Saudi NWC completes $123m sewerage projects in Al Narjes district

Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) has announced that its Central Cluster has completed sewerage projects worth SAR460 million ($123 million) in the Al Narjes district of the kingdom.
The scope of work included laying of pipelines and networks running more than 297 km long, in addition to the implementation of a lifting station with a capacity of 55,000 cu m per day.
The project aims to increase coverage and provide sewerage services to more than 198,000 customers in the Al Narjes district.
On the successful project completion, NWC said this comes as part of its ongoing efforts to implement the strategic plans to create infrastructure in both the water and environmental services sectors.
It is in line with its initiatives to expand coverage, improve operational efficiency, and in line with the urban and architectural growth witnessed in the capital, it added.- TradeArabia News Service

The tender was issued on 19 March 2025 with bid submissions closing on 24 April 2025. The project, located in Al Majmaah Governorate, involves the expansion of an existing sewage treatment facility 'The contract is expected to be awarded in June 2025,' the source told Zawya Projects, adding that the project is scheduled to be completed by December 2027. Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) is expected to award the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the first phase of Hajar Sewage Networks Project in Al-Ahsa Governorate in the second quarter of 2025, according to a source. The tender was issued on 20 March 2025, with bids submitted by 13 April 2025. 'The EPC contract is expected to be awarded in June 2025,' the source said, adding that project is scheduled to be delivered in 36 months from the award date. The scope of the project includes the implementation of sewage networks for the Hajar suburb, along with associated earthworks, roof restoration, and utility works. Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) is set to award the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the Al Suwayriqiyah and Al Aqiliyah Water Networks and Lines, Main Pumping Station, and Substation Project in Mahd governorate in the second quarter of 2025. The project was tendered on 19 February 2025, with bid submissions closing on 25 March 2025. 'The contract is likely to be awarded in May 2025. Completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2028,' a source aware of the details said, adding that project's cost, by his own estimates, is $220 million. The project scope includes the construction of ductile iron water pipelines with diameters of 200 and 300 mm and a total length of 580 metres, along with associated concrete chambers for control, lock, air, and washing valves. It also involves laying approximately 97.66 km of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) water lines and networks ranging from 110 mm to 400 mm in diameter, including valve rooms, gate lock valves, and fire extinguishers. Additionally, the contract covers the construction of two 500 cubic metres ground storage tanks, two main pumping stations, one subsidiary station, and an Ashiyab station.
