The incident unfolded right after Michael Pepper's dismissal when Brook walked in to face Tim Southee. The New Zealand pacer delivered a slower ball on a length outside off, and Brook initially shaped for a reverse hit. At the last moment, though, he changed plans, crouched low, and scooped the ball over wicketkeeper Joe Clarke for six.
The shot not only cleared the boundary with surprising ease but also sent Brook tumbling to the ground after connecting.
Fans on social media described the strike as 'outrageous,' in disbelief at how Brook managed to generate such power while improvising mid-shot. The unconventional stroke added to the growing list of unconventional yet effective shots from the England batter, who has built a reputation for the same.
