Shipping and logistics solutions provider Shreeji Shipping Global Ltd and supermarket chain Patel Retail Ltd are set to launch their maiden public issues on August 19.According to their Red Herring Prospectus (RHP), the IPOs will close on August 21, and the one-day bidding for anchor investors is scheduled for August 18.The two companies will announce the price band for their public issues on Monday.So far this year, 44 mainboard companies have launched their IPOs. In addition, two IPOs of BlueStone Jewellery and Lifestyle will open on August 11, followed by the issue of agro-based firm Regaal Resources on August 12.Going by the RHP, Shreeji Shipping Global's IPO is an entirely fresh issue of 1.63 crore equity shares with no offer for sale (OFS) component.The company plans to utilise Rs 251.2 crore from the IPO proceeds for the acquisition of dry bulk carriers in the supramax category on the secondary market, and Rs 23 crore for debt repayment.The flagship company of Jamnagar-based Shreeji Group primarily focuses on non-major ports and jetties, particularly along the west coast of India.Patel Retail's IPO is a mix of a fresh issue of 85.18 lakh shares and an OFS of 10.02 lakh shares of promoters, according to the RHP.As per merchant banking sources, the IPO size is expected to be Rs 250 crore to Rs 300 crore.Proceeds from the fresh issuance to the tune of Rs 59 crore will be used for payment of debt, Rs 115 crore for funding of working capital requirements of the company, and a portion will be used for general corporate purposes.Patel Retail was established in 2008 with the launch of its first store in Ambernath, Maharashtra. Since then, it has expanded its operations throughout the suburban regions of Thane and the Raigad district in Maharashtra.The company provides a diverse range of products including food, non-food items, general merchandise, and apparel to meet the needs of families. It operates in tier-III cities and nearby suburban areas under the brand 'Patel's R Mart'.Shares of the two companies are expected to begin trading on the bourses from August 26. PTI

Tirupati sets 16.69% growth target, eyes major industrial & tourism boost
Tirupati: Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy announced that the district aims to increase its Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) from Rs 91,478 crore to Rs 1,69,633 crore, marking a targeted growth rate of 16.69 percent. In line with the Swarnandhra@2047 Vision Plan guidelines, comprehensive vision documents have been prepared for Tirupati district, including constituency-level and mandal-level plans. The Minister, who was the chief guest at the 79th Independence Day celebrations in Tirupati on Friday, hoisted the national flag and received a police guard of honour before addressing the gathering. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar, SP V Harshavardhan Raju, Joint Collector Shubham Bansal, Municipal Commissioner N Mourya, and other senior officials attended the celebrations. On this occasion, Reddy highlighted the district's priorities for the future and key achievements over the past year. By implementing the district and mandal vision plans over the next five years, and through coordinated efforts across all departments, the Minister projected that the district's per capita income would rise to Rs 6,01,297 by 2028–29. Under the P4 initiative, 6,197 mentors have so far adopted 60,997 'golden families' out of 80,477 identified in the district. Emphasising the district's favourable environment for industrial investment, the Minister said that 131 mega and large-scale industries have already been established in Tirupati district with an investment of Rs 37,154 crore, generating employment for 75,791 people. In the current financial year alone, 5,886 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have commenced production with an investment of around Rs 191 crore, creating jobs for an additional 12,129 individuals. On tourism, he said the district holds vast potential for growth, with plans to develop temple circuit tourism, beach tourism, and resort facilities to encourage pilgrims to extend their stay by an extra day. Tableaus presented by various departments – including Industries & APIIC, Agriculture, Horticulture & APMIP, DRDA & MEPMA, Municipal Corporation, Tourism, Fire Services, NREDCAP, Education (DEO), and DWMA – attracted wide attention. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation's tableau won first prize, DRDA & MEPMA jointly secured second, and the Agriculture Department took third place. A special jury award was presented to a tableau on Swarna Naravaripalle, jointly exhibited by the District Panchayat Raj and APSPDCL. The Minister also visited departmental stalls showcasing development activities and presented merit certificates to outstanding government staff. Cultural performances at the event received enthusiastic applause from the audience. City MLA Arani Srinivasulu, MLC Balli Kalyana Chakravarthy, Yadava Corporation Chairman G Narasimha Yadav and other leaders were present.

As regulatory curbs seem to ease fintechs bet on festive spark in unsecured lending play

This is encouraging large banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) who typically co-lend with fintechs to slowly open up to unsecured credit.'We will power our consumer lending play primarily with our own NBFC, and we are currently getting our internal systems right, so that once the festive season comes, we can quickly scale up disbursals,' said Nalin Negi, chief executive officer, BharatPe. The New Delhi-based fintech, which is mainly into merchant lending, is preparing to grow its consumer lending business. BharatPe owns around 74% in Trillionloans, a registered One97 Communications , which runs Paytm, showed a strong growth in its financial services business in the June quarter, primarily driven by unsecured merchant and consumer insiders believe that the stress in the unsecured sector has bottomed out and are expecting a return to growth in the coming months. They, however, noted that it will not be a rapid recovery since rate cuts by the central bank always take time to its March quarter analyst call, Paytm also spoke about positivity around consumer lending business. Digital lenders are hoping to grab a substantial chunk of this growth opportunity.A senior executive at an NBFC pointed out that lenders are in the business of risk and they avert lending for a prolonged period of time. But risk weights are being revisited, and growth will be through enough caution.'We are getting enquiries for partnerships both from fintechs who want to work with our NBFC and from lenders who want to source through our app, but we have to recalibrate this business, pricing, tenure, volumes and others,' said Negi at BharatPe.
