I don't think about it – Liverpool's Florian Wirtz unfazed by £100m price tag
However, speaking after impressing in a 3-2 friendly win over Athletic Bilbao on Monday evening, the 22-year-old brushed off the figures involved.
'I don't think about it. I just want to play football and how much money the clubs pay between each other, it doesn't matter,' he said.
'Of course the big challenge is to win the title again and it is the most difficult thing so (I will) try and just create chances and also work against the ball.
'I can also run a lot so (I will) bring this to the team and then with the ball I can make the team better and bring my team-mates into better situations.
'I came because I thought I could fit in this team and I am enjoying to play with these players and getting every time a little bit better so I am happy with how it is going.'
Wirtz's game is based around carrying the ball with purpose and bringing team-mates into play with his close control and lots of touches in and around the penalty area.

However, he will also provide a goal threat – he scored 57 times in 197 appearances for Leverkusen – and almost broke the deadlock against Bilbao with a header which clipped the crossbar.
He may find the Premier League is less forgiving than the Bundesliga but he is looking forward to finding out.
'I am a player who needs freedom on the pitch and the manager gives it to me because I have to respect the position and the players around me,' he added.
'I will try to find the right places to be and the right spaces to get the ball and to be dangerous and create chances – I have not played a match in the Premier League but I am looking forward and that is why I came.'

Asked whether he thought playing in England was more difficult than Germany and whether he would be able to continue to play his own game, he replied: 'To be honest, I don't know.
'There are some differences to Germany but I think there is also something I can learn and make me better so I am really looking forward to it.
'It's more intense and more physical, every player is really strong, really fast. That is what everybody is telling me.'

Chelsea winger Estevao Willian offered an exciting vision into the future in his first appearance at Stamford Bridge. Palmer went off at half-time but Estevao continued to delight the fans, almost extending the lead in the 65th minute, drawing 'oohs and aahs' from the fans. Fellow new signings Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato made their first Chelsea appearances while Andrey Santos played well in midfield on his first appearance at Stamford Bridge after an 18-month loan spell at Strasbourg. Pedro, Liam Delap and Dario Essugo all featured in the Club World Cup but made their bows at Stamford Bridge on an impressive night overall for Chelsea who proved they had no hangover from the month-long Fifa having scored against Chelsea for his former club Palmeiras at the Club World Cup, Estevao's performance added another chapter to his growing folklore during 76 exciting minutes.

Benjamin Sesko paraded at Old Trafford after Man United confirm new signing
Manchester United unveiled new signing Benjamin Sesko to the Old Trafford faithful ahead of their final pre-season outing ahead of a crucial Premier League campaign. Sesko's £66.5m move from RB Leipzig, which could rise to £73.3m if add-ons are triggered, was confirmed on Saturday morning as Ruben Amorim took his spending in the summer transfer window to over £200m. He is United's third major signing of the summer, joining marquee arrivals Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo through the door, the Slovenian striker was welcomed to a rapturous reception at the 'Theatre of Dreams' prior to his new side's clash against Fiorentina. The 22-year-old scored 21 goals for RB Leipzig last season and is brought in to address problems up front for the Red Devils, with United's two main centre-forwards last season - Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee - scoring just seven Premier League goals between them as the team mustered only 44. Sesko could have joined Newcastle United but opted for the 20-time English champions in what was another blow for Eddie Howe in the Magpies' disastrous summer. Newcastle have also failed in their attempts to sign Hugo Ekitike, who went to Liverpool, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, who chose Chelsea, and Bryan Mbeumo, who likewise preferred United. Sesko was also on Arsenal's shortlist for a centre-forward this summer before they decided to buy Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting instead. Ollie Watkins, who has Premier League experience with Aston Villa but is seven years older. Hoping to be the final piece of the puzzle to reshape Man United's front line, Amorim will utilise the trio of Sesko, Mbeumo and Cunha to try and vastly improve on last season, which saw them finish 15th in the Premier League and lose out to Tottenham in the Europa League final. Amorim has been pleased with his team's performances in pre-season, notching wins against West Ham and Bournemouth in the Premier League Summer Series, but the real test will come on August 17 when the Red Devils kick off their season at home to Arsenal.

Rodri could leave Man City as club sweat on decision after worrying Pep Guardiola update
Rodri picked up another injury during Manchester City's campaign at the Club World Cup and now his future with the side has been placed in doubt after fresh reports Manchester City will be without Rodri at the start of the Premier League season – and could be at risk of losing their key midfielder entirely. City were forced to play almost the entire 2024/25 campaign without Rodri after he ruptured his ACL in September. The Spanish midfielder made his return from injury over the summer, playing five times, before he picked up another injury at the Club World Cup. Rodri was forced off the pitch in the 4-3 defeat by Al-Hilal in the last 16 of the competition at the start of July with a groin problem. And City are being careful not to rush him back, given his injury history, with Pep Guardiola explaining that he won't be fully fit until September. 'Rodri's getting better but he had a big injury in the last game against Al-Hilal and for the last five or six weeks,' said Guardiola. 'He's training right now and in the last two or three days is better. Hopefully maybe the international break is when he will be really, really fit. 'Hopefully, in the games (prior to that) he can play some minutes, but the important thing is to not have pain because we don't want him to come back and get injured. We will try desperately to avoid that but he's been training [in] the last two or three days with us and that's good.' What makes matters worse for City is there is now some uncertainty surrounding the future of Rodri. The 29-year-old midfielder is under contract with City until June 2027 and is approaching the time when he will have to sign a new deal, or leave. Spanish newspaper AS has stirred the pot by reporting that Rodri has not decided what he wants to do after being made aware of interest from Real Madrid. The Ballon d'Or winner is reportedly not in a rush to make up his mind, which may worry City. City are ready to offer Rodri a two-year contract extension which would make him close to the club's top-earner, alongside Erling Haaland. The report states that there are now alarm bells ringing at City, who view Real as a real threat. The Spanish giants want to sign a new central midfielder and view Madrid-born Rodri as a perfect addition for Xabi Alonso's side. They are ready to wait it out in the hope that Rodri runs down his deal and forces an exit for a lower price. Rodri used to play for Real's rivals Atletico Madrid, but that doesn't seem to be a barrier towards a move to Alonso's side. City begin their Premier League campaign against Wolves on August 16 and have other injury worries in the form of Phil Foden and Mateo Kovacic, who were both left out of the travelling squad for Saturday's friendly against Palermo in Sicily. Asked if they might make the Wolves game, Guardiola said: 'Ninety minutes for Rodri, I don't think so. Phil, hopefully, it depends on the problem but it's a long week so hopefully, but Kova [is] injured until September or October. Hopefully [he will be back] earlier.'
