This Morning: Alison Hammond says she's taking a year off panto
On Friday's instalment of This Morning, ITV star Alison Hammond revealed she's taking a step back from one aspect of her career.
While speaking to Alexandra Burke and Lesley Joseph ahead of their musical tour, The Addams Family, the presenter touched on the impact performing live can have.
Speaking about going on tour, Alexandra revealed it's hard as you can often be doing eight to 12 shows a week.
She commented: "You don't really get a life outside of it, but that's ok because you're entertaining other people."
Addressing Alison, Lesley added: "We're looking at the panto Queen! Birmingham. Three panto Queens sitting on the sofa."
Alison replied: "But the thing is, you've been doing it year after year. I'm having a year off because I was so exhausted from last year and the year before. It is a discipline."

She commented: "The whole family comes and it's the one time in the year that anybody, grandma down to the youngest children can come and really love it. You know, you've done it now."
Alison agreed as she told the two guests the cast quickly become like another family due to how much time you spend with them.

Dressed in her costume, Alison was asked what her favourite part about being in the play was as she replied: "Do you remember last year when lovely Dermot (O'Leary) and the whole team brought me a wonderful chair with the plaque of my mum's name on it?

I moved from a ‘rough' council estate to a mansion but my neighbour was vile to me for being too common
Plus, how the entrepreneur went from being a single mother living in a council house to raking in a whopping £1.8million a year CRUEL COMMENTS I moved from a 'rough' council estate to a mansion but my neighbour was vile to me for being too common Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A WOMAN who previously lived on a rough council estate and moved to a 'posh area' has said her 'vile' neighbour was rude to her for being too common. Terri-Ann Nunns, 41, from Doncaster, who previously starred on Channel 5's Rich House, Poor House as a self-made millionaire, said she was 'happier' on the council estate. 3 Self-made millionaire Terri-Ann Nunns opened up about moving from a council estate to a mansion - and how her posh neighbour was vile to her Credit: Tiktok/terriann_nunns 3 Terri Ann claims her neighbour's actions forced her to move house Credit: Instagram/TerriAnn_Nunns After creating a successful diet plan and having a budget of £1,200 a week with her husband Michael, and their three kids, Terri-Ann moved into her 'dream' mansion. However, things were not all rosy as the person living next to her made her life a living hell. The six-bedroom mansion had come with a cinema room and a swanky bar, but the dream ended when she was forced to sell the property and move out. In a TikTok video on her @terriann_nunns account, she said: 'We bought this house, and then I had offices built in the back garden, it was just amazing. 'But then I had a new neighbor and he were a doctor and he weren't very nice. 'I think personally he could not stand the fact, like, I'm just me. I'm not posh, I'm just me. 'I'll never change, I've always been from a council estate, always been rough and ready, professional, but can be rough and ready as well. And he just couldn't stand us.' Terri-Ann claims tensions rose when he started moaning about her staff parking on the street. She added: 'I had a massive drive for everybody to park on, every staff member, but because they're coming at different times, one of them would get blocked in. 'So they just thought, 'we'll park on street.' So one of my staff argued with him. Anne and Mick Ross look around the Nunn's six-bed house on Rich House Poor House 'He nudged her, it was vile. 'Honestly, I just think he just couldn't stand the fact that we weren't posh. We were just, like, normal.' Terri-Ann said she suspects her neighbour ended up phoning the council to say she was running a commercial business out of her home. She continued: 'I don't know, he just hated us. 'And then when the council got involved, basically the reason I had to move out the house because they said I couldn't run my business from there. 'So I'd spent £40,000 on this office being built in the back garden, and the council turned around and said you're using your property as a commercial property which we weren't. 'We had the big house and the thing at the back garden. Anyway, I said I'm not staying here. 'I'm not staying here and not being able to run my business. It's just not worth it, what we've invested. 'So we sold the house, made money from it, sold the house and bought the one that's on Rich House, Poor House.' 3 The Nunns outside their six-bedroom mansion on Rich House, Poor House Credit: Emporium Productions Ltd SNOBBY COMMENTS Terri-Ann insists she's proud of her success, but claims often people who have had a privileged upbringing 'look down' on those who haven't had that. Many people were quick to praise the entrepreneur on her success in the comments. One said: 'Girl I feel you, I miss the estate so bad! Way to snooty round here.' Another added: 'Love to see my own kind of people getting along in life good on you. sounds like the neighbour was very bitter and jealous of you.' BUSINESS SUCCESS Terri-Ann made her fortune through her Terri-Ann New You Plan, and regularly shares her top tricks for her own drastic body transformation. She went from being a single mother living in a council house to raking in a whopping £1.8million a year. On her Rich House, Poor House episode, her family swapped their six-bedroom home with struggling Anne and Mick Ross, who lived off £200 a week. During the episode, Terri-Ann admitted she may have been happier in her life before her success, saying: 'We're probably less happy now. 'I have to work loads of hours, and neglect Michael (her husband) a little bit, and obviously it's clear I neglect my kids because they told me all this week.'

ITV boss warns of 'challenging' changes to daytime ahead of huge cuts
ITV boss Kevin Lygo has lifted the lid on upcoming cuts to the channel's daytime offerings, admitting that certain shows are a huge expense to make ITV boss Kevin Lygo has insisted the channel will try to make their daytime shows look the same next year but admitted it will be 'challenging' - as he spoke out about the budget cuts to daytime. From January 2026 Lorraine Kelly's morning show on ITV will be cut from an hour to 30 minutes as more than 220 jobs across the station's daytime output are being cut, the broadcaster announced in May. Asked directly if the best days of daytime TV were behind them at ITV, ITV managing director Lygo said 'no, I don't think so' but admitted there would be changes. He said: 'As a commercial broadcast you earn most of your money with big audiences in peak time. That is what advertisers want and the cost of those has gone up and up and up. Those are the things that drive us commercially. 'Those morning shows have been on forever and they are brilliant and they are watched and they are seven hours of TV a day but they do cost a great deal of money. 'So we thought, is there a way of keeping those long standing brands on air and keeping the familiar faces on that give comfort to people? So the editorial brief was if you have a lot less money, which you will do from January, to try to make it so the audience isn't shocked. They should look more or less the same, they are less funded so that will be challenging to the producers. But unfortunately that means people doing a perfectly good job will lose their jobs because we need fewer people making them.' Lygo also defended the decision to keep Torode's John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen on air on ITV after he was sacked from MasterChef following an independent report. Questioned over this decision to let him remain on screen, Lygo said he 'felt it was a bit much for us to jump on the bandwagon and just deny these shows to go out.' He added: 'We don't know the details, the BBC haven't come out with that. We pre-recorded those shows. We did ask the producers of our shows if there were any incidents and they said everything was fine.' Torode was sacked after the report, initially examining allegations against Wallace, upheld a complaint against him for use of racial language. Torode has apologised but denied the incident took place. In a separate session at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the BBC's chief content officer said the corporation 'acted fast' after misconduct allegations against former MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace. Wallace, 60, issued an apology saying he was 'deeply sorry for any distress caused' and that he 'never set out to harm or humiliate', after a review said 45 out of 83 allegations made against him were upheld. Speaking at the Festival, Kate Phillips said: 'I think when complaints came to me about Gregg Wallace, which was 2019, when I dealt with it, I always dealt with it straightaway. 'So there were two complaints. I dealt with them. I acted on them fast. 'I think we weren't as joined-up in the BBC as we are now, so I didn't know about some of the historical things that had taken place. So if I'd known about those at the time, yes, I may have acted differently, but I acted on the information I was given. 'I think I acted responsibly. I left him in no doubt of the expected behaviour that we expect at the BBC, if you like. I stand by the actions I took at the time with the knowledge that I had.' ITV staff working on daytime were told in a meeting in May that 220 production staff out of 440 will lose their jobs On the other daytime shows as previously revealed in the Mirror there will be cuts to Loose Women which will see less panelists needed than the current rota of 26. One insider insister 8-10 might leave in the New Year and it would mean the next six months would see panelists being more outrageous and bold with their comments than normal to keep the spot on the show. ITV have insisted there will be no widespread cuts when it comes to panelists. Good Morning Britain will also see big cuts and changes but the one constant will be Susanna Reid. A source previously told the Mirror: 'When there are cuts this big normally no one is safe but Susanne Reid is someone ITV want to build the show around and is seen as an essential part of daytime. She is 100% safe from the cuts but will be very worried for friends she has on GMB and what the cuts mean for the quality of the programme on screen.' Hundreds of staff are now in a consultation process at ITV.

Fans of the soap will be aware that Jack is the teenage son of mechanic Kevin Webster and tragic Molly Dobbs, who died in the Weatherfield tram disaster. Jack has had an eventful young life on the cobbles, including a brush with death after battling sepsis which resulted in a life-saving surgery to have his leg amputated, reports Manchester Evening News. But away from his acting career, Kyran's latest social media update revealed his achievements off the screen. Taking to Instagram during A-Levels results day last week, the soap star shared: "The results are in…. Adam Hussain, who plays Aadi Alahan, has been a fixture on the cobbles since his debut in 2006, alongside his twin sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey). Originally portrayed by Zennon Ditchett, Adam took over the role in 2020 - and it's safe to say Aadi's been embroiled in some serious drama. Recently the character inadvertently spiked Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) at a party.
