Wexford gardaí investigating after man is stabbed in the face and chest

On July 10, Gardaí responded to the emergency call where a man (30s) from New Ross was attacked with a knife.
Just before midnight in the Templeshelin area of Adamstown, Co. Wexford, multiple stab wounds were inflicted to the man's face and chest.
Upon the arrival of the emergency services, the man was brought to hospital where it's believed he required over 100 stitches, however, while his injuries were described as very serious, they were not life-threatening and he was later discharged.
Gardaí have since been carrying out patrols in the rural area as they monitor the situation. There are definite lines of enquiry ongoing and gardaí are calling for those who may have witnessed the incident or are in possession of information, to make themselves known to New Ross Gardaí.
Separately, gardai are also aware of the theft of items from outside The Cracked Teaport in New Ross town centre.
Last week two women were seen taking fairy lights and ornaments from outside the cafe. However, these were all later returned to the staff after an appeal was made on Facebook.
Owner Tina Gaffney said she was grateful for the support she received from the community following the event.
