The Kansas City Chiefs made their third Super Bowl appearance in the last five seasons in 2024, but were unable to best the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the Chiefs losing the big game, they still showcased why they are the team to beat in the AFC.

A big reason for the Chiefs' success remains star tight end Travis Kelce. Though Kelce had a down year in 2024, he put together a campaign of 823 yards and three touchdowns.
The 2024 season was the worst in Kelce's career, but he remains a high-level player. His ability to show up in clutch moments during the postseason is also a big reason why he remains a premier player in the NFL.

That doesn't seem to be the case for NFL insider Pete Prisco, who recently put out a top 100 player list for the 2025 season. While Kelce was ranked No. 18 last season, he has dropped near the bottom of the list to No. 96.
"Age started to look like it was impacting Kelce's play last season, as he didn't look to be the same player. There were moments, but the consistency wasn't there. He had 97 catches, but he averaged just 8.5 per catch, the lowest of his career, which is not a good sign for a 35-year-old. (Last season: No. 18)," Prisco writes.
That is a massive fall for a player who continually plays his position at an elite level. In fact, Kelce is widely viewed as the top tight end and also No. 2 next to San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle.
Even with a down year, ranking Kelce so low is a bit confusing. The Chiefs are usually a success in the regular season and playoffs due to the combo of Patrick Mahomes and Kelce.
Without Kelce, there is no telling if the offense would have had enough power to get through the multiple one-score games they won to secure their postseason berth and playoff crown.
Kelce was believed to want to retire following the 2024 season, and even stated he would have considered it had the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. However, he made it clear that he would come back for at least one more season.
Age might be catching up to the star tight end, but Kelce also sounds like he has locked in to helping the Chiefs get back to the Super Bowl. Though he had the worst production in his career in 2024, don't expect a repeat of that in 2025.

Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders reportedly cited for speeding, driving more than 100 mph
Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over on Tuesday morning for allegedly driving more than 100 miles per hour on a Cleveland-area highway. Sanders, according to Fox 8, was pulled over on 71 North around 12:24 a.m. on Tuesday by police. He was cited for driving 101 mph, which was 41 mph over the posted speed limit. Advertisement Further specifics of the incident are not known. Sanders can simply pay a fine for the ticket should he choose not to fight it in court. The Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round earlier this spring in what was one of the more shocking slides in recent NFL Draft memory. Sanders threw for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns last season at Colorado while teaming up with Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. Sanders, the son of Hall of Famer and Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, is one of several quarterbacks fighting for the starting job in Cleveland this fall while Deshaun Watson remains sidelined with an Achilles injury. The Browns selected Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round of the NFL Draft earlier this spring, too, and they have Kenny Pickett and veteran Joe Flacco available, too. If Sanders were to be the starting quarterback for the Browns, he'd be just the second quarterback selected in the fifth round or later of the draft to start in Week 1 since the league merger.

Patriots' $104M DL Milton Williams Could Be Even Better After Breakout Season With Eagles
Patriots' $104M DL Milton Williams Could Be Even Better After Breakout Season With Eagles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New England Patriots opened the checkbooks for several free agents this offseason, including a big payday for a backup defensive lineman on last season's Super Bowl champions. Advertisement That player is Milton Williams, who played behind Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis with the Philadelphia Eagles. He is now heading into the 2025 season with a new team and a new contract, worth $104 million over four years, assuming a starting role for the Patriots. That is why Analyst Marc Ross expects him to take an even bigger step forward after what Ross described as a "breakout" season in 2024. "Williams was my colleague Gregg Rosenthal's top free agent this offseason, which speaks to Williams' impact given he played fewer than 50 percent of Philadelphia's defensive snaps in each of his four seasons with the team," Ross said. Ross noted the 26-year-old Williams' five sacks last year, with 35 quarterback pressures and a league-leading 12.9 percent pressure rate among defensive tackles, according to Next Gen Stats. Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams (93) celebrates after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIX at Ceasars J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Two of Williams' three sacks came in the biggest game of his life, Super Bowl LIX. Advertisement However, there is one caveat that Ross wanted to add. "It can be risky paying part-time players big-time money... He will be tasked with turning around a defense that ranked 22nd in yards and points allowed in 2024," Ross said. It helps that New England's defense is not going to look the same as last year. The rising star defensive lineman joins a revamped defensive line, headlined by a healthy Christian Barmore and Harold Landry III. Pairing Carlton Davis III with Christian Gonzalez at cornerback should also be mutually beneficial for the front seven and a secondary that already has Kyle Duggar and Jabrill Peppers.
