Yemen's Millions reaffirm no tolerance for crime of genocide, starvation against their Brothers in Gaza

Saba Yemen2 days ago
Sana'a – SABA:
As Israeli crimes intensify, pushing deeper into acts of genocide and death by starvation against Palestinians, public outrage continues to surge across Yemen. Massive popular rallies are growing in size and resolve, expressing unwavering solidarity and full readiness to fulfill the duty of jihad against the brutal Zionist enemy and to stand by Gaza's just cause.
The millions-strong Yemeni crowds renewed their condemnation of the disgraceful silence and betrayal by Arab and Islamic regimes regarding the denial of food, water, and medicine to Palestinians in Gaza—where children and women have become victims of prolonged starvation and the ongoing Israeli siege, now approaching 22 months.
Under the slogan 'We Will Not Tolerate the Genocide in Gaza and the Desecration of the Nation and Its Sanctities,' Yemenis marched in massive numbers in the capital Sana'a and various governorates—scenes unique to the land of faith and wisdom—to affirm their readiness to fight alongside their Palestinian brothers, shoulder to shoulder, and to make sacrifices in solidarity with an unprecedented historical injustice.
Participants demanded that neighboring client regimes—which have abdicated their responsibility to break the Israeli siege—open pathways for fighters eager to confront the Zionist enemy directly.
In Sana'a, the million-strong rally in Al-Sabeen Square renewed its pledge to remain steadfast with the oppressed Palestinian people, respond to the cries of Gaza's hungry, and reject the crimes of genocide and starvation. The crowd declared a state of alert and full preparedness for the 'Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad,' expressing readiness to fight in Gaza and confront the enemy.
They called for passageways to be opened so Yemenis could join the fight in Gaza and Palestine, deeming this a decisive battle for the entire nation. They also denounced the ongoing silence and inaction of Arab and Islamic governments in the face of genocide and starvation inflicted on Palestinians in Gaza.
The crowds endorsed the statement of the revolutionary leader, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, regarding the consideration of escalatory options to deter the Zionist enemy. They reaffirmed their full support and authorization for any measures he deems necessary to halt the aggression and lift the siege on Gaza.
The crowds also praised the legendary resilience and heroic operations carried out by the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime, which continues to destroy life and kill children and women through starvation, siege, and bombing.
They called on Arab and Muslim nations to break out of their silence and disgrace and rise in support of their brothers dying from hunger and thirst in Gaza—rejecting both the so-called 'Deal of the Century' and the continued desecration of the Islamic nation and its sanctities. They emphasized ongoing boycotts of American and Israeli products as an effective weapon against the enemy.
During the mass march in the capital, Yemen's Grand Mufti, Allama Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, commended the stances of free-minded scholars who fulfilled their duty and affirmed the obligation of jihad in support of the Palestinian people.
He reminded scholars—especially those in neighboring countries surrounding Gaza—of their moral and religious obligations to the besieged and starved people of Palestine. He criticized those who excuse inaction by citing obedience to unjust rulers who violate God's laws and the Prophet's teachings.
'Allama Sharaf al-Din asked: 'Where is the mercy, where is the compassion, where is the dignity and honor for your starving brothers whom you watch dying daily without lifting a finger?'' He stressed that the responsibility on these scholars is greater, but all Islamic nations, even those far away, are equally accountable before God for supporting the Palestinian people.
In Sa'ada Governorate, 39 mass rallies were held across the province and its districts to reaffirm solidarity with Gaza and rejection of the ongoing crimes of genocide and starvation.
Participants in Sa'ada marches warned that the Arab and Islamic world's betrayal of Gaza will bring divine wrath in this world and the next. They reiterated their readiness to carry out any directive from Sayyed Abdul-Malik in support of the Palestinian cause and their willingness to go to Gaza should regional countries open a route.
People of Sa'ada vowed not to remain silent in the face of Gaza's suffering and condemned the shameful stance of the Arab and Islamic world toward Israel's starvation war.
Meanwhile, 252 public squares in urban and rural parts of Al-Hudaydah Governorate were packed with unprecedented crowds, raising Yemeni and Palestinian flags, chanting against genocide, and vowing to stand firm against the joint Zionist-American agenda in the region.
The crowds declared that Arab and international complicity in the genocide of the Palestinian people constitutes a resounding moral collapse. They held the U.S. and its regional allies fully responsible for the crimes committed by Israel—including starvation, thirst, bombardment, and targeted killings—citing the political and military cover provided by Washington.
Hudaydah residents called for general mobilization across Arab and Islamic nations to break the siege and save the starving, warning that the consequences of continued silence will not stop at Gaza.
Similar scenes played out across the governorates of Sana'a, Al-Dhalea, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, Ibb, Al-Bayda, Raymah, Taiz, Marib, Amran, Dhamar, Lahj, and Al-Jawf, where tens and hundreds of thousands took to the streets in rallies and protests—denouncing Israeli crimes, voicing support for Gaza, blessing Yemen's military strikes against Israeli-linked targets, and declaring readiness for war and jihad.
Each governorate echoed the same themes: that the cause of Palestine remains central to the Yemeni people; that they are ready for sacrifice; that they endorse all decisions of their leadership to confront Israel; and that they hold America and Israel, along with Arab regimes, responsible for the bloodshed in Gaza.
Final Declaration from the Mass Rallies:
Praising God and invoking peace upon Prophet Muhammad and his noble family, the declaration opens with the Quranic verse:
'Do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy. If you are suffering, they too are suffering—but you hope from Allah what they do not. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.' — [Surah An-Nisa, 4:104]
The declaration continues:
Sorrow and Anger: Yemenis express heartbreak for the people of Gaza suffering horrific death and starvation, betrayed from outside and blocked from receiving help. The shame is amplified by the failure of neighboring regimes to either help or allow others to help. Meanwhile, a Muslim population in the center of the Islamic world is annihilated under the world's watch, surrounded by millions who do nothing.
Condemnation and Accountability: The U.S. and Israel are held fully accountable for genocide and for using starvation as a weapon. Arab regimes are also blamed for encouraging the enemy by remaining passive. The declaration supports Sayyed Abdul-Malik's announcement of escalating options and reaffirms the people's readiness to bear any consequences that may arise from confronting the enemy.
Religious and Strategic Commitment: Yemenis affirm their unwavering support for Palestine as a matter of faith, religious duty, and moral integrity. They express trust in God's promise of victory to the righteous and failure to oppressors, and vow to continue their support—materially, morally, and militarily—until Gaza is free and the Zionist occupation is ended.
The statement concludes with prayers for victory, for the martyrs, for the wounded, and for the release of prisoners, calling upon God as the Most Merciful and the Responsive.

Yemen Foils Drone Shipment Bound for Houthis via Aden Port

Aden – Yemeni counterterrorism forces have successfully intercepted a shipment of military-grade drones and weapon components en route to Houthi-controlled territories, according to an official statement released Wednesday. The operation, conducted in coordination with the Attorney General and Free Zone Security, targeted a commercial vessel arriving from China that had diverted its course from Hodeidah Port—under Houthi control—due to recent Israeli airstrikes on the area. Upon arrival at Aden Port, security teams identified and seized suspicious containers containing: - Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) - Advanced control units - Wireless communication devices - Assorted military equipment and spare parts Intelligence-Led Operation Authorities acted on precise intelligence indicating the vessel's cargo was intended for Houthi forces. The inspection, carried out on August 2, involved teams from customs, counterterrorism units, and port police, all operating under the supervision of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution Office. Evidence of Organized Smuggling Network Preliminary investigations confirmed that Hodeidah Port is being used as a hub for systematic arms smuggling to the Houthis. Officials stated that the seized shipment is part of a broader network supplying advanced military technologies to the group. A detailed report is being prepared for submission to the UN Security Council's Sanctions Committee, outlining the shipment's origin and its links to Houthi operatives. Strategic Implications This interception marks a significant blow to Houthi efforts to bolster their drone capabilities and underscores the growing threat of maritime arms trafficking in the region. Security officials praised the swift coordination among agencies and reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding Yemen's ports from illicit military activity.

Houthis Sanction 64 Global Shipping Firms for Violating Maritime Blockade on Israel

Sanaa – Houthi militia announced the imposition of sanctions on 64 international shipping companies accused of violating the maritime blockade imposed on Israel. The announcement follows what the group described as repeated warnings to vessel owners whose ships entered Israeli ports despite prior notifications. According to the HOCC statement, the companies were notified of potential penalties before their vessels docked at Israeli ports. Due to their failure to comply, the Houthis declared that the entire fleets of these companies are now banned from navigating the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb Strait, Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea, and may be targeted by Yemeni armed forces wherever reachable. The sanctions, the statement emphasized, apply regardless of the companies' nationalities. The HOCC warned that any future violations would result in similar punitive measures and that companies ignoring pre-sanction alerts would bear full responsibility for consequences. The move is part of the Houthis' broader campaign to pressure Israel to end its military operations and blockade on Gaza. The group claims that these measures are intended to disrupt Israeli maritime trade and compel international actors to intervene. The announcement comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with the Houthis intensifying their military posture and declaring the start of a new phase of their blockade strategy. They have urged global shipping firms to sever ties with Israel to avoid becoming targets of their operations.

Houthi Militias Accused of Systematic Vandalism of Yemen's Archaeological Sites

Sanaa – Local and international heritage organizations have raised alarm over the increasing destruction and unauthorized excavations of archaeological sites in areas controlled by Houthi militias. Reports from multiple governorates—including Rima, Al-Bayda, Ibb, and parts of Sana'a—indicate a disturbing pattern of looting, vandalism, and illegal digging under the pretext of searching for 'hidden treasures.' In Rima Governorate, the General Authority for Antiquities condemned what it called a 'blatant assault' on a historic site in the village of Al-Rabat, where individuals—allegedly including local officials and Houthi-affiliated figures—conducted unauthorized excavations that reached depths of two meters. The operation was halted only after warnings of structural collapse. Similar incidents have been documented in Al-Bayda, where decorative elements and ancient doors of the famed Al-Amiriya Mosque and School were damaged. In Ibb, once the capital of the Himyarite and Sulayhid dynasties, nighttime raids have targeted ancient sites such as Al-Asibiya in Jabal Issam, resulting in the extraction of statues, gold coins, and other relics. Armed confrontations between site guards and looters have been reported, with some suspects apprehended. In Sana'a's Sanhan district, an entire pre-Islamic settlement in Jabal Al-Qana was reportedly destroyed by unregulated digging, erasing centuries-old stone architecture. Despite clear legal prohibitions against such acts, enforcement remains weak amid alleged complicity from Houthi leadership and local authorities. Experts warn that Yemen's cultural heritage is facing irreversible damage, urging international bodies to intervene and support efforts to protect the country's historical identity.
