The Kalaburagi Police have arrested two ganja peddlers and seized 6.915 kg of ganja worth ₹6.5 lakh here near Langar Hanuman temple area on Wednesday.
The accused were identified as 30-year-old Shahbaaz Abdul Rasheed of Umar Colony and 31-year-old Banu of Aman Nagar in the city.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that they brought ganja from Jalgaon district in Maharashtra to sell it to Abdul Shaikh and Ramesh Kale in Kalaburagi.
Sub-Urban Police have filed a case against them under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act.

Trichy: A house help has been arrested on charges of stealing a gold chain weighing six sovereigns and 1 lakh cash at Pon Nagar, Trichy. Police said Shayin alias Banu, 43, a native of Asthampatti in Salem, was employed through a domestic help agency at the residence of Imran Ahamed, 28, who lives with his father. Man from Sudan arrested in Kalaburagi for overstaying

The Kalaburagi Police have arrested a Sudan national under the Foreigners Act for overstaying in India beyond his Visa limit and shifted him to the detention centre for immigrants in Bengaluru. The accused, Abu Safiyan Hyder Ahmad Almeen, had come on a students visa for studying pharmacy course at the Rajiv Gandhi Education Institution in Kalaburagi. During investigation, it was revealed that he obtained a Visa for 2013 to 2016 and came to India. Though his Visa expired on November 22, 2016, he had been overstaying in India for more than eight years. After completing the documentation process, the Kalaburagi Police have shifted him to illegal the detention centre for immigrants.
