NWC starts work on $533m water, sanitation projects in Riyadh
Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC), through its Central Cluster, has announced that it has begun work on 30 new water and sanitary drainage projects in Riyadh region. These projects, which involve a total length of lines and networks of 1,955 km, is being implemented at a total cost of SAR2 billion ($533 million). These projects are part of NWC's ongoing efforts to implement its strategic plans to develop water and environmental services infrastructure and increase service coverage for its customers. According to NWC, the water projects it has begun implementing comprise 16 projects in Riyadh city and several governorates. These projects cover parts of the following districts in Riyadh; Al-Taawun, Al-Janadiriyah and Leban, Al-Diriyah, Dirab; and parts of Al-Quwaiyah, Afif, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Muzahimiyah, Al-Reen, Al-Kharj, Hawtat Bani Tamim, Al-Hariq, Al-Majmaah, Al-Zulfi, and Thadiq governorates, as well as Al-Ayinah and Al-Jubaila centers, said NWC in a statement. The projects include line and network lengths exceeding 1,192 km, the construction of 18 water reservoirs with a total capacity of nearly 85,000 cu m and pumping stations with a daily volume of over 247,000 cu m at a total cost of over SAR1 billion. Work has also begun on another 14 sewerage projects within Riyadh Region, encompassing Riyadh city and several governorates.

Saudi NWC completes $123m sewerage projects in Al Narjes district
Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) has announced that its Central Cluster has completed sewerage projects worth SAR460 million ($123 million) in the Al Narjes district of the kingdom. The scope of work included laying of pipelines and networks running more than 297 km long, in addition to the implementation of a lifting station with a capacity of 55,000 cu m per day. The project aims to increase coverage and provide sewerage services to more than 198,000 customers in the Al Narjes district. On the successful project completion, NWC said this comes as part of its ongoing efforts to implement the strategic plans to create infrastructure in both the water and environmental services sectors. Saudi NWC completes $123m Riyadh sanitation project
Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) has announced that its Central Cluster has completed a SAR460-million ($123 million) sewerage project as part of its strategic plans to enhance water and environmental infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and support the urban and architectural growth of capital Riyadh. The scope of work includes the installation of over 297 km long pipelines and networks as well as setting up of a lifting station with a 55,000 cu m per day capacity, said NWC in a statement. This project aims to provide sewerage services through home connections, benefiting more than 198,000 beneficiaries while reducing environmental damage and addressing visual distortions, it stated. NWC continues to accelerate the implementation of its key infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and also meet all performance indicators s well as improving the service levels and achieving the objectives of this vital sector.-TradeArabia News Service

NWC completes work on Phase III of Riyadh Wastewater Project
Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Central Cluster, has announced the successful implementation of the third phase of Riyadh Wastewater Project at a total cost of over SAR387 million ($103 million). According to NWC, the sewage treatment plant (STP), located south of capital Riyadh, is one of the strategic projects that contribute to the development of the kingdom's wastewater treatment system, improve the efficiency of treatment, and absorb the increase in expected wastewater flows due to urban expansion and increasing population growth witnessed by Riyadh. The implementation of Phase III was aimed at strengthening the infrastructure in the environmental services sector as well as expanding the STP project's coverage and boosting its operational efficiency, it stated. "The third phase of the plant works on the technology of tertiary wastewater treatment, with a design capacity of 200,000 cu m/per day, which will increase its total capacity in its three phases to 400,000 cu m per day," said a spokesman for NWC. The project aims to eliminate damage, support environmental balance, and improve the quality of services provided to customers in Riyadh, he noted. According to him, NWC was implementing several strategic projects to develop infrastructure and upgrade environmental services in the capital.
