Alligator from ‘Happy Gilmore' dead, but will continue to scare children for ‘years to come'

Morris the alligator, famous for his villainous role in Adam Sandler's classic film 'Happy Gilmore,' died of 'old age' last week and will now be taxidermied so he can 'scare children for years to come,' according to the Colorado Gator Farm.

The death of the 9-foot long, 640-pound reptile, estimated to be between 80 and 90 years old, was announced by forlorn farm operator Jay Young in a video posted to Facebook in which he caressed the deceased Morris' head.
'He started acting strange a week ago. He wasn't lunging at us and wasn't taking food,' Young said, adding, 'I know it's strange to people… that we get so attached to an alligator.'
'It's the worst part of what we do, losing animals,' Young said, holding back tears. 'He had a happy time here, and he died of old age.'

Morris retired to the farm in 2006 after a storied career in film and television that included roles in 'Dr. Doolittle 2,' 'Interview with the Vampire,' 'Blues Brothers 2000,' 'Eraser,' and of course 'Happy Gilmore.'
He appeared with legendary crocodile hunter Steve Irwin on the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' CBS reported.
Young revealed that the gator farm will taxidermy Morris and put him on display for visitors in an effort to preserve his memory.
'We have decided to get Morris taxidermied so that he can continue to scare children for years to come. It's what he would have wanted,' Young wrote in a post on Instagram on Monday.

Ironically, Morris' character in 'Happy Gilmore' was also taxidermized after the titular character hunted him down as revenge for biting off the hand of his golf legend and mentor friend Chubbs.
Colorado Gator Farm is located in San Luis Valley, Co., displays dozens of reptiles, and is open to the public.

For Hawke's character, given his fate in the preceding flick, it looks like his role as The Grabber has expanded into a more supernatural threat. Scott Derrickson returned to direct the follow-up for Blumhouse and Universal which was once again written by C. Robert Cargill and Derrickson. The two seem to have cracked a great idea that made producing a sequel a worthwhile endeavor. Black Phone 2 is scheduled to hit theaters later this year on October 17, 2025. TV Ratings: ‘Squid Game' Rules, But Broadcast Series Make Strong Showing in Multiplatform Rankings
With streaming now the platform of choice for the largest share of TV viewers in the U.S., it would seem logical that a streaming show would top the ratings rather than a traditional network show. As it turns out, that's correct: Netflix's Squid Game is, by a sizable margin, the most-watched series of the 2024-25 season. But in Nielsen's multiplatform ratings, which measure viewing over five weeks and across all outlets, a number of broadcast series are still commanding large audiences. All of them average at least 11.5 million viewers per episode across their network showings and streaming over five weeks. CBS' Tracker is the top network show and fourth overall with 17.6 million viewers via CBS and Paramount+. Squid Game, whose second season premiered in late December, racked up 27.1 million viewers in the 35-day window. Netflix's Adolescence (19 million) and Prime Video's Reacher (18.1 million) rank second and third, and two other network series, first-year breakouts Matlock (CBS) and High Potential (ABC), are tied for fifth overall at 16.1 million viewers. This season is the first in which Nielsen has released multiplatform data showing how outlets compare. Adam Sandler is putting a new spin on his beloved titular golfer in the full trailer for the Netflix sequel movie Happy Gilmore 2. During Saturday's fan event Tudum at the Kia Forum in the Los Angeles area, Netflix debuted the trailer for director Kyle Newacheck's new comedy that is set to begin streaming July 25. Earlier this year, Dugan teased Kelce's role in the sequel. 'His acting was really good and funny, and he was just a genuinely nice guy,' Dugan told THR at the time. 'I met him for a day and a half, loved working with him, and now every time he catches a pass on TV, I say, 'My best friend caught another pass.'' During an interview with the Dan Patrick Show that aired late last year, Sandler admitted to feeling pressure to live up to the original movie that hit theaters Feb. 16, 1996. 'It's on your mind,' Sandler said at the time. 'We've got a lot of good stuff, and we just want to make sure that it all comes together and keeps it going from start to finish, and that's the goal.
