Texas A&M (27-23, 10-17 SEC) will be on the road for their last SEC series of the regular season against No. 10 Georgia (40-13, 16-11 SEC) at Foley Field in Athens, Ga.
It's been a tough stretch for first-year Texas A&M head coach Michael Earley. Just when his team seemed to find momentum, they suffered a costly sweep against the SEC's weakest team. With postseason hopes fading, the Aggies must now sweep Georgia and make a deep SEC Tournament run to keep their NCAA Regional chances alive.
Texas A&M leads the all-time series against Georgia 15-8, going 6-4 in their last 10 matchups. Their most recent meeting ended in a dominant 19-9 run-rule victory. Last season's series sparked controversy over foreign substances in pitching, but Texas A&M responded with a dramatic comeback win. Now, the Aggies need that same resilience as they fight to extend their season and secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Falcons work out former top-10 draft pick, per report

According to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Atlanta Falcons worked out cornerback C.J. Henderson on Thursday afternoon and are contemplating whether or not to sign the former first-round pick. Henderson was selected ninth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2020, but his career has yet to live up to his draft status. The 26-year-old played just 10 games in Jacksonville before getting traded to the Carolina Panthers. He spent three seasons in Carolina (2021-2023) but did not return in 2024. Over his five NFL seasons, Henderson has appeared in 49 games (32 starts), recording three interceptions, 16 passes defended, two forced fumbles and one sack. Last season, the former Florida Gator signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was placed on the injured reserve list and did not appear in a single game. The Falcons signed safety Henry Black and released wide receiver Makai Polk from their 90-man training camp roster on Thursday morning. Atlanta also worked out former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead on Wednesday as the team looks to add more secondary depth. Check out the Falcons' updated 90-man roster following Tuesday's transactions. This article originally appeared on Falcons Wire: Atlanta Falcons work out former top-10 pick C.J. Henderson

Freshman wide receiver continues to impress the Texas A&M coaching staff this summer

Texas A&M's 2025 wide receiver rotation now features KC Concepcion (NC State) and Mario Craver (Mississippi State), while the return of Terry Bussey, Ashton Bethel-Roman, and Izaiah Williams should help starting quarterback Marcel Reed in the passing game due to the added speed, quickness, and ability to separate in coverage. On Wednesday, during the Aggies' first preseason practice, one of the program's underrated 2025 signees, wide receiver TK Norman, impressed during his first showing, displaying the quickness and fluid route running many of us expected from the Montgomery, Alabama native during his rise in the recruiting rankings after his senior season at Carver HS. During his senior season, Norman reeled in 31 receptions, 629 yards, and six touchdowns, and averaged over 20 yards per reception. According to most recruiting outlets, Norman was considered a three-star prospect outside of 247Sports, where he finished as a four-star recruit. Still, it's been confusing why he was ranked so low, but that doesn't matter now, as it's his time to shine during his first collegiate season. Earlier this summer, Mike Elko discussed Norman's growth, including adding a reported 20 pounds while working with S&C coach Tommy Moffitt, which has not hindered his speed or quickness. "Really excited about him. And then you just even go down to like some young kids. I was talking to TK Norman the other day. Like, TK Norman has put on 20 pounds and all kinds of muscle. That's 20-pound body weight since he got here. He showed up at 165. He's 185 right now." Norman will be working towards a spot in the 2025 rotation, as KC Concepcion, Mario Craver, Terry Bussey, and either Ashton Bethel-Roman or Izaiah Williams are expected to earn the first four spots, but if Norman continues to impress the staff during the preseason, don't be surprised if he sees the field as soon as the 2025 season opener vs. UTSA. FAMU football's Ashton Grable, TJ Huggins named to 2025 HBCU Player of the Year Watch List

Florida A&M's Ashton Grable and TJ Huggins are expected to be among the best HBCU football players during the 2025 season. The Rattler duo is of 20 named to Stats Perform's HBCU National Player of the Year Watch List, given to the top player of Black College football on the NCAA Division I level. Grable, an offensive lineman, anchors FAMU's frontline as he helped the Rattlers have the third-best offense in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder from Gordon, Georgia, has also been named a Preseason All-SWAC First Teamer, FCS All-American Third Team, and a 2025 Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List member entering his redshirt senior year. Huggins, a cornerback, earned the preseason HBCU Player of the Year nomination after leading FAMU with three interceptions last year. Huggins also made the Preseason All-SWAC First Team. The Miami native will be a redshirt senior this year, too. FAMU football will open its 2025 season on Aug. 30 in the Orange Blossom Classic versus Howard at Miami Gardens' Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. Training camp begins on Friday, Aug. 1. The Rattlers return from having a 7-5 record last season.
