Majorca's too GERMAN for me! Brit complains island is 'more like Munich than Spain' with bars blasting out techno and bratwurst on 'every corner'
Tara Davies flew to El Arenal with her cousin for a getaway on June 23, hoping for a full-on Spanish experience.
But instead of flamenco and fiestas, the 25-year-old claims she walked straight into a techno-fuelled beerfest, complete with bratwurst stalls, football lads and menus written almost entirely in German.
'It was a bit of a shock when we came here the first day, we knew there were going to be a lot of Germans but didn't realise we booked a holiday to Munich,' Tara said.
The PR consultant from South London admitted she had read that the area was popular with German tourists, but didn't realise just how popular.
She added: 'We saw a few reviews of the area and we saw there are quite a lot of Germans, but we thought, there always is. I didn't expect it to be full-on Munich.
'I expected to see some Spanish people, I've been to a few different Spanish islands and Spain, but it's just funny that all of the signs and bus stops are all in German, but I'm in Spain right now.
'Road signs are in Spanish because it is Mallorca, but the adverts for the bars, the clubs and the bus stops are all in German.
Tara claims that many things, including restaurant menus were all in German
'All the restaurant menus are in German and then Spanish, English is the third language if it's on there at all.
'All of the 'looky looky' men and club promoters, they all come up to us speaking in German, which is funny.
'I knew it was going to be a very German-populated area but we didn't expect to this extent, we didn't do much research.
'There's always Germans when you go abroad, where Brits go, Germans go.
'All the men are wearing football shirts. Full football teams are coming here for their holidays, groups of 20 lads. British tourists are always extremely drunk, the Germans don't really do that.
'You can get a bratwurst on every corner, but there's so many restaurants, we had an Italian last night, we've had a lot of tapas and sangria, so we're still getting the Spanish in.
'I don't think we can go as far as to have a bratwurst.
Tara went on to add: '90% of the music in all of the big bars that we've walked past has been German music. But the restaurants it's been a bit of a mix of Spanish and English music.
'When you go past the big bars that are heaving, that's where everyone's listening to German euro pop.
'Pretty much everywhere we've been, we've been able to get a German beer on the menu, I don't know if there's any Spanish beers, we've gone straight to the sangria.
Still, she's taking the culture shock in her stride.
'We were just having a giggle, we just thought it was funny. This was my short getaway to Germany,' she said.
'I've been to Berlin and I loved it and always wanted to go back, but turns out I went back a lot sooner than I thought.'
And despite the initial surprise, Tara says it's actually been a great trip, with German tourists proving more pleasant than your average Brit abroad.
'It's quite a vibe, they're all having a good time, they all seem quite happy. The Germans are a lot more friendly than British tourists.'
Commenters online were quick to weigh in on Tara's unexpected detour. One joked: 'Looks like h*ll on earth!'
Another said: 'We did this last year! And honestly, the Germans and Dutch people were so nice and friendly! But we also had no clue what any of the songs in the bar were.'

Struggling single mum surviving on just £125 a MONTH fights tears at £250-a-night hotel on Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday
A STRUGGLING single mother who lives on just £125 a month after bills are paid, found herself fighting back tears on tonight's episode of Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday. Kelly, a cash-strapped mum-of-one and her bestie Lewie, took part in the Channel 5 experiment and found themselves in Northern Italy, with go-getting grandmas Jackie and Martine, both former pro dancers. 7 7 7 7 While 29-year-old happy-go-lucky Lewie lives at home with his mum and dad, works shifts for a budget airline and also flips burgers at his dad's truck-stop cafe, his best pal Kelly, 34, is employed by a transport company. Opening up about her hardships as a single mother to an eight-year-old, Kelly, who is from Portsmouth, explained: 'I work as hard as I can. 'Sometimes I'll even work a night shift, just because the night shifts are a bit more money.' But despite putting in the graft, every month after bills and food, Kelly is left with just £125 - so it's no surprise that luxury all-inclusive holidays are out of the question. The brunette confirmed: 'There's so much you want to buy but you can't, so I don't spend on things that aren't necessarily needed.' Kelly and Lewie, who met through friends 11 years ago and have been inseparable ever since, typically go for cheap-as-chips holidays to caravan sites. And to keep costs down, it's self-catering or budget fast food. The mother explained: 'We love Benidorm, or we'll do a nice little caravan break. 'We don't go out to eat that much, if we do we get a sharing platter and it works out cheaper.' But in tonight's episode, the pair were whisked off to live the high life at a majestic castle with Jackie and Martine, both of whom have travelled to the world's most exclusive destinations. I'm a mum-of-5 on £1.5K Universal Credit per month - people think I'm popping kids out to get 'lots of money' but I still have to use food banks - its embarrassing 'We're taking part in this to see how the other half live,' Kelly shared. Unlike Kelly and Lewie, not only are Jackie and Martine used to splashing the cash on fancy food and high adrenaline activities, but Jackie once spent a night in a £12,000-a-night hotel in Sweden. Once they arrived at the Veneto region of Northern Italy, the four best pals stayed in a former castle, the grand Hotel CastelBrando - a lavish hotel fit for a king, nestled in the Prosecco hills. The money you spend on certain things here is a three/four day holiday for us Kelly And it didn't take long before it all appeared very overwhelming for Kelly, as moments after entertaining the £250 a night suite, she admitted: 'It's just something else…quite emotional, there might be some tears shed.' Clearly blown away by the jaw-dropping room, she gasped: 'I don't think I have any words.' Moments later, Martine observed: 'I could see a bit of a tear in Kelly's eye, it's overwhelming for her to see such splender.' 7 7 7 And it wasn't just a posh hotel Kelly and Lewie were treated to - on the once-in-a-lifetime trip they also got a tour of Venice, with a £250 gondola ride and time at the spa, to which Kelly said: 'It's a lot different to arcades.' The shock continued for bargain hunters Kelly and Lewie, who were gobsmacked by the 'disgusting' prices, with £13.80 soft drinks and £430 glasses of Dom Perignon. Why caravan holidays are so underrated CARAVAN park holidays are a British staple. And with the cost of living crisis wreaking havoc on Britain's purses, more of us are turning to them for an affordable break. Josie O'Brien, Senior Digital Writer on Fabulous, weighs in on why she thinks caravan holidays are seriously underrated... WHEN I was a child, my mum used to collect the £9.50 holiday vouchers in The Sun. She'd use them to book a couple of nights away at a caravan park during the school holidays. As an adult, I fully appreciate the convenience of a humble caravan holiday. No faffing about with passports, no luggage limits and no bog-standard hotel breakfast of stale toast and grey eggs. I still love caravan holidays as an adult. In a world of doing everything for the 'gram, a caravan park brings you back to basics. There's no obligation to get dressed up, no stress to fit a million picturesque excursions in one week and I don't find myself flustered in tourist hot spots like abroad. I love going to coastal caravan parks and strolling along the beach parade. My highlight is always fresh mussels, ice-creams and classic pubs to grab an afternoon tipple in. And then, of course, there's the cost. Staying in a caravan is definitely way cheaper than my international trips. With no expensive hotel bills and the ability to cook my own meals, I'm spending hundreds less than I would abroad. I've had some of my best and most relaxing holidays in caravans. Maybe I'll buy my own one day. To this, Kelly claimed: 'The money you spend on certain things here is a three/four day holiday for us.' After dining at a £70-per-head restaurant, Kelly and Lewie were told that their holiday had a total cost of £8,118. To this, the single mother said: 'I'll be honest, it's not what I would expect for the money that's been spent.' I work as hard as I can. Sometimes I'll even work a night shift, just because the night shifts are a bit more money Kelly Whilst Lewie chimed in: 'That's five months worth of wages for me for this summer. An obscene amount for a holiday. 'Astonishing. We would rather stick to our budget holidays. Luxury isn't for me.' Despite her shock at the cost, Kelly beamed: 'It turned out to be an amazing week with beautiful places, beautiful people, friends who are friends for life now. 'That just shows you don't need to have money to have fun.'

Love Island fans uncover villa girl's gameplan as they say ‘she's not into him at all' about love interest
LOVE Island fans have become convinced that one couple are set to split after leaving the villa – after picking up on the girl's 'gameplan'. With the series finale coming tomorrow, the last few days of the villa have seen the islanders begin to lock down their romances. 6 6 But after Ty asked Angel if they could 'go exclusive' – essentially making them boyfriend/girlfriend in all but name – her reaction has left viewers believing there's doubt in place for Angel. Throw in differing lifestyles, and some are thinking that they could already be on the way out. A Reddit poster explained: 'Hear me out. Angel is a fairly big Instagram influencer, who if you look at her instagram seems to be all about the boujee life. 'Her entire feed is her hanging with super stunning models all with huge followings on yachts in Spain, ski trips in the French Alps, constant trips to Dubai and seems to be living a pretty expensive glamorous life.' 'Ty is a sweetheart but does seem just like a genuine working class guy from a normal background,' they added. 'Absolutely nothing wrong with that, I just find it hard to believe this is the type of guy Angel is genuinely interested in with the lifestyle she projects on Instagram.' They added that 'girls who live that lifestyle seem to often be looking for a certain type of man', and continued: 'Last night's episode was when I really noticed it most. 'There is a certain distance in the way she connects with him, especially when he asked her to go exclusive, everything is just kind of wafty and airy in her voice and doesn't seem real or passionate about anything he has to say.' 'I believe she is a huge game player like Dejon but isn't as dumb as him to make it so obvious to those in the villa or the public,' they concluded, saying she "goes with the flow and doesn't cause drama", allowing Angel to skirt through. Other posters quickly picked up on the moment, and agreed that something about Angel and Ty's romance didn't feel authentic. 'Not gonna lie, I don't buy Angel's act at all. She was definitely eyeing up Harry from the jump, but obviously wanted to secure a spot in Meg's little 'mother hen' squad for that protection,' replied one. 'And because she rocked up late, she just clung to Ty as a safe bet. 'Get her out' rant Love Island fans as they call for 'sly' star to be kicked off the show 'Half the stuff Angel says is just silly, like she's trying to be something, but ends up being absolutely nothing.' 'I thought she liked him up until last night, when he asked her to go exclusive,' agreed a second. 'Like you said her reaction was very wishy washy. 'However in saying that they are quite fresh, so maybe she was just taken aback by how soon it was. 'Ty was also really her only option, and it just so happened he was single at the time.' 'When they leave the villa, he'll be in the influencer lifestyle too so I think they'll last whilst they're riding the fame, and whilst they're all in London constantly for events and interviews and stuff,' noted a third. 'And when the love island 2025 hype dies down, those break up statements will be out on instagram 😂' Others commented on the fact that she claimed that distance would be an issue for them as they start their relationship – asking 'why that was an issue when she travels the world but can travel 150 miles to Barnsley' where Ty's based. Ty and Angel are within breathing distance of the finish line, with the finale airing tomorrow night and a new winning couple being crowned. However, their position in the finale isn't secured just yet, with one last shock dumping set to rock the villa in scenes set to air tonight. The remaining couples still in the villa are: Ty and Angel, Meg and Dejon, Toni and Cach, Shakira and Harry, and Yasmin and Jamie. Who will be our top four for this year? Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2. 6 6 6
