Altrincham and Tamworth share spoils on final day
Alex Newby's equaliser gave Altrincham a share of the spoils against Tamworth on the final day of the National League regular season.
Ben Crompton gave Tamworth the lead in the 14th minute and the visitors went close to doubling their lead when Munashe Sundire's volley crashed back off the crossbar.
However, Newby equalised early in the second half after being selflessly set up by Lewis Banks to tap the ball into an empty net.
Neither side could find a winner and the point apiece means Altrincham ended the season in ninth place, above their opponents on goal difference.

Former NI boss on the road to recovery after horror accident: ‘I'm looking forward to returning as quickly as possible'
Partick Thistle, where Baraclough is Sporting Director, revealed the 54-year-old was injured while swimming in Mauritius. The Scottish Championship side stated: 'Ian was injured whilst swimming and required immediate surgery to ensure that the injuries were not life-changing, and it is expected it will be several weeks before he can return to the country and a further period of recovery will be needed before he is able to return to The Wyre Stadium at Firhill. 'The club have been in constant contact with Ian's family since the accident and have now also been able to thankfully speak to Ian.' Baraclough succeeded Michael O'Neill and held the Northern Ireland post for two years before being sacked in October 2022. He also spent three years in charge of the Northern Ireland Under-21s before his promotion in 2020 when O'Neill joined Stoke City. Following a spell as Cheltenham Town assistant manager, he was appointed Director of Football with National League side AFC Fylde before leaving in January. He said: 'On behalf of myself, my wife, my children and my wider family I would like to thank the surgeons and staff at the Wellkin Hospital, Mauritius for their exceptional care. 'I would also like to thank Club Chairman Richard Beastall and all of the team at Partick Thistle for their support and well wishes. In my short space of time I have already felt the close bond and drive from staff, players, fans and volunteers that make Thistle what it is. 'I'm looking forward to returning as quickly as possible and get back to that unique and special feeling that really marks Thistle out as a football club with a passion to be different and an ambition to succeed. It is one that I am very proud to be a part of.' Club Chairman Beastall said: 'It was a harrowing time for Ian and his family immediately after the accident, however things are beginning to settle now. 'He suffered broken bones in both his neck and back but thankfully the speed in which he was operated on, and the care that was taken pre-operation, has helped the situation significantly. 'Ian has only been at the club for a short time, however he has impressed everyone with his professionalism and drive. Everyone at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill wishes Ian a quick and full recovery. 'We have contingency measures in place to cope with his absence. These include extra duties being carried out by our new Head of Recruitment, Lee Turnbull, who has now officially started, and others at the club. I thank everyone for rallying together.'

Man Utd star's emotional message after being released by Amorim – 'Once a red'
Several Manchester United academy graduates have joined veteran first teamers in being released by the Red Devils as Ruben Amorim looks to build his new era at the club Manchester United academy starlet James Nolan has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the club after parting ways with the Red Devils. It was reported early last month that three youngsters - Nolan, Jack Kingdon and Sam Murray - would be allowed to leave as free agents this summer. United published their retained list on Monday and the aforementioned players' departures were made official. Nolan spent last season on loan with Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Scottish League One, where he made 33 appearances and scored his first career goal. The 19-year-old defender will now look for a new club to begin his next chapter. Taking to Instagram, Nolan wrote: "My time at Manchester United has now come to an end. "From joining at the age of seven to now leaving at 19 it has been my second home. I just want to say a massive thank you to the coaches, players and everyone at the club for making my time unforgettable. I've made memories to last a life time. "Once a Red always a Red." Nolan is a versatile player and mainly played at full-back for Caledonian Thistle. Central defender Jack Kingdon also shared his gratitude in a similar social media post, saying: 'After nearly 5 years at this club, it is my time to move onto the next chapter in my career. 'The experiences this club has given me I will always be grateful for. The lads, staff and fans have been outstanding with me whilst I've been here. "Manchester United will always have a place in my heart, but it is time for the next chapter. Thank you, Reds." Kingdon as an academy product was instrumental in the Under-18 treble-winning team in 2023/2024. The 19-year-old, who is a Scotland youth international, was also excellent on loan with Rochdale after signing for the club in the winter window. It's understood that Kingdon was on the verge of signing for Ineos-owned FC Lausanne Sport on loan in January before he signed for Rochdale, who he helped reach the National League play-offs. Academy goalkeepers Tom Myles and Tom Wooster have also been released this summer, with the official club website's statement reading: 'The Academy is proud of all of our departing young players throughout the age groups. They will be supported in securing contracts at new clubs, provided with a bespoke aftercare programme, and will always have a lifelong association with Manchester United.' Joining them in the mass clearout after a disastrous season for the first team are established stars Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof. Tom Heaton is also included on the list of free transfers, however, the club remains in discussions with the goalkeeper about a new deal that would see him remain part of the squad for the 2025/26 season. It is understood that there will be a limited number of spots available in Ruben Amorim's squad next season as the Portuguese head coach looks to transform the club's fortunes with new additions.

The key numbers behind Raith Rovers' move for first summer signing Jai Rowe
Raith Rovers' first signing of the summer, Jai Rowe, has not come from the usual merry-go-round of players available in Scottish football. For a right-back, the recruit from England's National League has come from somewhat leftfield. The 23-year-old had been offered a new deal at former club Boston United, but has instead opted for a new challenge in the Scottish Championship. Courier Sport has taken a look at the numbers that have made the promising defender attractive to Raith. Rowe turns 24 on August 8 but has already packed a lot into his career. Starting out in first-team football with Barwell in England's seventh-tier at the age of just 16, he now has seven seasons under his belt. With three of those years spent in League Two, the full-back has built up a considerable amount of top-team experience for someone his age. Raith will be optimistic the Englishman can hit the ground running at Stark's Park. Rowe has penned a two-year deal with Rovers, and will welcome the stability after going summer to summer down south. Vice-captain Ross Matthews has signed on for just one more year and Callum Smith has agreed only six months as he completes his comeback from a serious knee injury. Previously, others have been handed only 12-month agreements and shorter. So, two years is an indication Raith do not see Rowe as much of a gamble and they expect him to make an impact not just next season but in 2026/27 as well. Rowe featured in 55 games for Boston last season – every single match they played. Of those 55 matches, incredibly he started 52, with his three substitute's outings coming in the league against York City, FC Halifax Town and AFC Fylde. He was Boston's most consistent performer, topping their appearance charts. With Raith having struggled with injuries and consistency at times last term, they will be hoping Rowe can continue being available and dependable. For a full-back, Rowe's goal-scoring statistics are impressive. He has netted 22 times over the course of his career so far, and comes north after his most prolific campaign. The versatile and athletic player was Boston's second-top scorer last season with nine goals in his 55 appearances. It is clear he will add something to Raith in attack as well as defence. Rovers will be hopeful Rowe provides the answer to what has become something of a problem position of late. Over the last two seasons, they have had four right-backs come and go without settling. Ross Millen was a regular but was frozen out due to a disagreement behind the scenes midway through season 2023/24. Since then, James Brown on loan from St Johnstone, ex-Dundee United defender Kieran Freeman and one-time Chelsea youngster Fankaty Dabo have failed to prove themselves a long-term fit on the right side of Raith's defence.
