Gerwyn Price makes prediction ahead of Luke Littler Premier League Darts clash

Gerywn Price is backing himself to lift the Premier League Darts trophy on Thursday night, noting his impressive record against semi-final opponent Luke Littler.
The Iceman has not won the prestigious title before, coming closest in 2023 when he finished runner-up, but he is confident this will be his year.
The Welshman meets world champion Littler in the first semi, with Luke Humphries facing Nathan Aspinall in the second at The O2.
Littler is odds-on favourite to win the title, as he did last year, but Price points to his excellent record against the 18-year-old sensation, leading the head-to-head 7-6.
Asked what he is thinking ahead of Thursday night's play-offs, Price told talkSPORT: 'I think I'm going to win. Obviously I'm playing really well.
'I've got a good record over young Luke and I think he'll be thinking about it more than I will. I don't really care who I play.'
He added: 'I think that's probably where I've got an edge over Luke and everybody else. Or over the other players when they play those sort of players. I literally just play the board and I know If I play my A Game then nobody else really matters.
'That probably sounds a little bit arrogant but I believe in my own ability and I don't really care about the Lukes or Michael, I know if I play well then I've got a really good chance of winning.'
Littler has actually won the last two meetings between the pair, but that ended a six-game winning run for Price over the Nuke.
The world champion does not agree that the Welshman's results are on his mind, though, and is confident of retaining his trophy.
'I'm not one to say I'm going to smash him, we'll just have to see how it goes,' said Littler.
'I wouldn't say it's playing on my mind because I know I've got a job to do. We've all got a job to do and there can only be one winner.
'So I'm just very confident that I can win to get out there in front of tens of thousands again.'
Price is clearly in focussed and confident mood, insisting that even his recent defeats to the teenager should be seen as a positive.
'It was going to come to an end at some point so I would rather that he has won two than be 8-0 up and him go and turn me over at The O2,' Price said.
'Hopefully I get myself back on track and on top of Luke.'
On the other side of the draw it is a less bullish approach from world number one Humphries, who is not ready to make any predictions ahead of the huge finals night. More Trending
'I've got to get past Nathan first and if I do get past Nathan I might not be playing Luke (Littler), I might be playing Gerwyn,' Humphries said.
'You can't predict anything in darts. You've got four great darts players inthe semi-finals. Any one of us can win. All four of us can win that trophy tomorrow.
'I think it is a mistake if you think that you're going to be playing someone in the final before they actually win the game first itself.
'So yeah, I'm not going to count my chickens yet before I've actually been made the final.'
