During a conversation with Only Kollywood, Mrunal Thakur said, 'Dhanush is just a good friend to me. I'm aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it. Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him.'

Dhanush was married to filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth, daughter of legendary actor Rajinikanth. The couple separated in 2022 and finalized their divorce in 2024. They have two sons together, Yatra and Linga. Since the split, Mrunal Thakur is the first actor Dhanush has been romantically linked to.
On the professional front, Dhanush has interesting projects in his kitty – Tamil film Idly Kadai, Aanand L. Rai's Tere Ishk Mein alongside Kriti Sanon, and Vignesh Raja's directorial D54.
