Superman 2025 trailer released: Lois Lane grills David Corenswet as Lex Luthor calls him a ‘threat'; Superman stands trial
James Gunn's Superman is back with a full trailer, released just days after teasing the Man of Steel's battle in the Comic-Con footage, where he appeared blood-soaked and lifeless as his dog Krypto took the spotlight. On May 14, DC's official YouTube channel shared a nearly three-minute trailer showing David Corenswet's character being interviewed after his heroics are questioned. He is blamed for acting alone and accused of making things worse. Warner Bros.' film is set to hit theatres on July 11. The movie stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. It shows Corenswet's character struggling to balance his alien Kryptonian roots with his human life as reporter Clark Kent. He stands for truth, justice, and classic human values, but in this story, he faces a world that often sees those ideals as outdated.

The trailer of Superman, the first movie in 10 years, opens with the Man of Steel trying to justify his actions for humanity. But not everyone sees him as a hero. In fact, Lois Lane herself (played by The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel star) is seen questioning his recent actions in a sit-down interview that quickly turns into a grilling session. 'Recently, you've come under a lot of fire,' Lois says in the trailer. 'Today, the Secretary of Defence said he was going to look into your actions.' Superman looks frustrated as he answers that he stopped a war. But Lois counters, accusing him of entering the other country without government permission. She reminds him, 'You seemingly acting as a representative of the United States will cause more problems around the world.' But Kent is firm in his stance: 'I wasn't representing anybody except for me, and doing good.'

The scene then cuts to Superman being criticised by the public, while some loyalists still offer support. Despite all he does, flying, saving lives, and facing humiliation, he is blamed for not respecting the president's decision and acting alone. 'He's not a man,' Lex Luthor can be heard saying in the trailer. 'He's an 'it' that's somehow become the focal point of the entire world's conversation.' Even Lois, who respects him, says, 'I would question myself in the same situation and consider the consequences.' But Superman stays firm: 'People were going to die.' To sum up, Superman is trying to find his place in a world that no longer sees things in black and white.

— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) May 14, 2025
For the unversed, this is the first film from the franchise since Zack Snyder's Man of Steel (2013), and it officially kicks off Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe, which was previously titled Superman: Legacy. In both the trailer and teaser, we see prominent screen time of Krypto the Superdog, who rescues an injured Superman and drags him to the Fortress of Solitude. The upcoming film will see Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner.
'I have always loved Lois Lane,' Brosnahan spoke to Variety earlier. The trailer spotlights her romantic arc with the Man of Steel. 'She's smart, ambitious and can be funny. She knows she's the smartest person in the room more often than not. When the opportunity came on… I'm such a fan of James Gunn from afar.'
Superman releases July 11.

How to use the Krypto treat in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
Image via Epic Games The latest Fortnite update has added an unexpected but exciting Mythic item, the Krypto treat - allowing players to summon Superman's four-legged companion, Krypto. While Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers, Krypto's inclusion brings a unique and playful mechanic to Chapter 6 Season 3, titled 'Super. ' From how to find this rare item to the best way to unleash its power, here's everything you need to know about using the Krypto treat. Where to find Krypto treats in Fortnite Despite being a Mythic item, Krypto treats are surprisingly accessible. They spawn randomly in regular chests across the map, meaning all players have a fair shot at finding them. Each Krypto treat offers two uses, giving you a second chance to call in the super-powered pup during a single match. Unlike previous Mythics that are locked behind bosses or POIs, Krypto treats drop in standard loot locations, making them easier to discover in casual and competitive modes alike. How to use the Krypto treat Once you've picked up a Krypto treat, using it is simple but strategic. Just throw the treat (R2 on console or Left-Click on PC) like you would a grenade. Wherever it lands, Krypto will dive-bomb from the sky, creating a dramatic explosion and dealing 100 damage to players, buildings, and NPCs within the blast radius. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo Krypto is not a persistent companion, he appears, makes his destructive entrance, grabs the treat, and disappears. Think of it as calling in an airstrike... with a cape and a wagging tail. When and where to use it To make the most of Krypto, timing is crucial. Use the treat during close-quarters fights or to break enemy structures mid-battle. It can turn the tide by damaging groups of players or flushing out campers hiding behind builds. Since the treat has limited range and doesn't track enemies, placement is key - aim it into areas with less escape room. The community has embraced Krypto with open arms. Content creator Jack 'CouRage' Dunlop uploaded a crazy fun gameplay and fans on social media dubbed him the 'best boy.' It's another fun twist that Fortnite fans are enjoying this season. As Epic Games continues to evolve gameplay with quirky but powerful additions, Krypto has quickly become a fan-favorite. So next time you spot a treat, toss it - and let the super dog do the rest.

2025 box office report card: How a kids' film beat Mission Impossible, Sinners, Marvel; is year's highest-grossing film
Nearly half of 2025 has come to a close. The summer blockbuster season is set to begin, but already, in the first five months of the year, 2025 has given a lot of reasons to cheer at the box office worldwide. Hollywood films found their footing again, even as Marvel continued to falter. Tom Cruise reasserted his superstardom, while Sinners and Final Destination: Bloodlines raised the flag for horror. But despite all this, the highest-grossing film of the year so far has not come from Hollywood. It has no big stars, and is made for kids. Yet, it has managed to beat studio heavyweights on its own. (Also read: Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible 8 defies US-China tensions, tops China box office with $25 million haul) Chinese animated film Ne Zha 2 has been the biggest box office sensation of the year so far. The film, made for just ¥600 million (around $80 million), it has already earned $2.2 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing animated film ever, and one of the highest-grossing films of all time, with only heavyweights like Avatar and Avengers: Endgame above it. Ne Zha 2 pipped Warner Bros' A Minecraft Movie to the top. The second-place feature has earned $948 million worldwide. Disney's Lilo & Stitch is in the third spot with a global haul of $632 million and counting. Another Chinese film - Detective Chinatown 1900 - is in the fourth spot, while Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World rounds up the top 5. Ne Zha 2's success can be gauged by the fact that it has earned nearly six times as much as Tom Cruise's hit Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning or Marvel's Thunderbolts. The Paramount film has earned $389 million, while the MCU's antihero team-up is at $371 million. Despite wide releases globally, they have been unable to match Ne Zha 2's pace. What has made Ne Zha 2 so popular is its universal appeal in China. The film is based on Chinese mythology and legends, and has been seen as a fun, educational family watch in the country. This, coupled with China's impressive 90,000 screens, has meant that the film was able to sustain record footfalls for long durations, selling out theatres for weeks in parts of the country. Ne Zha 2 may be hard to dethrone. Only four films have ever earned more - Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Titanic. Yet, 2025 boasts a strong line-up of films that can break the $2 billion mark. First up is James Gunn's Superman reboot, followed by Marvel's new Fantastic Four film. But perhaps the film that has the best chance of surpassing Ne Zha 2 at the box office is James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash, which releases in December.

Popular leakers have hinted at crossovers with One-Punch Man, Squid Game, and DC's Superman and Robin, sparking excitement and debate among fans. Hype builds as major crossovers leak Reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX revealed on X that new collaborations will roll out this month, including anime hit One-Punch Man, the globally successful Squid Game, and new DC Universe content.
