
Persistent Systems Q1 PAT climbs 7% QoQ to Rs 425 cr
On a year on year basis, the companys net profit and revenue 38.7% and 21.8% QoQ in Q1 FY26.
Profit before tax (PBT) stood at Rs 555.41 crore, up 9.94% QoQ and 63.9% YoY.
EBIT in the June 2025 quarter, EBIT improved 2.5% to Rs 517.81 crore, compared to Rs 505.29 crore in Q4 FY25. The EBITDA margin also increased to 15.5%, up from 14% in the same period last year.
In dollar terms, the IT firms revenue stood at $389.7 million in Q1 FY26, up 18.8% YoY and 3.9% QoQ.
The order booking for the quarter ended on 30th June 2025, was at $520.8 million in total contract value (TCV) and at $385.3 million in annual contract value (ACV) terms.

Direct tax includes taxes on income paid by companies, individuals, and by professionals, and other entities. Net corporate tax collection stood at about Rs 2.29 trillion, while non-corporate tax (which includes individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) and firms) was at Rs 4.12 trillion. Securities Transaction Tax (STT) mop-up was Rs 22,362 crore between April 1-August 11. Total net collections stood at about Rs 6.64 trillion, a 3.95 per cent fall over Rs 6.91 trillion collected in the same period last fiscal (2024-25). Refunds issued so far this fiscal jumped 10 per cent to Rs 1.35 trillion. Gross collections (before refunds) stood at Rs 7.99 trillion between April 1-August 11, a 1.87 per cent dip over Rs 8.14 trillion in the year-ago period. In the current fiscal (2025-26), the government has projected its direct tax collection at Rs 25.20 trillion, up 12.7 per cent year-on-year. The government aims to collect Rs 78,000 crore from STT in FY26. Karur Vysya Bank expands footprint in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh
Private sector Karur Vysya Bank has strengthened its footprint with the inauguration of three new branches in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The Karur-based bank has opened a new branch in KK Nagar, Udayanpatti, Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, Thane in Maharashtra, and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, the bank's Managing Director and CEO Ramesh Babu said. The new branches, which were inaugurated on Monday, would offer a comprehensive range of banking services including accounts, deposits and loans. It would also provide all banking transactions and would meet the specific needs of the customers, a press release from the bank said on Tuesday. Commenting on the branch expansion, Babu said, It is a part of the strategic initiative to strengthen the bank's presence in potential markets and bring services closer to customers. "At KVB, we are continuously working to enhance our service delivery through a combination of physical branches and digital platforms. Last financial year, we opened 50 new branches, and we plan to further strengthen our presence this year to support our growing customer base," the Managing Director said. The bank's mobile application KVB DLite, has been recently upgraded and offers over 150 financial and non-financial services, he said. On July 25, Karur Vysya Bank for the April-June 2025 quarter reported a net profit of Rs 521.45 crore, up from Rs 458.65 crore registered in the year-ago period. The total income during the quarter under review grew to Rs 3,015.80 crore, from Rs 2,672.88 crore registered during the corresponding quarter of last financial year.

This ace investor increases stake in LIC-backed NBFC stock

This involved purchasing 43,15,000 shares, bringing her total holding to 4,67,32,362 shares. Previously, Nimisha Pandey held 4,24,17,362 shares, representing 4.70 per cent of the company's total share/voting capital. The shares of Paisalo Digital Limited are listed on both the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited. Nimisha Pandey is identified as an acquirer, acting in concert, and is not part of the Promoter/Promoter group. Additionally, the company's Operations and Finance Committee approved the allotment of 3,400 Rated, Listed, Senior, Secured, Redeemable, Taxable, Transferable, Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) through a private placement. Each NCD has a face value of Rupees One Lakh, resulting in a total issuance of Rs 340,000,000. These debentures carry a coupon interest rate of 9.75 per cent per annum, payable quarterly, and have a tenure of 36 months. The NCDs are secured by a first-ranking pari-passu charge on loan receivables, maintaining a security cover of 1.10 times the outstanding principal. In case of a delay in interest or principal payment exceeding three months, the default interest rate will be the coupon rate plus 2 per cent per annum.
