Athletics' Nick Kurtz passes Ted Williams for 2nd-place in MLB record with 4-HR game

It's too early to determine, for sure, what Nick Kurtz will become as an MLB hitter.
But the Athletics rookie has started like an all-time great.
Through 66 games, Kurtz is tied for second in MLB history with 42 extra-base hits for that career-starting stretch.
He's behind only Joe DiMaggio, and he's tied with Ted Williams, according to MLB Network's Sarah Langs.
UPDATE: As it turns out, Kurtz wasn't done. He hit a fourth homer to move past Williams on the list below.
MORE: Edwin Diaz is MLB's best pitcher since learning his legs were different lengths
Kurtz reached that point on an insane night in which he hit safely in his first five at bats. He had a double and a single in addition to the three homers.
After the third bomb, Kurtz's season average was up to .303 and the OPS was at 1.044. And it rose even higher after the fourth.
Right now, it's worth just enjoying the ride. It may be a long time until anyone in baseball sees a start to a career like this again.
