How to watch the 2025 MLB Draft today

The time has come to find out where Texas A&M standout and record-holder Jace LaViolette will hear his name called in the 2025 MLB Draft. Last year, following a College World Series runner-up finish, A&M had seven players drafted, only Ryan Prager chose not to sign and instead returned to Aggieland. This past season didn't go as the Aggies hoped under first-year head coach Michael Earley. Despite a stronger second half, it was too little, too late. Losing the series to the winless Missouri Tigers sealed their fate. As expected, a few key players—LaViolette, Justin Lamkin, and Kaeden Kent—all ranked in ESPN's Top 250 MLB prospects, are likely headed to the draft. But it's not just current players whose futures are uncertain. Five incoming freshmen and transfer Maddox Latta also have MLB interest. Coach Earley enters year two needing significant help and, like the rest of us, will have to wait to see how his roster shapes up in the coming weeks. Texas A&M pitcher will reportedly transfer to Dallas Baptist for the 2026 season

Texas A&M's 2026 pitching rotation is still in good shape, for now, at least, as ace Ryan Prager and starter Justin Lamkin have yet to make their decision regarding their baseball future before the 2025 MLB Draft. This offseason, coach Michael Earley, who was given another shot this offseason after the Aggies failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 years, landed pitchers MJ Bollinger (Florida Atlantic), Ethan Darden (Clemson), and Carson Bailey (Baylor) from the portal last month. However, amid the A&M departures, the most significant loss has been sophomore relief pitcher Luke Jackson. During his first full season on the Mound, Jackson was one of the rising arms in the Aggie bullpen, experiencing the many ups and downs that come with being a pitcher in the SEC. However, he had his share of impressive moments, showcasing his arm talent that will be missed next season. After just a few weeks in the portal, it was revealed that Jackson has found his next college home, as it was shown on Tuesday that he will stay in Texas and transfer to Dallas Baptist for the 2026 campaign. Losing Jackson to a smaller, but respectable program like Dallas Baptist does sting, but at least the Aggies won't face him in the SEC next season. During his 18 appearances on the Mound in 2025, Jackson struck out 24 while allowing 12 walks and looked to be on his way to becoming a key option in games during conference play. Still, the Aggies are in good shape right now, but could lose Shane Sdao, Ryan Prager, and Justin Lamkin to the MLB Draft. Big 12 pitcher reportedly cancelled his visit to Texas A&M

Big 12 pitcher reportedly cancelled his visit to Texas A&M Texas A&M's pitching future is uncertain, as starters Ryan Prager and Justin Lamkin have yet to announce their plans for the upcoming season. Both could easily declare for the 2025 MLB Draft, particularly after Lamkin's impressive 2024 season. Prager, who was selected in the third round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels, did not have his best season and should consider returning for a final season. However, head coach Michael Earely, who will return for his second season at the helm, has landed two arms from the transfer portal, including Rutgers closer Preston Prince, who threw as high as 98 MPH last season. Still, this is just a start, and according to College Baseball Central reporter Andrew Riedell, one of Texas A&M's scheduled visitors has canceled his plans. Riedell reported that Baylor LHP Carson Bailey was supposed to visit the Aggies this coming Tuesday, but will now consider other options, as he is being heavily pursued by several SEC programs who are all in need of pitching depth in the transfer portal age. While this isn't the best news for Earley and pitching coach Jason Kelly, the competition for pitchers in the portal is fierce, and Bailey could end up rescheduling a visit with the program shortly while he looks at other options. During his 2025 freshman season, Bailey finished with a 4.89 ERA and 56 strikeouts.
