Being Middle debuts in celebration of National Middle Child Day
CHICAGO, Aug. 12, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Yorkshire Publishing proudly announces the release of Being Middle (is a great place to be), the second title in Lori Orlinsky's award-winning BEING ME series — just in time for National Middle Child Day (August 12).Told with humor and heart, Being Middle explores the ups and downs of life as the middle child. The story follows a child stuck between an older sibling who does everything first and a younger sibling who gets all the attention — until she realizes that being in the middle comes with its own kind of magic.
Inspired by her own daughter, Ellie, becoming a middle child, Orlinsky wrote the book to remind children that being in the middle doesn't mean being forgotten.
'This book is a celebration of the wonderful quirks that make middle children who they are,' says Orlinsky. 'They may fall in the middle, but their place in the family — and the world — is anything but ordinary.'Being Middle has already caught the attention of middle child advocates. Bruce Hopman, founder of the International Middle Child Union, remarked, 'There is no cure for Middle Child Syndrome. But this book, and Lori's approach to raising a Middle Child, might be the closest thing.'
Being Middle follows Orlinsky's bestselling debut Being Small (isn't so bad after all), which won more than a dozen book awards for its empowering message of self-acceptance.
Lori Orlinsky is a bestselling author and veteran journalist known for her rhyming, lesson-driven picture books that help children process big emotions and make sense of the world around them. Being Middle marks her fifth published title. While she isn't a middle child, she has her hands full raising one. For more information, follow visit her website or follow her on Instagram and Facebook.
Being Middle (ISBN: 978-0881441055) will be available beginning August 12 on Amazon and wherever books are sold.

People Are Finally Warming Up To JoJo Siwa Dating Chris Hughes After The Initial Shock Of Their Hetero-Relationship Went Viral

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are winning people over one TikTok video at a time. And their most recent post has a lot of viewers doing a collective "aww" as they witnessed just how much fun the 22-year-old entertainer and the 32-year-old media personality have together. Earlier this week, JoJo shared a video from their three days exploring the new Star of the Seas Royal Caribbean cruise — their newest and largest ship. Along with Chris, some of JoJo's family also came along for the adventure. Related: The nearly 30-second video featured a ton of sweet clips showing the couple smiling and giggling while trying out all of the amenities. From a giant waterslide... ...to showing off skills on the basketball court... ...and racing down another waterslide... Related: ...sprinkling in some baby time... ...and walking around the 1,196-foot boat. All of this while stealing some cute intimate moments with each other. Related: Related: These positive comments come after JoJo received a lot of backlash when she admitted she "felt pressure to identify as a lesbian," and dumped her ex Kath Ebbs at the Celebrity Big Brother UK wrap party. Some people from the LGBTQ+ community accused JoJo of turning her back on them when she publicly stated that she no longer identified as a lesbian, while also going public with her relationship with Chris on Instagram. Needless to say, I think we can all agree it's ultimately not our place to tell her who to love. And I'm glad fans are finally allowing her to enjoy this happy time in her life, no matter who she loves! Bill Belichick won't headline North Carolina's weekly coach's radio show

Bill Belichick coaches in college football, but it appears he won't be a regular in one college football tradition: The coach's weekly radio show. North Carolina announced Thursday that Belichick will be on the first episode of the Tar Heels' weekly radio show on Aug. 27 at Top of the Hill Restaurant & Brewery, but general manager Michael Lombardi will be the show's headliner each week. Previously called 'Mack Brown Live,' it will now be called 'Carolina Football Live.' Assistant coaches and players will join Lombardi weekly on the show, according to UNC's press release, which does not specify when Belichick will return to the show. Lombardi has previous media experience, hosting podcasts and appearing regularly on Pat McAfee's show. While the coach's weekly radio show is still common across college football, the opportunity for fans to call in and ask live questions has started to disappear over the years. Nick Saban was a rare high-profile coach who continued to take live calls until he retired in 2024. Many schools have removed that opportunity, either because of losses or a coach getting upset with a caller. After a spat with 'Tyler from Spartanburg' in 2023, Clemson ended live calls for coach Dabo Swinney. The show now takes questions via text message. North Carolina says fans who cannot make the show in person can submit questions via email. Some college coaches have the weekly radio show written into their contracts. Belichick's deal at UNC only says the coach shall appear on media opportunities 'as reasonably requested by the University' and that the timing and location shall be mutually agreed upon by the parties. It's under the $9 million 'supplemental income' section of his contract. North Carolina opens with TCU on Sept. 1. Spot the pattern.
