Bugaboo recalls Giraffe high chair over serious fall risk
If you own a Bugaboo Giraffe high chair, stop using it immediately. The popular baby gear brand has issued a voluntary recall of more than 18,000 units in the U.S. after reports that the legs of the chair can detach, creating a serious fall hazard for babies.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the legs of the Giraffe high chair can detach from the frame if the screws connecting them are not properly tightened during assembly. This creates a risk of serious injury—or even death—if a child falls from the chair.
The company has received 22 reports of the legs detaching, including 13 reports of minor injuries.
Bugaboo is offering a free repair kit to fix the issue and is contacting all known purchasers directly.

This recall includes Bugaboo Giraffe high chairs sold in the U.S. between May 2023 and April 2025 for about $380.
The high chairs were sold in five color combinations and are identifiable by an item code printed on the bottom of the seat:
