'South Park' Season 27: How to Watch the Premiere Without Cable

Kenny, Kyle, Stan and Cartman are about to return.
Comedy Central
South Park's season 27 rollout has been hectic. The hit animated series has had its premiere date pushed and lacked definitive streaming details caused by behind-the-scenes ongoings. As of today, July 23, the show is hours away from its Comedy Central debut, and the US streaming method is becoming clear.
According to a report from Deadline, a deal is being completed that would bring South Park to Paramount Plus in the US. The global licensing deal would reportedly be exclusive (sorry, current HBO Max viewers) and count five upcoming seasons and the show's back catalog. Not much else is known at this time for those interested in streaming it on Paramount Plus but we will update this article when there's more info.
As for what the new season will include, we have the above trailer for reference -- which starts sort of like a horror movie trailer before unleashing fires, dismantling the Statue of Liberty and disastrous plane collisions. If you want to watch the 27th season of the show co-created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, here's what to know.
South Park season 27 release date and streaming details
South Park season 27 will premiere on Comedy Central on Wednesday, July 23, at 10 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT. That's the current date after it was delayed from July 9.
We'll share concrete Paramount Plus streaming details when they become available. Right now, a sure way to stream the series without cable is with a live TV streaming service like Philo, Sling or YouTube TV.
Philo Philo Carries Comedy Central
Philo is a live TV streaming service that provides more than 70 channels, including Comedy Central. A subscription costs $28 per month and also includes access to AMC Plus content. Rivals like YouTube TV come with more channels but Philo could be a good fit for you if you like its smaller selection for a lower price. See at Philo

The ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' Trailer Welcomes You Back to School

Star Trek faces an uncertain future at the moment, as shows that helped define its streaming renaissance end one by one, and little is known about what lies on the horizon (especially thanks to current events in our own world). So it's perhaps fitting, then, that the one new show we do know is coming is all about welcoming a new generation back to Star Trek's fundamental ideals after a similar period of uncertainty: Starfleet Academy. To close out today's packed Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount released the first trailer for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Set in the 32nd century after the events of Star Trek: Discovery, the series will follow the first new class of cadets to enroll at the titular academy in San Francisco in over a century, as the Federation rebuilds and reconnects after the cataclysmic events of 'The Burn' from Discovery's third season. The new trailer, aside from being packed with references to all of Star Trek history (from Academy wing names to courses on figures like Captain Sisko), introduces us to a whole host of new and familiar faces as classes begin. The series will be led by Holly Hunter, who plays Nahla Ake, the captain of the U.S.S. Athena, a long-lived half-Lanthanite (the same humanoid species as Strange New Worlds' Commander Pelia, played by Carol Kane) who also serves as the Academy's chancellor. Among the senior staff at the academy, she'll be joined by Discovery's Tig Notaro and Voyager's Robert Picardo, reprising their roles as Jett Reno and the Emergency Medical Hologram simply known as the Doctor, respectively—they'll also be joined in a guest star capacity by Discovery's Mary Wiseman and Oded Fehr as Sylvia Tilly and Admiral Vance, respectively. One new addition to the campus staff is Gina Yashere's Lura Thok, the Athena's first officer as well as Starfleet Academy's cadet master—fascinatingly, a half-Klingon, half-Jem'Hadar, the genetically engineered footsoldiers of the Dominion from Deep Space Nine. Of course, an academy needs students, and Starfleet Academy will follow a whole host of new recruits making their way through training. Here's the rundown: Even if Starfleet Academy is a school-set series, Star Trek still needs a baddie, and the show will have one in the form of Paul Giamatti, cheekily and mysteriously introduced at the end of the trailer. Giamatti plays Nus Braka, a seedy gang leader (and himself another half-Klingon, this time a Klingon/Tellarite hybrid) who has some ominous connections to one of the new cadets at the academy. The first season of Starfleet Academy is set to begin streaming on Paramount+ in early 2026. The show has already been renewed for a second season. Want more io9 news? 'That kind of thing really dings Trump hard,' former Congressman Joe Walsh quipped of the opening episode to the show's 27th season.

A top former member of the Republican Party has explained why the opening episode of South Park's 27th season hit President Donald Trump where it hurts. 'Remember, a lot of Trump's base, they're not Republicans. They're just men—they're guys who typically don't belong to a party, they don't vote all the time, and they watch South Park,' former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh, who's since defected to the Democrats, told MSNBC. 'They watched an episode this week where Trump looked really silly and stupid—a big fat man with a teeny, tiny penis. I think that kind of thing really dings Trump hard, too,' he added. 'No pun intended.'

Mama Cat 'Too Busy Serving Face' To Nurse Is Such a Mood

Mama Cat 'Too Busy Serving Face' To Nurse Is Such a Mood originally appeared on Parade Pets. Being a parent is a nonstop, 24/7 thrill ride that leaves little room for non-children-related things, especially when they're young and needy and you're exhausted. It almost feels like the most stressful (but exciting!) roller-coaster ride with no off-ramp — just ups and downs forever! That's why it's important to practice self-care whenever possible, whatever that means. For one mama cat named Luna, the self-care option she chose on this particular day is small, but necessary for keeping her sanity. Just 10 seconds of zoning out could mean the difference between holding herself together... or not. And you know what? Good for her! Anyone with kids can probably recognize that spaced-out expression because it's universal. The fatigue from no sleep and caring for little ones day and night really wears on parents, so if Luna needs a moment to go blank, let her! The tiny kitten, which is one of three, is doing just fine. Her name is Rosie, and she's Mommy's little copy + paste baby who loves to snuggle up. Sure, Luna took a few beats to melt her stress away, but Rosie knows Mom will be there to care for her whenever she snaps out of it! The now-viral video of Mom and baby gained a lot of traction in a short time, and I think it's because it really is that relatable! More than 13k people took to the comments to support Luna, and some are off-the-wall hilarious."Hold on, Dear, there's a camera," one person joked. "God forbid a girl continues to be a baddie even with kids," another wrote. "Mother AIN'T mothering today," another fan added. With beauty like hers, you can't expect Luna to stop delivering. She can't, and she won't. It's her gift to the world, whether her children appreciate that or not. Besides, she does an amazing job providing for her babies and has since the day they entered the world. Rosie will understand one day that she has a model for a mother and sometimes serving face is necessary. Her identity can be both mother AND diva, OK? For all the parents going through what Luna's going through, hang in there. They don't stay little forever, but you still need those small moments for yourself. Whether you use it to serve the camera with your gift or hide in the bathroom for 5 minutes to collect yourself, you do you! 🐶🐾🐾 Mama Cat 'Too Busy Serving Face' To Nurse Is Such a Mood first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 26, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 26, 2025, where it first appeared.
