Bodies of two young boys found inside home as woman arrested
WARNING DISTRESSING DETAILS: Police officers in the New South Wales town of Coonabarabran, Australia, now say there is no ongoing threat to the public after the welfare check.
A woman has been arrested after the bodies of two children were discovered during a welfare check.
Emergency services were called to a property on Emu Lane in Coonabarabran, New South Wales just after 2pm on Monday. Inside, cops made the horrific discovery of the bodies of two boys, aged six and seven-years-old.
A 66-year-old woman, believed to be the children's grandmother, was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for further evaluation. She is currently under police watch.
Officials have confirmed that the woman and the children were known to each other.
Police have assured that there is no ongoing risk to the public and they are not looking for any other persons related to this incident, reports the Mirror.
NSW Premier Chris Minns expressed his sympathies, saying: "What has occurred is terrible, and as a state we share in the Coonabarabran community's grief over the loss of two young boys who had their whole lives ahead of them.
"I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak their family, friends, and teachers are going through." He also expressed gratitude to local police for their professionalism and bravery in handling the tragic situation.
NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb confirmed that extra police resources have been sent to the town as the investigation progresses. The inquiry is still ongoing.
An American couple is facing a lifetime in prison following the tragic death of their two year old child, who was left in a sweltering car along with three siblings. Another child, aged 3, also died due to malnutrition after being taken to hospital.
Deja and Justin Rollins have each been given a 70-year sentence, concluding what prosecutors have labelled one of the most "disturbing" cases they've ever encountered. The pair confessed to leaving their four children - aged 2, 4, 7, and 10 - in a scorching car while they rushed their fifth child, aged 3, to Little Rock Children's Hospital in Arkansas on July 7, 2024, according to the Pulaski County Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors revealed that the couple's three year old passed away from severe malnutrition, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the other children.
"This case is one of the most disturbing and heartbreaking our office has ever encountered", stated prosecuting attorney Will Jones.
Officials report that Deja, 28, and Justin, 30, locked their four children in the overheated vehicle, which they parked at Arkansas Children's Hospital as they sought "urgent medical treatment" for their 3 year old.
Police were dispatched to the hospital following a report of child abuse and neglect, where they discovered the car outside the facility.
However, Deja and Justin failed to disclose the location of the vehicle to the police, as per the Jacksonville Police Department.
The children were rushed to the hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion. Tragically, the youngest child, two year old Jay'Dien Rollins, succumbed to fatal heat exhaustion and severe malnutrition the next day.
The married couple both admitted guilt to two charges of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree domestic battery.

Chilling new Madeleine McCann theory puts UK man at centre amid drink drive claims
The newspaper said the British sister of the unnamed man at the centre of the new theory tipped off police in the UK in 2018. Following fresh searches in Portugal for Madeleine McCann, a British man is now at the centre of a new theory after being reportedly overheard saying five chilling words by a witness the day after the tot went missing. It was revealed on June 6 that German prosecutors refused to investigate a couple who claimed to have hit Madeleine in a drink-driving accident. The tot vanished on holiday in Portugal on May 3, 2007. According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, Portuguese authorities demanded action after receiving a chilling tip-off from a British woman who believed her own brother and his German wife may be hiding the truth about Madeleine's disappearance, reports the Mirror. Investigators in Portugal asked German officials for permission to deploy an undercover officer with a fake identity to get close to the wife - suspected of being behind the wheel of the car that allegedly struck Madeleine, but German authorities reportedly shut the request down. The newspaper said the British sister of the unnamed man at the centre of the new theory tipped off police in the UK in 2018. 'German prosecutors were asked to authorise a covert police operation with someone posing as a friend of the woman's and trying to get her to confess, but the courts refused,' it added. 'It was decided to continue solely with the investigation into suspect Christian Brueckner, rejecting other possibilities.' Describing the mystery couple as 'alcoholics' and placing the British man's wife in a café near the Ocean Club where she had been 'drinking' the night Madeleine went missing from the Algarve resort. Correio da Manha also reported another witness described as the couple's neighbour told police separately she heard the couple rowing the day after the three-year-old disappeared. She said she heard the man repeatedly yelling: 'Why did you bring her?' Portuguese police claim they were shut down by the Germans after urging them to look more closely into the possibility the woman had driven home 'drunk' with Madeleine after hitting her. Correio said the unnamed British man had now died, but did not say whether his German wife was still alive. In a front page report today, the newspaper claimed: 'The German police refused to co-operate with Portugal's Policia Judiciaria in the investigation of a clue that pointed towards Madeleine McCann being run over. 'In 2018 a British woman went to police in the UK to say she suspected her brother had been involved in the disappearance of the youngster. She said her brother was an alcoholic and since the day Madeleine vanished had appeared to hide a painful secret. 'When British police exchanged information with the PJ, a coincidence was discovered. On May 4 2007 a woman told police she had heard her neighbours arguing. They were both alcoholics, he was English and she was German, and she heard the man shouting repeatedly: 'Why did you bring her?' 'The neighbour discovered afterwards it was the man whose sister had reported him to police and was married to the woman who had been drinking in a café next to the Ocean Club where little Madeleine was staying with her parents and twin siblings. 'Another report the police had indicated that in an identical car to the one the woman was then using, around the time of Madeleine's disappearance, a female and little girl had been seen inside. The PJ concluded she could have run Madeleine over and panicked.' The newspaper also claimed the mystery British man had always 'refused to tell his sister if he had been involved in Madeleine's death' before she alerted the authorities. Portuguese police are yet to respond to the Correio da Manha newspaper report. German police yesterday wrapped up a three-day search on the ground near prime suspect Christian Brueckner's old cottage home close to Praia da Luz where Madeleine disappeared on May 3, 2007.

Georgia Harrison lands MBE while ex Stephen Bear moves to Brazil with teen girlfriend
Love Island star Georgia Harrison is set to be awarded an MBE as part of the King's Birthday Honours list next week for her campaigning efforts tacking violence against women Georgia Harrison has made history as the first Love Islander to be awarded an MBE for her campaigning on violence against women and girls. The reality TV star, 30, has reportedly made the King's Birthday Honours list and will officially receive her title next week. She is being recognised for her work to raise awareness of revenge porn and the issues surrounding consent as well as online safety. Georgia, who is pregnant with her first child, started her campaign when Stephen Bear shared explicit footage of her online without her consent and without her being aware she was filmed. Following the harrowing incident, Georgia bravely waived her right to anonymity in a bid to help others who might be going through something similar. Bear was jailed for 21 months in March 2023 after being found guilty of voyeurism by a majority verdict and guilty to two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress by a unanimous verdict by a jury. During the sentencing, Bear, 35, was given a restraining order and told not to contact Georgia for five years and was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register. Speaking in court, Georgia said that she felt 'violated' as she recalled the extent of the impact that the footage being published without her consent had on her life. 'I had to live in fear that this was going to come out and my family were going to know about it. It was just like the worst feeling you can ever possibly imagine. I felt violated, I felt embarrassed - I hated myself for a really long time,' she said. Bear, famed for his appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and Ex on the Beach, was released in January 2024 after serving just half his time in prison. In March 2024, he was ordered to pay £22,305, which would be given to HM Treasury and distributed to police charities, and was also ordered to pay £5,000 in compensation to Georgia for emotional and financial distress. Last year, Georgia released her memoir Taking Back My Power: Our Bodies. Our Consent in which she reflected on her nightmare. 'It's a hard read,' she admitted to the Mirror. 'There was a lot of traumatic things that happened to me very close together, but I hope that people can be inspired and hope I can truly help people going through hard times to navigate their journey and to have a bit of faith that it's not the end and there are tools to get through those moments. And once you do there's always something on the other side.' Following the news of Georgia's MBE recognition, a source told Daily Mail: "Georgia is incredibly proud to receive such an honour. She has been campaigning and working hard for many years now, to be recognised for her efforts means everything to her. "Georgia will continue to raise awareness, hopefully this will be the beginning of more improvements for women and girls and their fight for online safety." Shamed Bear now lives a very different life and a week after his prison release, he claimed he had 'no money' and 'cried himself to sleep' as he slept in his parents' spare room. In August 2023, it was reported that Bear put his three-bed Essex home on the market for £525,000. Although Bear attempted to present an image of wealth during his trial, the Rolls Royce he drove to court case was revealed to be rented, while his opulent-looking Rolex watches were found to be fake. In September 2023, Bear's loyal fiancée Jessica Smith had ditched him having previously vowed to stick by Bear's side. Jessica, who has since welcomed her first child, underwent laser treatment to have her tattoo tributes to Bear removed, which included an engagement ring tat and the name 'Stephen' inked across her arm. In January this year, Bear taunted the police as he posted a video from Brazil with his new 18-year-old girlfriend. "The police can't catch me now," Bear bragged. "Life's good. I thought I'd come on here guys and say I love you all, simple as that. I love you all. Stay true, because this year I'm fully active, I'm off licence. The police, they could still be after me, but I'm in Brazil. They can't catch me now. Catch me if you can." Bear continued: "I'm in Brazil, I don't know if you've heard. This is my 18-year-old Latina girlfriend, say hello baby. We just chilling, I got eight music videos I got to shoot while I'm in Brazil. Thinking of looking at some property while I'm over here."
