Demi Moore's candid and wise words on ageing; say it's different from 'being old'
Demi Moore at a recent event discussed her views on aging. In an open statement, the 62-year-old actress stressed that growing older should not be viewed as getting "old," but rather as a valuable part of life.
Perceptions around aging
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Demi discussed how attitudes toward women in their 50s, 60s, and 70s have shifted, particularly in Hollywood. 'I think that there was a sense of things ending at a certain point as opposed to reality, which is just that we're evolving, it's not ending,' she said.
She also addressed the common confusion between aging and being old, noting, 'I have also thought recently about this idea that ageing and being old are not the same thing. And somehow we've confused that and that ageing actually is a tremendous gift.'
She shared that she feels a strong sense of peace and acceptance in her current phase of life. She stated, 'I would not trade — you could not pay me to be 21. As good as it might sound, it was torture!' She described her present mindset as 'a peaceful space of acceptance and freedom,' something she deeply values.
Oscars 2025
The actress went further back to the recent Oscars, where Demi Moore was regarded as a serious contender for the Best Actress Award, which Mikey Madison won. When asked about the idea of eventually winning an Oscar, she responded thoughtfully: 'I think that would be nice. I can't say I would be mad at it.'
She expressed a philosophical view on not winning the award. 'The question is, 'Should I have won?' It is certainly not the perspective of how I hold it because I didn't. And I really do subscribe to this idea that everything in life is happening for me, not to me,' she said.
Beyond awards
Although Moore felt disappointed, she placed the experience in a broader perspective. 'Of course, there's disappointment. I also immediately recognise that there is something that is greater than I am to be in service to, even if I don't know what that is,' she explained.
She concluded by emphasizing that her journey is ongoing. 'The message here is that there's more work to be done, that this issue is not complete,' she said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Through her words, Demi Moore offered a graceful and inspiring perspective, one that prioritizes purpose over fame and accepts aging as a process of personal development.

Mindy Kaling On Her Acting Comeback: ‘I Would Like To…'
Last Updated: Actor Mindy Kaling joked about why she hadn't starred in shows like Never Have I Ever, where she was involved as an executive producer. Mindy Kaling is all set to make her acting comeback, and she would rather do it on her own terms. After a successful stint behind the scenes, the talented writer, actress, and producer is ready to switch gears to acting once more. The Office star confessed she missed being an actor in a recent chat. She also explained why she did not appear in series like Never Have I Ever and The Sex Lives of College Girls, despite being an executive producer for the shows. In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Mindy joked about why she hasn't starred in her shows. 'Never Have I Ever, a show literally about an Indian American family in Southern California, and if I wasn't on that — what's wrong with me? I think there is a part of me that feels a little superstitious. I'm like, these seem to have gone well and I'm not in them, so maybe I'll wait," she said. Never Have I Ever was inspired by Kaling's own life in the US. After years of focusing on writing and producing, Mindy's eager to get back to acting. 'I miss it, and I would like to write or co-create a show for me to act in soon," she revealed. Drawing from her experience on The Mindy Project, where she was both lead and creator, Kaling noted, 'It is unbelievably fun and it's so efficient. I would love to do that again." She's considering launching a new project in the next few years, where she can reprise her dual role as star and creator. 'That's the thing that maybe in the next couple of years, when I launch a couple of other things that are earlier in the pipeline, that would be something that would be fun to do again," she added. Mindy also reflected on her two-decade career in Hollywood, sharing her humble beginnings and her evolving definition of success. 'My idea of success keeps changing, and so I'm never happy, and that's the writer's disease," she admitted. On the work front, Mindy Kaling was part of the animated series Velma, where she voiced the titular character from the Scooby Doo franchise. Before that, she was seen on The Morning Show, where she portrayed a news anchor. First Published:

Snoop Dogg biopic gets its director, Coming 2 America, Dolemite Is My Name-fame Craig Brewer to helm film
Craig Brewer, known for helming such films as Hustle & Flow and Dolemite Is My Name, is set to direct the biopic of Snoop Dogg. Universal Pictures has set Craig Brewer to film the definitive biography of Snoop Dogg's rise from hip-hop artist to renowned entertainment magnate. Brewer will contribute revisions to a script previously written by Joe Robert Cole. The film will be produced by Snoop Dogg, Brian Grazer and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker. SVP Production Development Ryan Jones will oversee the project for the studio, reported Deadline. The Snoop Dogg film marks the first movie under Death Row Pictures' overall contract with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios. It is an offshoot of Death Row Records, the label that established Snoop Dogg's career and is now embarking on an ambitious new chapter with the expansion. The strategic shift strengthens the brand's reach beyond music, ushering in a new era of imaginative on-screen storytelling. Universal has found success in the historical hip hop space with the F. Gary Gray-directed Straight Outta Compton, the story of the seminal rap group N.W.A film that was nominated for a Best Screenplay Oscar and grossed more than USD 200 million. Before that came 8 Mile, which starred Eminem in a drama based on his life and rise. Grazer produced that film, which grossed USD 250 million and won an Original Song Oscar for "Lose Yourself." Death Row's upcoming slate of projects starts with the Snoop Dogg biopic. Beyond film, Snoop will return to NBC's musical competition series The Voice this fall, reclaiming his red chair for Season 28. On top of that, he will continue to partner with NBCUniversal on cross-portfolio opportunities; he was a breakout star on NBC and Peacock's coverage of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, reported Deadline.
