Israeli forces commit two massacres in Gaza, killing 17

Ammon28-05-2025

Ammon News - Israeli occupation forces Wednesday committed two massacres against two families in the northern and central Gaza Strip, killing 17 civilians, including children and women.
The occupation committed two massacres against two families in the northern and central Gaza Strip, killing 14 citizens, including children and women.
In the Saftawi neighborhood, north of Gaza City, an Israeli warplane raid targeted the home of the Al-Arbid family, killing eight members and wounding others.
He added that six other citizens from the Aqeelan family were killed in the city of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, after their home was targeted by an Israeli warplane.
Two citizens were also killed by Israeli shelling and fire on the town of Abasan, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, while another young man was killed by Israeli drone fire in the town of Al-Fakhari, east of the city.
Yesterday evening, three citizens were killed and dozens wounded by Israeli forces' fire west of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The bodies of three martyrs were recovered, while 46 wounded arrived at the Red Cross Hospital in Rafah following Israeli artillery shelling and gunfire targeting citizens waiting for aid west of Rafah.
Since March 2, the occupation has continued its policy of systematically starving approximately 2.4 million citizens in the Gaza Strip by closing the crossings to aid supplies piling up on the border, plunging the Strip into famine and claiming the lives of many.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupation has committed crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of 54,056 citizens, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 123,129 others. This is a preliminary toll, with a number of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams. WAFA

Madleen continues voyage towards Gaza despite 'Israeli' threats, says ICBSG chief

Defying threats from 'Israeli' authorities, the humanitarian aid flotilla Madleen is continuing its journey toward the Gaza Strip, carrying a symbolic one-ton shipment of aid in an effort to break the ongoing blockade on the besieged Strip. Zaher Birawi, head of the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza (ICBSG), told Roya that the freedom activists aboard the Madleen, hailing from seven different countries, remain in high spirits and are determined to deliver a message of solidarity and protest against 'Israel's' continued aggression on Gaza. Birawi said that the Madleen is not carrying any weapons, only humanitarian support and a message of hope. He described the 'Israeli' threats against the vessel as a blatant violation of international law, especially since six of the activists on board are French citizens. He added that the committee has issued warnings against any attack or interference with the ship or its passengers, and has successfully launched a global petition in solidarity with the mission, which collected over 1.15 million signatures in just two days. 'This ship is not just transporting aid, it is a cry for justice and a call to the world to act against the Israeli aggression and the unjust blockade imposed on over two million people in Gaza,' Birawi told Roya. He noted that 'Israel' is increasingly sensitive to its global image, which has been further tarnished by its ongoing military actions. Any move against the Madleen, he warned, could negatively impact Tel Aviv's relations with several countries. Birawi suggested that 'Israel' might opt to intercept the ship and redirect it to the port of Ashdod, followed by the deportation of the activists to their respective countries; rather than engaging in direct military escalation. 'Israel' says identified body of Hamas Gaza chief Mohammed Sinwar

The 'Israeli' military said Sunday that it had located and identified the body of Mohammed Sinwar, presumed leader of Hamas in Gaza, three weeks after he was said to have been killed in an air strike. "In a targeted operation of the IDF (military)... and following the completion of an identification process, it is now confirmed that the body of Mohammed Sinwar was located in the underground tunnel route beneath the European Hospital in Khan Yunis," the army said in a statement, adding that Sinwar was killed on May 13.

Qassam Brigades say two 'Israeli' soldiers killed at point-blank range in Gaza

Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that its fighters killed two 'Israeli' soldiers at point-blank range last Tuesday on Al-Nazzaz Street, east of the Shuja'iya neighborhood in Gaza City. The group said the soldiers were targeted after returning from the front lines. In a separate development, Al-Qassam stated that on Saturday, its fighters struck an 'Israeli' D9 military bulldozer with a 'Yassin 105' shell near the Yarmouk site in the Al-Manara neighborhood, south of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. These operations come as part of the group's ongoing resistance against 'Israeli' forces, which have been conducting a months-long military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
