NPCL and TERI to study Greater Noida's future power needs
The seven-month data analysis study will focus on load research and demand-side management (DSM), aiming to enhance energy efficiency, ensure uninterrupted supply, and guide sustainable power practices in the city.
"Insights from this study will help develop tailored DSM programmes, allowing consumers to efficiently manage their electricity use," a spokesperson from NPCL said, adding that this partnership aims to empower consumers and strengthen the electricity network across the city.

The MoU was signed at NPCL's corporate office in Greater Noida by NPCL's managing director and CEO, PR Kumar, and director general of TERI, Dr Vibha Dhawan.
"The study is NPCL's commitment to adopting innovative and efficient solutions for a greener tomorrow," said Kumar.
A TERI official said that the move will also pave the way for greater adoption of energy-saving solutions and renewable power, leading to lower electricity bills and cleaner air for all.
On the occasion, Dr Vibha Dhawan highlighted TERI's dedication to advancing sustainable energy practices through research-driven strategies and implementation support.

NPCL has also launched an initiative in the city to address monsoon-related issues and raise safety awareness. The initiative covers more than 100 urban and rural locations in zones 1 and 2. Apart from motorbike patrol teams, four network surveillance teams (NST) have also been deployed to ensure infrastructure safety.
The motorbike teams will conduct daily visits to various locations, distributing specially designed pamphlets on monsoon safety. These pamphlets aim to promote safe electrical practices.
