Billie Eilish Ties A Very Important Record — But Can She Go All The Way?

Billie Eilish's 'Birds of a Feather' has become one of the most successful rock and alternative singles in recent memory, at least in terms of how long it's held on inside the upper reaches of a number of charts. The Grammy-nominated smash has been holding court on a number of Billboard rankings for nearly a year, and while it's still a win, it has already solidified its place in history. This frame, the cut manages a very impressive feat once again, as Eilish extends a reign that's already pushed the title into rarefied territory.
'Birds of a Feather' is steady at No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart once more. That's a position it has rarely relinquished since it debuted. The track has now ruled the tally for 37 weeks. For context, it's only spent 48 total frames on the ranking.
The tune has been one of the most consumed rock and alternative releases in the U.S. for months on end. Whether via streaming, sales, or airplay, 'Birds of a Feather' continues to perform like a brand new single, even though it's been charting for close to a year.
'Birds of a Feather' is now tied as the second-longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. It sits alongside 'Heat Waves' by Glass Animals, which also managed 37 weeks in the penthouse not long ago. That track went on to become a defining hit of its own era, and one that helped the group become breakout stars, if only for a time.
At this point, 'Birds of a Feather' looks like it's ready to keep going, and there's a decent chance it might rule for several more weeks…but whether it can actually match the all-time record is a little harder to predict. Panic! At the Disco's 'High Hopes' is still the song to beat, with a staggering 65-week reign. That remains one of the longest runs at No. 1 on any Billboard chart. Eilish's current total only covers a bit more than half of that chart-topping span – still, she's closer than almost anyone else has ever gotten.
This week, 'Birds of a Feather' isn't just ruling the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, it's also leading two other Billboard tallies. The composition is in charge of both the Hot Alternative Songs and the Alternative Streaming Songs rankings again.
Beyond those three No. 1s, the cut also remains inside the top 10 on six additional Billboard lists. The single is just a few weeks away from celebrating a full year on each of those rankings, and it will almost certainly reach that milestone with ease…and then keep on charting.

Panthers Wide Receiver Xavier Legette Stuns in Acting Debut

Panthers Wide Receiver Xavier Legette Stuns in Acting Debut originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Most second-year wide receivers focus on route trees, film study, and perfecting their release. But Xavier Legette? He just added 'music video heartthrob' to his growing résumé. The 24-year-old Carolina Panthers wideout has stepped into a spotlight few NFL players ever do, starring as the romantic lead in GloRilla's sizzling new music video, Typa, which dropped recently and already has fans talking. And no, this isn't a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo. Legette takes center stage in a series of steamy scenes that have sparked headlines, social media speculation, and a surprising new level of celebrity. At one point in the video, the shirtless 6'1', 221-pound receiver shares an intimate moment with the Grammy-nominated rapper, whose song samples Keyshia Cole's hit Love. Their chemistry is undeniable, and it didn't take long for rumors to swirl online. The former South Carolina Gamecock made waves in 2024 with 497 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns as a rookie. But now, he's building a personal brand that goes beyond the gridiron. It's a savvy move in today's NFL, where players who build their off-field image can increase endorsement value and fan reach. Think Travis Kelce, but with a Southern drawl and a taste for raccoon (yes, really! Look it up). Whether this is a one-time gig or the beginning of something bigger, one thing's clear: Xavier Legette isn't afraid to color outside the lines. Carolina, meet your new WR1 of personality. Rams, Sean McVay Drop Clever Reaction to Surprise Reference by Lil' Wayne

Rams, Sean McVay Drop Clever Reaction to Surprise Reference by Lil' Wayne originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Sean McVay found his way into "Tha Carter VI" courtesy of Lil' Wayne. The Grammy winning rapper dropped his much-anticipated newest album Friday. It's the sixth installment of his "Tha Carter" album series that's won over his fans over the years. Now he's grabbed the attention of the Los Angeles Rams. Wayne references the Super Bowl winning head coach on the track "Welcome to Tha Carter," which is the second track off the 19-song album. The song starts with a church choir theme intro, but then blends in drums and Wayne's signature rapping voice. It goes from Gospel theme to one filled with sports references -- including this lyric that brings up McVay: "Smokin that bomb LA like I'm McVay/Bombs away, I'm just tryna concentrate," Wayne raps. Well, turns out the Rams heard that bar loud and clear. They posted this clever reaction featuring their beloved head coach. The Super Bowl LVI winner isn't the only L.A. reference on the track. Former Los Angeles Lakers champion and NBA All-Star Metta World Peace is mentioned by Wayne on the song too. McVay himself hasn't personally reacted to the song. But it's not the first time the Rams have reacted to any major Hip-Hop news. Rams mascot Rampage posted a picture mimicking Kendrick Lamar's "GNX" album cover -- which showed the mascot in front of the Buick vehicle just like the Compton native. Lamar released that album in 2024 and since has gone on tour -- including performing two shows at the Rams' home of SoFi Stadium. The Rams also used the late Nipsey Hussle's hit track "Grindin' All My Life" as part of their 2024 schedule release. Now the New Orleans native Wayne showed love to McVay and story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Addison Rae Introduces Herself With Debut Album ‘Addison'

Addison Rae Getty Images for Coachella In just a few short years, Addison Rae has risen from budding TikTok star to pop music's newest 'it' girl. She made a splash on the Billboard Hot 100 last year with 'Diet Pepsi' and returned to the chart for her recent single 'Headphones On." That climb has culminated in Rae's self-titled debut album Addison, out now. Though she's only a few years into her career, Rae projects the confidence of an industry veteran on the album, as evidenced by most recent single 'Fame Is a Gun," proclaiming 'There's no mystery, I'm gonna make it, gonna go down in history / Don't ask too many questions, God gave me the permission / And when you shame me, it makes me want it more.' When reflecting on her journey and where she is now in a recent cover story with Elle, Rae explained that she's reached a place in her career where she's in control of what she does. 'I have the luxury now to say no to things I'm not interested in, or that don't feel like me or aren't reflective of who I am. It's still a job, at the end of the day. Everybody is trying to survive — I'm trying to survive and live here and do all these things that I love — but I definitely have become more intentional, because I do think saying no to things opens up a door for a much better yes,' she said. Still, she isn't resting on her laurels just as she's making her big debut in the pop world. 'What does that even mean, really, to be the pop girl? Let's see if the songs get more popular, then they can call me a pop girl," she mused to Variety. 'This is my shot. I've got to go big.'
