This Tiny CarPlay Adapter Is Almost Free at Best Buy With Limited Stock, Works With Both Android and iPhone
If your car or truck is recent enough to have a factory installed Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto wired setup for your smartphone but not quite new or high-end enough for built-in wireless, you know what it's like to be at the mercy of that thin little USB cable. One good hard bump or jostle and your navigation app or hands-free phone call is suddenly gone. Even if your car can be upgraded to a fully wireless system, that's going to cost you — a lot.
The good news is you're actually one awesome Best Buy sale away from going fully wireless in your vehicle, and it doesn't matter if you use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Rexing CPW-22 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto Adapter is just $60 right now, a 40% drop from its regular price of $100.
The Rexing CPW-22 adapter plugs into the USB port you normally use to connect your smartphone, with both USB-A and USB-C options. The adapter itself is incredibly compact, just 3.4 x 2 inches and barely over a half-inch thick, so once it's connected you can stash it in the vehicle's center console. Since the Rexing CPW-22 only weighs one-tenth of a pound, you can even hide it beneath the console or elsewhere with a velcro strip (not included).
From there, you just pair your iPhone (iOS 10 or higher) or Android (OS 11 or higher) to the Rexing CPW-22 as you would any other Bluetooth device. Once it's paired, it behaves exactly as if the phone was hardwired to that USB port, except now with a truly wireless connection, you have far more freedom for where you want to mount your phone, and never have to worry about the phone being jostled free from the port.
The connection between the Rexing CPW-22 and your vehicle is a strong dual-band 5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signal that won't glitch out on you, and once you pair your smartphone, the Rexing CPW-22 will recognize and automatically pair with your phone every time. Your vehicle's screen will mirror your phone's CarPlay or Android Auto screen, and even the steering wheel controls will work if your vehicle is so equipped.
While it will only connect with one device at a time, it can be paired with multiple smartphones for shared vehicles. One consideration to keep in mind — your smartphone will not charge wirelessly via the Rexing CPW-22.
The Rexing CPW-22 will make virtually any vehicle with a hardwired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto setup truly wireless. Best Buy's $40 discount is your chance to give your vehicle a significant and convenient upgrade for just $60.

Toyota's Prices Are Going Up
In the market for a new Toyota? Better get to the dealership soon. Toyota will begin hiking prices for its vehicles by an average of $270 beginning in July. According to Automotive News , these latest price increases aren't in response to President Trump's 25-percent tariff on imported vehicles and auto parts. A company spokesperson said it's simply "part of our regular review of the prices." Lexus buyers won't be off the hook for additional costs, either. Prices for Toyota's luxury brand are expected to increase by an average of $208 beginning in July. Toyota & Tariffs Even though the company denies that these latest price hikes are in response to tariffs, in May, Toyota Motor North America Chief Operating Officer Mark Templin said that President Trump's plan would result in higher prices and more expensive repair bills. Templin stated: 'When it comes to tariffs on auto parts, it's important to understand the supply chains are global, they're complex, and they're very fragile. And many of the suppliers are not capitalized for an abrupt tariff. So levies on parts will negatively impact the automobile supply chain and lead to higher prices, lower vehicle sales, and will make servicing and repairing vehicles more expensive for customers.' That said, a report from Reuters suggests that Toyota is considering moving production of the newest RAV4 to the US, rather than importing from Canada and Japan. Toyota produced the outgoing RAV4 in Kentucky, Canada, and Japan, but could keep production of the next-generation model in Kentucky. The Toyota RAV4 was the best-selling SUV in the US last year and the fourth best-selling vehicle overall, with more than 475,000 units sold. Car Prices Are Going Up Toyota isn't the only automaker expected to raise prices this year. BMW has announced that it will start hiking prices in July in response to Trump's tariffs, with some models increasing by as much as $2,500. BMW did offer a temporary "price protect" program for the 2 Series and 3 Series models through April. Volkswagen also plans to increase prices in July after announcing pre-tariff pricing through June. The Jetta sedan and Taos SUV, which are both produced in Mexico, are expected to be hit hardest by price increases next month. Other brands like Ford, Subaru, and Volvo have already raised prices on their vehicles—some models by as much as $2,000. More on Tariffs Car Shipments to the US Have Fallen. Which Death Stranding 2 Edition Should You Buy?
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on June 26 exclusively for the PlayStation 5, but those who buy a special edition of the game can access it early. The question is, with three options available, which special edition version should you get? Death Stranding 2 is the sequel to legendary developer Hideo Kojima's 2019 game, and it improves on every aspect of the original, making it a title anyone remotely interested in it should play. The edition you decide to purchase will entirely depend on how much of a fan you are of the franchise. Now Playing: Unboxing the Death Stranding 2 PS5 Controller 00:45 Up first is the Standard Edition, which retails for $70. Ordering the Standard Edition of Death Stranding 2 from Sony comes with the same 48-hour early access that all editions have, which will begin at 12 a.m. ET on June 24 and 9 p.m. ET on June 23. Kojima Productions Included in this edition is some additional digital content: Quokka Hologram Battle Skeleton: Silver (LV1, LV2, LV3) Boost Skeleton: Silver (LV1, LV2, LV3) Bokka Skeleton: Silver (LV1, LV2, LV3) Holograms get unlocked the more you play through the game. These holograms can be placed at structures that the main character, Sam, builds as a little sign that you were there. Skeletons are equippable and help Sam physically while allowing him to carry more items. The Battle Skeleton lets Sam do more damage with physical attacks, the Boost Skeleton helps Sam run faster while carrying a lot of items and the Bokka Skeleton helps Sam climb up certain terrains while being more balanced, so he won't tip over. This content, however, is just a cosmetic color for the Skeleton. It will not unlock the item, as that has to be done by completing missions in the game. Next, there's the Digital Deluxe Edition for $80. Kojima Productions The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the 48-hour early access and the Skeleton cosmetics, although in this edition, it's gold and not silver. This edition also comes with: Machine Gun (MP Bullets) LV1 early unlock Quokka Patch Chiral Feline Patch Why Me? Patch The Machine Gun is a weapon you get later in the game, and it's powerful thanks to its large magazine filled with bullets. It can shoot for longer than the Assault Rifle found early in the game. MP Bullets are the standard type of bullets found in the game that can damage humans, BTs and robots. The patches are for Sam's backpack. They are strictly cosmetic and offer no in-game advantage. Then, for the big fans of Death Stranding, there's the Collector's Edition that costs $230. Kojima Productions The Collector's Edition comes with all the digital content from the Deluxe Edition in addition to some real-life collectibles in a collector's box. It includes: 15-inch Magellan Man Statue 3-inch Dollman figurine Art cards Letter from Hideo Kojima All of these editions are available to order now.

Xbox App For PC Now Integrates Your Steam Games
The Xbox App on PC is now integrating purchased titles from people's gaming libraries across various supported storefronts, including Steam, Microsoft said in a press release on Monday. This feature is currently limited to those in the Xbox Insider program, which gives early access to software updates. Windows users can get access to the Xbox Insider Hub here. The update aggregates all titles across supported PC gaming storefronts to turn the Xbox App into a universal launcher. This is especially handy for users who buy games on Steam, and other storefronts. Microsoft didn't provide a full list of which storefronts are currently supported. A representative for Microsoft didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Xbox as universal gaming hub The push for Xbox to become a universal gaming hub rather than a distinct separate environment comes as Microsoft hasn't been able to gain ground against PlayStation and Nintendo. As of September 2024, the Sony PlayStation 5 has sold 61.7 million units versus Xbox' 28.3 million, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal citing Aldora Intelligence. To chart the future of Xbox, Microsoft seems to be taking a more egalitarian approach. Last week, Microsoft said that it's actively developing its next generation gaming ecosystem, which will encompass console, handheld, PC and Cloud. This falls in line with Xbox' recent marketing strategy of calling every screen you own an Xbox. Rumors are even pointing to an Xbox-branded Meta Quest 3S headset. Xbox president Sarah Bond said that the Xbox division is working closely with the Windows team to ensure that "Windows is the number-one platform for gaming." This implies that the next Xbox might resemble something closer to a gaming PC. A vision of this experience was shown at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month with the reveal of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally handheld.
