Job listings that mention artificial intelligence (AI) skills offer salaries that are, on average, 28% higher, which translates to approximately $18,000 more per year, compared to roles without such requirements, according to a report by market intelligence firm Lightcast.Interestingly, the data challenges the common belief that AI adoption is mostly confined to the tech industry. As of 2024, more than half (51%) of all AI-related job postings are now in non-tech sectors, marking a shift in how AI is impacting the broader labour market. Since 2022, generative AI (GenAI) roles in industries outside traditional tech have surged by 800%.Meanwhile, the share of AI-focussed job postings in IT and computer science has declined from 61% in 2019 to 49% in 2024, indicating a shrinking demand for AI skills in core tech roles as many roles become automated. This trend has deep economic implications. While certain highly automatable tech jobs face the risk of being replaced, many non-technical professionals are now seeing new career paths and better wages. The Lightcast report highlights notable growth in AI skill requirements across five major career domains:8% of all job listings in this field now mention AI skill requirements, with annual growth hitting 50%. Demand is particularly high for SEO specialists, where 19% of postings require at least one AI skill, and 8% list multiple AI capabilities.Leading all sectors, HR has seen a 66% year-on-year (YoY) growth. Talent acquisition and recruiting managers are leading adopters, with 3.9% of roles requiring one AI skill and 0.6% needing more than one.Though still early in adoption, demand is rapidly rising, with 40% annual growth. Currently, only 1.3% of finance roles mention AI, but financial quantitative analysts are in the lead, with 12.6% of postings requiring a single AI skill and 13.3% needing multiple skills.A steady 9% annual growth shows a more established use of AI and not an explosive one. Around 6% of science and research postings now require AI skills. Researchers and research associates are at the forefront, with 5.7% requiring a single skill and 8.2% demanding multiple skills. This sector is seeing 18% annual growth in AI-related roles, though adoption remains low overall. Only 1.3% of job postings in education mention AI skills. Curriculum designers lead the way, with 3.7% of roles requiring one AI skill and 1.8% requiring multiple skills.

Rubrik launches ‘Agent Rewind' AI visibility solution

NEW DELHI: Multinational cybersecurity firm Rubrik on Thursday launched the ' Agent Rewind ' solution, powered by the Predibase artificial intelligence ( AI ) infrastructure, to help organisations gain visibility into AI agents and undo any mistakes. This comes at a time when businesses are turning to GenAI-driven agents, which can interact with their environment and execute tasks, to help achieve certain goals efficiently sans human intervention. However, this has led the possibility of these agents – or software – making inadvertent changes to applications and data, as well as technical malfunctions and legal issues, challenges that Rubrik's solution aims to solve. 'In highly regulated sectors in India such as banking, financial services & insurance (BFSI) and healthcare, maintaining transparency is critical,' said Sathish Murthy, chief technology officer (CTO), India and Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), Rubrik. 'The introduction of Agent Rewind offers enterprises a powerful tool that provides audit trails of AI-driven actions. The ability to safely rewind AI actions will give them the confidence to experiment without fear of irreversible mistakes,' he added. Rubrik said its Agent Rewind solution makes previously opaque AI actions visible, auditable, and reversible, creating an audit trail and immutable snapshots that facilitate safe rollback. Current observability tools only show what happened, but not why or how to reverse high-risk actions. "As AI agents gain autonomy and optimise for outcomes, unintended errors can lead to business downtime," said Anneka Gupta, chief product officer at Rubrik. "Agent Rewind integrates Predibase's advanced AI infrastructure with Rubrik's recovery capabilities to enable enterprises to embrace agentic AI confidently.' According to the research agency International Data Corporation (IDC), while companies are considering investing in AI, they do not take into account the mistakes that AI agents can and will make. 'Agentic AI introduces the concept of 'non-human error,' and as with its human counterpart, organisations should explore solutions that allow them to correct potentially catastrophic mistakes made by agentic AI,' said Johnny Yu, research manager at IDC.

Policy for data centers' land, power usage to support industry: CBRE's Anshuman Magazine

NEW DELHI: Policy interventions to ensure availability of fundamentals – land, water, and energy – would be a deciding factor in driving the proliferation of data centers nationwide, according to real estate consulting firm CBRE . 'Land is a common challenge for every real estate development, including data center s. But the bigger challenge is getting the power to run a data center. So, the state or the city may not have the kind of power required by data centers. That is why hyperscalers and other larger data centers are being established in major cities first,' Anshuman Magazine , chairman & CEO (India, Southeast Asia, Middle East & Africa), CBRE, told ETTelecom in an interview. The rapid advancements in cloud, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), and low-latency applications are also causing the data centers to guzzle water to keep the computing infrastructure running at optimum temperatures for sustained performance. 'The data centers also require a lot of water because they generate heat. So it needs cooling. The construction of a data center itself is expensive and the technology, including the racks, as well as prices, have increased,' Magazine said. 'Lately, the power generation in India is improving, and that will enable us to put a larger capacity data center, which will benefit the entire industry.' Vipin Jain, president (datacenter operations), CtrlS Datacenters, told ETTelecom in a recent interview that more efforts are needed beyond allotting lands at market rates and waiving stamp duty to support the greenfield data center projects. 'If we have to look at this industry in total, the government should look into whether it can develop data center cities that have ample power. They have to consider the use of unclear power and renewable energy,' he said. The top executive's comments close on the heels of the Ministry of Electronics and IT ( MeitY ) restarting consultations on the draft national data center policy to attract investments in this sector, ET reported in its August 11, 2025, edition . The policy, which aims to encourage the establishment of data centers through single-window permissions, streamlining approvals, providing incentives, and setting up four data center economic zones (DCEZs), was announced in 2020 but never implemented. CBRE estimates India's data center capacity to increase from 1.27GW in 2024 to 1.76GW in 2025, with the real estate footprint growing from 19 million square feet to 26 million square feet. Mumbai (50%), followed by Chennai (17%), Delhi NCR (12%), Bengaluru (9%), and Pune (6%), are expected to be the top data center markets (by capacity) this year, according to the American commercial real estate services and investment firm. Last year, investors remained bullish and committed nearly $20 billion in data centers, benefitting Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, as per CBRE. 'Mumbai and Chennai are the major data center hubs due to undersea cabling connections. That is why more data centers have come there. Going forward, there will be data centers everywhere. Certainly, parts of South India and western Mumbai will have an advantage,' the executive said.

At Mercyhealth, it reported a 5.1% revenue increase, a 43% drop in claim denials with work queues cleared in half the time, and coding costs cut by about is an integrated, non-profit healthcare system serving hospitals, clinics, and providing health insurance addition to cutting expenses, Arintra integrates with EHR systems such as Epic and Athena using an enterprise SaaS model.'Reimbursement in healthcare is fundamentally broken. Payers are moving fast, using policy and technology to shift more of the burden onto providers, but autonomous coding hasn't kept up,' said Shroff.
