big push over the current crop of stars on the WWE roster. A-Town Down Under abruptly broke up this week after what felt like at least one full year of their story going nowhere. The official split happened in a backstage segment on Raw where Grayson Waller tried to align himself with the New Day after saying he was glad to finally have the 'dead weight' of the injured Theory off his back. Just like that, Waller has a new creative direction in WWE, while the guy who beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39 has never been more irrelevant. The megastar is nowhere to be seen on WWE programming since losing in a gauntlet match on the July 14 episode of Raw. His absence is tied into the strange circumstances surrounding Seth Rollins' knee injury. The bottom line is that WWE creative has nothing for LA right now, and it looks like he won't be booked in a match at SummerSlam. Now let's see whose stock increased the most this week: Kross is finally gaining traction on Raw as part of a program with Sami Zayn. Their feud is even getting a spotlight on the SummerSlam card, which is a pretty big deal for Karrion. There are a lot of rumors and reports about Kross' WWE contract status, and it's happening at a good time as more fans are rallying behind him. After being gone from WWE for over one year, Kiana James returned to SmackDown in a managerial role of sorts for Women's United States Champion Giulia. This is a very good spot for James to land in, because it should guarantee regular TV time for her during Giulia's current push. James would likely be lost in the shuffle in the women's division otherwise, but this spot gives her a good chance to show off her talking skills and get fans invested in her character. The build to SummerSlam has generally been rushed and underwhelming, but one of the bright spots is the angle between Styles and Mysterio. The comedy of Styles hanging around backstage in disguise to keep an eye on the cowardly Mysterio has been very effective at building interest in their Intercontinental title match at WWE's biggest party of the summer. There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think changed the most this week? WWE honors Hulk Hogan with another tribute on Monday Night Raw

WWE continues to pay tribute to one of its icons, Hulk Hogan. The wrestling company honored Hogan at the start of Monday Night Raw on July 28 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, four days after his death. The Raw roster came out in the arena to kick off the show, with WWE chief content officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque speaking about Hogan's impact of wrestling. "We lost one of the biggest and most globally recognized icons in the world. A man I grew up watching was fortunate enough to share the ring with and like so many of us were honored to call a friend," Levesque said. "He captivated millions of people and inspired them around the globe. We would not be standing here right now, all of us together, if it was not for him." The honorary 10-bell salute then rang as people in the crowd held up signs and chanted Hogan. Also with the roster was Hogan's son, Nick, and longtime friend and WCW collaborator Eric Bischoff. A tribute video also played highlighting the biggest moments of his Hogan's career, along with other moments outside of the ring. It was the second tribute for Hogan after one was done at Friday Night SmackDown on July 25, the day after his death. Hogan died at the age of 71 after he suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Considered one of the biggest wrestling stars in history, he was a six-time WWE Champion and inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, in 2005 for himself and in 2020 as part of the New World Order.
