"People will answer this dictatorship": Kejriwal after ED detains Gujarat Samachar co-founder

India Gazette16-05-2025

New Delhi [India], May 16 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday condemned the detention of co-owner of Gujarat Samachar Bahubali Shah following the raids by Income Tax (IT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the leading daily, which he said was not a coincidence since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 'wants to silence' every questioning voice.
Further, he said that Gujarat would soon give an answer to this 'dictatorship.'
He further said that Shah's 'detention' came 48 hours after raids were carried out on Gujarat Samachar and GSTV. Kejriwal added that it was a sign of the BJP's frustration.
'The raids by IT and ED on Gujarat Samachar and GSTV in the last 48 hours, and then the arrest of their owner, Bahubali Bhai Shah - all this is not a coincidence. This is a sign of the frustration of the BJP, which wants to silence every voice that speaks the truth and asks questions. The people of the country and Gujarat will answer this dictatorship very soon,' Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi, posted on X.
Earlier, Kejriwal announced a 'Nasha Mukti Yatra' amid the ongoing 'War Against Drugs' in Punjab, which has been initiated by the administration to eliminate drug abuse in the state.
He said that the 'Nasha Multi Yatra' would reach each village and ward in Punjab to strengthen people's resolve against drug abuse and the selling of drugs. It would also focus on convincing people to provide treatment to drug addicts to ensure their well-being.
'From today, the Nasha Mukti Yatra is starting in Punjab. This Yatra will go to every village and every ward of Punjab. Through this Yatra, people will now be connected with the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. In every village and every ward, people will take an oath that they will not consume drugs themselves, will not let anyone sell drugs in their area and will get the drug addicts treated and get them out of addiction,' Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi, posted on X.
He stated that the Punjab government has made arrangements for the treatment of drug addicts. (ANI)

Speaking with ANI, CM Fadnavis highlighted that earlier, even the administration could not reach here, but the Maharashtra Police opened an outpost here, thus providing security to the people here. 'Kawande is like the first village at the border or the village that comes first after entry from Chhattisgarh. There is the Abujhmarh forest nearby, and even the administration could not reach here. But our Police opened an outpost here. Due to this outpost, not just Police dominance, but we also filled a security vacuum. We also set up a 4G tower here. Police provided security, and we provide government schemes through this outpost. So, this has built confidence among people,' CM Fadnavis asserted. Speaking on the deadline to eliminate naxalism, the Maharashtra CM emphasised that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has pledged that the country will be Naxalism-free by March 2026. Bangladesh political parties express mixed reactions over announcement of national election

Dhaka [Bangladesh], June 6 (ANI): Political parties in Bangladesh on Friday expressed mixed reactions to the announcement of the national election. Bangladesh's largest political party, BNP, expressed its disappointment over the timing of the election but Jamaat-e-Islami expressed satisfaction over the announcement. Chief Adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, on Friday announced that the next national election will be held in the first half of April 2026. BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said the announcement of national election has not fulfilled expectations of people. He said more than 50 parties want elections by December and if the government wanted, it could have held the elections by January. He said that the first half of April is 'an unreasonable time for voting'. Due to Ramadan, SSC exams and weather conditions, it will not be a suitable environment for election work at that time, he said. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman expressed satisfaction and said an announcement has been made on the timing of the election. The Chief Adviser earlier said that the Election Commission will provide a detailed roadmap for the elections in due course 'I am announcing to the countrymen today that the next national elections will be held sometime in the first half of April 2026. Based on this announcement, the Election Commission will provide you with a detailed roadmap for the elections in due course,' he said an address to the nation through state television BTV on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was ousted in a student-led uprising in August last year. She is now living in India on self-imposed exile. After Sheikh Hasina's fall, an interim government was formed under leadership of Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Laureate. (ANI)
