Telangana: Passing out parade held for 347 CISF trainees at NISA
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 7 (ANI): The Passing out parade of the 49th batch of Sub-Inspector trainees was held with grandeur at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA), CISF, Hakimpet, Hyderabad.
Nilima Rani Singh, Inspector General, CISF Central Sector, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she commended the dedication, perseverance, and professionalism demonstrated by the trainees throughout their training.
She emphasised the significance of their achievement and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service as they step into operational roles. The ceremony was attended by senior CISF officers, stakeholders, senior civil and police officials, and the proud families of the graduating officers.
The event marked the successful completion of rigorous training for 347 Sub-Inspectors, including 42 lady officers, who are now ready to join the ranks of the CISF.
In her address, she commended the dedication, perseverance, and professionalism demonstrated by the trainees throughout their training. She emphasised the significance of their achievement and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service as they step into operational roles.
The ceremony was attended by senior CISF officers, stakeholders, senior civil and police officials, and the proud families of the graduating officers.
The contingents comprised 305 male and 42 female Sub-Inspectors, who completed comprehensive training in both indoor and outdoor domains. The curriculum included a wide spectrum of subjects such as Industrial Security Management, Aviation Security, Disaster Management, VIP Security, Leadership Skills, Soft Skills, and tactical training in Urban Operations, Jungle Warfare, and Weapon Handling with modern firearms.
The chief guest presented multiple awards to the outstanding trainees:
The All-Round Best and Best in Indoor Training award was given to Sub-Inspector Vanshika Tyagi; Best in Outdoor Training given to Sub-Inspector Dinesh; Best in Firing given to Sub-Inspector Neeraj Baghel.
This batch underwent Competency-Based Training (CBT), an advanced, outcome-oriented training methodology aimed at equipping officers for multifaceted operational roles.
'The adoption of CBT reflects NISA's commitment to developing high-calibre officers prepared to take on contemporary security challenges,' according to an official statement.
The training carried out by NISA has been recognised multiple times, as the institute received the National Award for Excellence in Training in 2016, by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT); the Finest India Skills & Talent (F.I.S.T) Award in 2017 by the Fire and Safety Association of India; Union Home Minister's Trophy for Best Training Institute in 2017 and 2020 among CAPFs, Accreditation as a 'UTKRISHT' institution in 2024 under NSCSTI; Recognition as a 'Centre of Excellence' in Industrial Security by the Government of India. He is now worried about the action the police department or government might take against told ANI, "I have only one last option, which is to fight this legally. I am waiting for a call from my DCP madam. Once she calls, I will go and explain my feelings to her. I'm hopeful she will respond positively. Siddaramiah on Sunday said that the concerned police officers have been suspended as arrangements were not adequate at Chinnaswamy said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) are making politically motivated allegations in the stampede case that took place during the RCB celebrations at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium."The BJP is making politically motivated allegations. Based on the information that appears to be available regarding the incident, the government has taken action against the police concerned," CM Siddaramaiah said that a judicial inquiry has been ordered as per the demand of the BJP and JDS. Similarly, action has been taken against the police. He said that the government personnel and administration departments had been given conditional permission to organise the the Bengaluru stampede that claimed 11 lives and left many injured, the Karnataka Government on June 5 suspended top police officials, including Bengaluru commissioner B Dayananda and formed a one-man commission under a retired High Court Judge to probe the incident.

Days after Raja Raghuvanshi's dead body was recovered, his wife Sonam and four others have been booked for allegedly planning his murder, news agency PTI reported. The couple went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. While Sonam and three others are arrested, the police are still searching for the fourth accused in the case. Here are key details on others accused in the case — The three accused were arrested in overnight raids, while Sonam surrendered before the police in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, Meghalaya DGP I Nongrang told PTI. Among the three accused, one person was apprehended from Uttar Pradesh, while two others were arrested from Madhya Pradesh's Indore, the DGP said. Sonam allegedly hired the arrested men to kill her husband, Nongrang added. "The operation is still continuing in Madhya Pradesh to catch some more persons involved in the crime," she said. Earlier, Albert Pde, a tourist guide in Mawlakhiat, revealed that an Indore couple were spotted with three on May 23, the day they went missing, the report said. Albert mentioned that he saw the couple climbing over 3,000 steps with three men, heading from Nongriat to Mawlakhiat at around 10 a.m. on May 23. He said that the three men with the couple were speaking in Hindi, suggesting that they were not from the region. The guide recognised the couple as he offered them services on May 22 to climb down the living root bridge in Nongriat. However, the couple refused his services and hired another guide. 24-year-old Sonam Raghuvanshi was found at Kashi Dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road. She was sent to Sadar Hospital for initial treatment and then kept in the One Stop Centre in Ghazipur, ANI reported, citing ADG Law and Order, Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Yash. Following the arrest of Sonam and others, Meghalaya CM appreciated the state police for quick action. Canadian journalist alleges assault by Khalistan supporters in Vancouver
An independent Canadian investigative journalist on Sunday alleged that he was physically assaulted and 'threatened' by a group of Khalistan supporters who reportedly also snatched his phone while he was reporting their rally in Vancouver. The journalist, Mocha Bezirgan, who posted his ordeal on social media platform X said that the Khalistani extremist movement in Canada has raised serious security concerns and strained ties between India and Canada. 'It just happened two hours ago and I'm still shaking,' Bezirgan told ANI in a phone interview. 'They acted like thugs - crowding in on me, grabbing my phone, trying to stop me recording.' The incident occurred while Bezirgan was in Vancouver city to cover a rally organised by Khalistan supporters. The Canadian journalist described the attack as 'thuggery' and said he was targeted for his editorial independence and past coverage of Khalistan-related protests. Earlier, he took to X to post, 'I've been surrounded by a group of Khalistanis who grabbed my phone out of my hand and threatened me. Naturally I'm a bit shaken, but not deterred.' Bezirgan further said that the pro-Khalistan movement has led to acts of vandalism, intimidation, and violent rhetoric, despite not being widespread within the Sikh community. On being asked about Khalistani extremism, the Canadian investigative journalist said, 'This is a movement headed by Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). They are the ones organising it, and most of the time, it's the same people attending these protests, be it in Ontario, British Columbia, US, UK, New Zealand. They mobilise people to come from local gurdwaras to create a little bit of crowd, but there are bigger political organisations like the World Sikh Organisation which is based in Canada that provide political cover for the movement. 'Their executives include current and former MPs and ministers, who have spread influence across Canadian institutions,' said the Canadian journalist. Bezirgan also expressed concern over the reluctance of Canadian politicians to condemn these extremist groups. 'Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, the NDP, and some Liberal MPs recently attended a Nagar Kirtan in Surrey, BC, which had significant Khalistani influence. They shared the stage with Santokh Singh Kelha, a convicted Sikh Canadian who conspired to bomb an airplane,' Bezirgan said. Bezirgan condemned the glorification of violence by these groups, who the journalist said speak openly about plans to ambush and kill India's current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'It is disturbing that Canadian politicians continue to associate with such extremists, despite their violent history and inflammatory rhetoric,' Bezirgan said. He warned that lack of media coverage and public awareness in Canada allows such events and political participation to go unchecked. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed on June 6 that he will represent India at the upcoming G-7 summit in Canada next week, after he was invited by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a telephone call.
