WBBSE Madhyamik result 2025: Class 10th results likely soon at wbbse.wb.gov.in, details here
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will likely declare the Madhyamik or Class 10th results today, May 2. Once out, eligible candidates can download their results from the official website wbbse.wb.gov.in.
As per a report by The Indian Express, Class 10th examinations were conducted between February 10 and February 22, 2025. To qualify the exam, the students must secure an aggregate of 33% marks. Students who are dissatisfied with their results may request a result re-evaluation following the result declaration.

If becoming an IPS officer was what people were willing to do in order to salute her with such reverence, then that was what she was going to become. According to the Onmanorama, Ambika cleared the Class 10th examination via private coaching. . But there was no Civil Service examination coaching centre in Dindigul. Her husband arranged a place for her to stay in Chennai and said he would look after the children. But Ambika flunked in her exams. The couple did not lose hope, and she attempted again only to fail once more. When she failed the third time, her husband instructed her to pack her bags, but Ambika wished to go for one more attempt. She succeeded this time in the mains, prelims, and the interview of the Civil service test. Her name was short-listed for the 2008 IPS list. Her first assignment was in Maharashtra and within no time she gained the sobriquet of 'Lady Singham.' In 2019 while she was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Maharashtra, she was selected for the Lokmath Maharashtrian of the Year award.

Devdutta Majhi, who made headlines by topping the West Bengal Madhyamik exams in 2023 and securing the 6th position in the Higher Secondary exams, has now achieved yet another extraordinary milestone. She has emerged as the female topper in JEE Advanced 2025, earning an impressive All India Rank 16 in the Common Rank List with 312 marks. She also topped the state of West Bengal and the IIT Kharagpur zone. Hailing from the IIT Kharagpur zone, she is one of the five students from the region to make it to the top 100. A student of Katwa Durgadasi Chaudhurani Girls' High School, Devdutta's consistent academic brilliance has now been stamped with national-level success. She chose to prepare from home, using online resources to clear her doubts and improve her understanding. She also regularly practiced through mock tests to sharpen her skills. After finishing her Madhyamik exams in 2023, Devdutta followed a strict study routine, dedicating at least 10 hours a day for JEE preparation. Speaking to The Times of India, she said, 'I had a clear goal i.e. to crack JEE Advanced. I avoided all social events, family functions, and distractions to stay focused.' 'You need a proper study plan and consistent practice over two years. At the end of the day, self-study is the most effective tool,' she shared. What makes her achievement even more meaningful is the personal sacrifice that came with it. Devdutta, who used to love playing the violin, set it aside completely during her preparation. 'I didn't touch my violin for two years. It was something I loved deeply, but I knew I had to give it up. The only break I allowed myself was talking to my mother about my studies,' she said with a smile. After securing AIR 16 in JEE Advanced 2025 and emerging as the female topper, Devdutta now wants to get admission in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She wants to explore the world of artificial intelligence and robotics, especially in the field of research. The JEE Advanced 2025, conducted on May 18, saw 1.8 lakh candidates appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Out of those, 54,378 students qualified, including 9,404 girls.

Speaking to The Times of India , she described her success as the outcome of two years of unwavering self-discipline and focussed self-study. Unlike many aspirants who rely on coaching hubs, Devdutta carved her own path. She studied independently, took online classes to clear doubts, and regularly appeared for mock tests — all from the confines of her home. Her routine after Madhyamik 2023 became one of intense dedication—clocking in at least 10 hours of study every day. 'I had set my goal to crack JEE Advanced to pursue my dreams. I distanced myself from all programmes, family gatherings, and other distractions to focus solely on my studies,' Devdutta shared. 'Coaching centres can't do everything. Cracking exams like JEE Mains and Advanced requires a systematic study plan and daily practice for at least two years. Nothing works better than self-study,' she added. What made this journey more personal was what she gave up along the way. 'I stopped playing the violin, which used to be my favourite pastime. I only picked it up again after the exam. For two years, the only recreation I allowed myself was chatting with my mother about my preparation,' she recalled with a smile. We've been waiting for this day for two years. We both sacrificed everything for this moment, and I'm so proud she achieved what she dreamed of,' she said emotionally. Devdutta's father, a physics professor, stays in Asansol and has also been a strong pillar of support. Now, Devdutta plans to join IISc Bangalore to pursue a career in artificial intelligence and robotics, with a keen interest in research. In the JEE Advanced 2025, held on 18 May, a total of 1.8 lakh candidates appeared for both Papers 1 and 2. Out of these, 54,378 qualified, including 9,404 female candidates. Apart from Devdutta, four other candidates from the IIT Kharagpur zone made it to the top 100: Hans Daruka (Rank 39), Aritro Ray (Rank 50), Sanyajyoti Biswas (Rank 63), and Nabaneet Priyadarshi (Rank 97).
