Dolly Parton returns to Vegas for first run of shows in 32 years: How to get tickets

USA Today23-06-2025
Dolly does Vegas has a joyful ring to it and the country superstar is poised to follow through.
Dolly Parton will return to the Las Vegas Strip for her first extended run in 32 years with six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
"Dolly: Live in Las Vegas" will hit the venue Dec. 4, 6-7, 10 and 12-13 to coincide with the National Finals Rodeo. Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. ET June 25 via ticketmaster.com. A series of VIP packages will include personal photo opportunities with Parton, an onstage tour and access to Dolly's Rhinestone Lounge. All shows will begin at 8 p.m.
"To say I'm excited would be an understatement," Parton said in announcing the limited engagement. "I haven't worked in Vegas in years and I've always loved singing there."
The concerts will weave seven decades of hits from the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, with classics including "9 to 5," "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You" and "Coat of Many Colors" expected on the set list.
Parton, 79, bowed out of the spotlight for a spell following the March death of Carl Dean, her husband of 60 years. But the indefatigable singer-actress-philanthropist has, as usual, numerous projects in the pipeline.
The live production based on her life, "Dolly: A True Original Musical," begins previews in Nashville July 18 with an eye toward Broadway. Her other show, "Threads: My Songs in Symphony," a multimedia experience featuring her songs rearranged with orchestras and guest vocalists, is touring the country through May 2026.
Parton also made headlines for her unconventional pairing with hard rockers Motley Crue on a remake of their 1985 ballad, "Home Sweet Home." The song has been reimagined as a duet and will appear on the band's Sept. 12 retrospective, "From the Beginning."

Dolly Parton Offers Tender Message To Kelly Clarkson And Reba McEntire

Dolly Parton offered a tender message of solace to the loved ones of Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager who died from skin cancer last week at the age of 48. Blackstock was the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and the former stepson of Reba McEntire. Parton, who lost her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, in March, was asked by Entertainment Tonight on Monday if she had any words of comfort for Clarkson and McEntire. While she revealed she hasn't yet had a chance to speak with them directly, her affection for both women was evident. 'I think that you just have to be grateful for the years that you've had with someone, and you just try to remember the very best of all that,' Parton said. 'Take their energy that they had given you then, and you just kind of recycle that, and let that become a part of you. Just honor their memory and just know they're in a better place than we are these days.' Blackstock died Aug. 7, three years after being diagnosed with skin cancer. A day before his death, Clarkson postponed the remainder of her Las Vegas residency dates, citing personal reasons. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,' she shared in an Instagram post. 'I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.' Related... Kelly Clarkson Finally Reveals Emotional Health News After Missing Her Talk Show & Concerts: ‘While I Normally Keep My Personal Life Private… ‘

After months of speculation, Kelly Clarkson finally revealed the real reason she's been missing episodes of her talk show and her concerts. In an Instagram post on August 6, 2025, Clarkson announced that she had to postpone the August 2025 dates of her Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, to care for her kids—daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander—amid her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's illness. 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,' she wrote. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.' What She Said About Their Romance She continued, 'I'm sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.' Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2022. Clarkson's residency, which is held at The Colosseum at the Caesars Palace hotel in Paradise, Nevada, was set to run for four dates in August 2025. The residency is scheduled to end on November 15. Clarkson also previously canceled two dates in July 2025, citing vocal preservation. 'We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,' she wrote in an Instagram post July 4 hours before she was set to perform. 'I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening at Caesars.' She continued, 'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.' 'Clarkson first sparked health concerns in March 2025 when she unexpectedly missed a taping of her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and had actor Simu Liu, who was supposed to be a guest on that episode, step in as host. 'Kelly isn't able to make it today. We're sending her our very best,' he told the audience at the time. 'I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie Last Breath.' He continued, 'I'm here now, and look, I'm not one to back down from a challenge.' She also missed several more episodes that month and was replaced by celebrity guests like Roy Wood Jr., Wanda Sykes, Josh Groban, Willie Geist, Brooke Shields, Molly Sims, Kal Penn, Andy Cohen, Tyler Perry, and Ellen Pompeo. Amid concern over her health, TMZ reported at the time that Clarkson was missing from her talk show due to a personal matter that didn't directly involve her, which seems to correlate to her post about Blackstock's illness. TMZ also confirmed at the time that Clarkson's health was fine. ‘Honour their memory': Dolly Parton shares her advice on grief for Kelly Clarkson after ex-husband's death

Dolly Parton has shared her advice on dealing with grief following the death of Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband of her friend and fellow artist Kelly Clarkson. Blackstock died from melanoma, a form of skin cancer, aged 48 on Thursday 7 August. The news came a day after Clarkson announced that she was postponing the remaining shows in her Las Vegas residency to be with her two children, whom she shared with Blackstock. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Parton – whose husband of almost 59 years, Carl Dean, died in March – was asked if she had any advice for Clarkson on navigating such a difficult time. 'Well, I think that you just had to be grateful for the years that you've had with someone, and you just try to remember the very best of all that, take the energy they'd given you then, and just kind of recycle that, and let that become a part of you,' the country music legend responded. 'And just honour their memory and remember they're in a better place than we are, these days.' In May, Parton said that her faith had been a source of strength following the loss of Carl. 'I am a person of faith, and I truly believe that I'm going to see him again someday,' she told the Associated Press. 'And I see him every day in my memories and in my heart, and in all the things that we used to do and all the things that we've built together. You just kind of have to learn to kind of make new plans – but that's the hardest part.' A representative for Blackstock's family said in a statement last week: 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.' Blackstock's diagnosis had been kept private until the time of his death. He and Clarkson were married for seven years before separating in June 2020. In a eulogy posted online, it was revealed that he had a 'beautiful and loving partner', Brittney Marie Jones, with whom he had been 'building a life'. The tribute also said that 'nothing mattered to Brandon more than his four beautiful children, Savannah, Seth, River, and Remy'. 'He was a devoted father,' the statement said. 'His four children were and always will be his greatest love and his greatest legacy.' Blackstock shared Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18, with his first wife, Melissa Wells, whom he was married to between 1999 to 2012.
