Abu Dhabi: Al Masaood Automobiles (AMA), the authorised distributor for Nissan in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra Region, has announced its continued sponsorship as the Official Automotive Partner of the highly anticipated 4th edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports (ADSS) 2025. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in collaboration with ADNEC Group, the event will run throughout the summer months until August, hosted across two premier locations – ADNEC Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Centre.
Building on the success of previous events, ADSS 2025 is set to attract over 130,000 sports enthusiasts and families, solidifying the capital's reputation as a leading leisure and sports destination. With its vibrant mix of activities tailored for all fitness levels, ADSS promotes an inclusive atmosphere, encouraging health, wellness, and camaraderie.
As the Official Automotive Partner for the second consecutive year, Al Masaood Automobiles will feature dynamic display spaces, bringing visitors a line-up of Nissan's most distinctive models and engaging them through unique, interactive experiences.
This year's showcase will include the iconic Nissan Patrol, ideal for drivers who value strength, capability, and refined presence. The inaugural Abu Dhabi World Grappling Championship 2025 will officially begin on Friday, August 1, at ADNEC Centre Al Ain. Organised by International Vision Sports Management (IVSM), the three-day event will run until August 3 and is expected to bring together hundreds of athletes from more than 20 countries to the Al Ain Region, Abu Dhabi. This initiative is held in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) and under the banner of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP). The official press conference to announce the completion of preparations was held Thursday at ADNEC Centre Al Ain and was attended Saeed Al Dhaheri, Destination Management Department Director at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Tareq Al Bahri, General Manager of International Vision Sports Management. Several top athletes participating in the event, including Fellipe Andrew (Brazil), Leticia Cardozo (Brazil), Tamerlan Eslemesov (Russia), Liisi Vaht (Estonia), Salem Al Qubaisi (UAE), and Pouya Rahmani (Iran) were also present. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director of Destination Management at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said, 'Hosting the inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi World Grappling Championship in Al Ain Region is an unprecedented milestone for the Middle East and North Africa region. It reflects the growth of the sports sector in the UAE and strengthens our position as a global hub for elite combat sports events. 'This event aligns with the Department's strategic vision to meet rising global demand for combat sports, including grappling, which is one of the world's fastest-growing disciplines. At the Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi, we believe in the power of sports to bring people together, stimulate the tourism economy, and deliver exceptional experiences, particularly in Al Ain Region, a city rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty.' Tareq Al Bahri, General Manager of IVSM, said the organising team is fully prepared to deliver a seamless and high-calibre experience for both athletes and fans. He added that the strong international turnout reflects the sport's rapid global growth and Abu Dhabi's rising profile as a destination for combat sports. The competition will begin with professional and 35+ category matches through to the semi-final stage on the opening day. The youth and amateur divisions will take place on the second day, while the final day will feature third-place playoffs and championship finals for the professional categories. Winners will receive 2,000 AJP ranking points and substantial cash prizes, under AJP Tour regulations.

Hotel establishments in Abu Dhabi continued their positive performance in May 2025, driven by higher occupancy rates and an increasing number of international guests. The sector recorded total revenues of Dhs682 million, reflecting the sustained growth of the emirate's tourism and hospitality industry. According to preliminary data from the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, released by the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi, the breakdown of hotel revenues for the month includes Dhs408 million from room revenues, Dhs224 million from food and beverage services, and AED50 million from other sources. Abu Dhabi's hotels welcomed approximately 481,000 guests in May 2025, highlighting the emirate's growing appeal as a world-class tourism destination. This growth is supported by the diversity of accommodation options and the high standards of hospitality services. A total of 172 hotel establishments were in operation in Abu Dhabi during the month, offering 34,383 rooms. The total number of guest nights exceeded 1.345 million, with an occupancy rate of 80%. The average revenue per available room reached Dhs490. Guests from non-Arab Asian countries topped the list with 155,000 visitors, followed by Europeans with 112,000, and UAE nationals with 88,000, indicating the sector's continued momentum and the emirate's position as a preferred destination for global travellers. Hotels also hosted 31,000 guests from GCC countries, 52,000 from other Arab nations, 25,000 from North and South America, and 8,000 from non-Arab African countries, along with visitors from various other global markets. By category, five-star hotels received the largest number of guests, with 236,000 visitors, led by 72,000 European guests. Meanwhile, four-star hotels accommodated 126,000 guests, while hotels rated three stars or below welcomed 70,000, and hotel apartments hosted 50,000 guests. WAM

The names will be revealed following the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi World Grappling Championship.
