
Krishna Varsity plans two-day social service every month
Addressing a Google Meet organised by Krishna University in collaboration with the Institute of Engineers and the Board for Community Development through Education on the occasion of National Maritime Day, with the theme 'Our Ocean, Our Opportunities, Our Rights,' the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the initiative.
As part of an agreement with the Naval Academy, the university will introduce two new courses starting next academic year. He called for students to participate in social service to become responsible citizens.
Speaking at the event, IEI AP Chapter chairman Prof MLS Devakumar said that Andhra Pradesh has a long coastline, and the state government's plans to utilise this opportunity are a positive development.
Independent Director of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited Chandu Sambasiva Rao stressed the importance of youth acting responsibly towards society and urging educational institutions to design programmes in this direction. The Google Meet coordinated by IEI APSC Honorary Secretary Prof Naresh Babu featured speeches by Indian Navy Commander Adeshi Paul Singh and Dr Ujwal.

IIT-BHU's session for JEE Advanced qualifiers on June 11
Varanasi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU will organised an open house session for candidates who qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2025 on June 11. The session will be conducted online (3.30pm-6.30pm) to ensure wider participation and accessibility. According to an IIT-BHU spokesperson, the session will be chaired by institute's director Prof Amit Patra. Key academic and administrative leaders of the institute, including the deans, the chief proctor, the council of wardens. During the session, prospective students will have the opportunity to interact directly with the leadership team and gain insights into the admission process, hostel facilities, campus security, and other aspects of life at IIT (BHU). All queries and concerns of the candidates will be addressed in detail. Registration for participation is mandatory and must be completed by 6pm on June 10. Only registered candidates will be granted access to the online session via Google Meet on June 11. Trees must be nurtured responsibly, says KU Rector
Krishna University (Krishna District): Prof MV Basaveswara Rao, Rector of Krishna University, emphasised that simply planting trees isn't enough; true results come only when the responsibility of nurturing them is taken. He made this clear during a large-scale tree planting drive on Thursday, held on the university campus as part of Vana Mahotsavam (Forest Festival). Speaking at the event, he urged all teaching and non-teaching staff at the university to compulsorily take on the responsibility of protecting the planted saplings. The programme saw the participation of Controller of Examinations Dr P Veera Brahmachari, NSS programme officers Dr Swaroopa, Dr Sesha Reddy, Dr Shanti Krupa and Dr Ravi, along with other teaching and non-teaching staff.
