‘Get a job': Nick Kyrgios' ugly feud with American tennis journalist intensifies

Tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg has told Nick Kyrgios to 'get a job' as the tennis star continues to take pot shots at the American reporter. The Aussie may not be playing at Wimbledon this year and was not retained by the BBC as a commentator but that hasn't stopped him from making headlines. Watch the biggest Aussie sports & the best from overseas LIVE on Kayo Sports | New to Kayo? Get your first month for just $1. Limited time offer. Last week it was revealed that the former World No. 13 has partnered up with Rachel Starr and fellow adult actor Sophie Stonehouse for brand new OnlyFans content, a series titled Smash City. Although the name may hint at spicy content it is anything but, with the four-episode show for OnlyFans TV a pickleball-based competition that sees eight OnlyFans creators compete for $20,000. However, away from his new venture, Kyrgios continues to take swipes at Rothenburg, most recently appearing to make fun of the journalist's physique. It all began when the popular tennis fan page 'Tennis Centel' posted a picture of the American journalist captured from behind on Sunday captioned: 'Bro Ben Rothenberg is built like a groundhog LMAO.' As the post gained traction, Kyrgios stuck the boot in, retweeting the post and writing 'Tennis central' But tennis fans were not amused, quickly denouncing his behaviour. 'Bully and nothing else. Just sad I used to support you,' one person commented. 'Fat shaming? Classy as ever…,' another added. While others wrote 'I used to admire you' and 'Dude you're 30, grow up'. In response to Kygious, Rothenberg wrote on X: 'Bro you have tweeted about me four times already this month and it's only July 6th. Let's work on getting you a job again.' But the Aussie couldn't help but to clap back again writing: 'Awwww Benny I'm doing just fine. Someone's feelings are hurting …. Not so fun anymore is it?' It is just the latest chapter in a bubbling feud between the pair spanning close to five years but has heated up in the last two years. The American journalist has repeatedly called for Kyrgios to be pulled from the air, most recently for controversial tweets demeaning a WTA player. 'Honestly a bit surprised to see ESPN didn't yank Nick Kyrgios off air mid-#USOpen final, seeing his most recent disparaging tweet about a WTA player circulating,' Rothenberg wrote last year during the US Open. 'Given his history of demeaning women, women's tennis, and WTA players, it was already a dubious choice to have him.' While Kyrgios remains sidelined through a recurring wrist injury, the 30-year-old has been doing work for TalkSport and continuing his commentary career on his YouTube podcast 'Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios'. He was, however, snubbed by the BBC for Wimbledon coverage this year, after being a shock inclusion in the commentary box at the All England Club last year. Responding to being overlooked he told The Guardian last month: 'I know I'm a great commentator. All I've done for 20 years is play, study and breathe this sport. 'I also think tennis needs commentators who say things that not everyone says. 'I understand they've got Chris Eubanks, but he hasn't beaten the greatest of all time multiple times. 'When someone's beaten Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic and has incredible insights, it's very strange you wouldn't want that person adding knowledge to tennis fans'.

Sad reality of resurfaced Julian McMahon photo days after his death

A decades-old photo of Julian McMahon has resurfaced following his sad death from cancer just days ago. In the photo taken in 2001, the Australian actor is seen with Charmed co-star Shannen Doherty, who also sadly died from cancer this same month last year – he was 56, she was 53. This heartbreaking detail is not lost on fans of the fantasy drama, who pointed out the similarities between the co-stars' deaths. 'Shannen Doherty and Julian McMahon from Charmed both dying from cancer in July almost a year from each other is so wild. May they both rest in peace,' one fan tweeted on X, alongside the photo of the pair snapped during the Television Critics Association Cable Tour in LA. 'I cannot believe we lost these two in less than a year,' another commented. 'This is so devastating. talented, beautiful, beloved and iconic actors of 90s/2000s. and we lost them way too young. rest in peace, julian mcmahon and shannen doherty.' 'I can't believe they're both gone, Julian McMahon and Shannen Doherty forever in our hearts,' yet another fan expressed, as one wrote, 'Shannen and Julian fought the biggest demon of all … cancer.' The pair starred on the Aaron Spelling-produced series for five years, with Doherty playing lead witch Prue Halliwell while McMahon played half-demon Cole Turner, the love interest of her sister Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano). Doherty even directed McMahon and the cast for two episodes of Season 3, titled 'The Good, the Bad and the Cursed' and 'All Hell Breaks Loose'. The pair also reportedly dated during Season 3 in 2001. But their romance was short lived when Doherty left the show. It was later revealed that she was fired due to her on-screen feud with Milano. At the time, McMahon was also going through a divorce from his second wife, Baywatch star Brooke Burns. He was also briefly married to Aussie pop star Dannii Minogue from 1994 to 1995. Away from Charmed, Doherty and McMahon starred on the 2001 TV movie Another Day, playing each other's love interests in the thriller. McMahon's Charmed co-stars were among the many to pay tribute to the star after his death from a secret battle with cancer. 'One of a kind is an understatement,' Holly Marie Combs, who played Piper Halliwell on the show, captioned her Instagram video montage. 'Your unyielding zest for life and crazy making sense of humour will be sorely missed. The joy and laughter you were the direct cause of will always be remembered.' 'I hope you find our lady friend and dance in those rose petals,' she added, referring to Doherty, who passed away on July 13, 2024. Milano also remembered her former co-star in an emotional post on Instagram. 'I'm heartbroken. Julian McMahon was magic. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up – not just with charisma, but with kindness,' she began in part in a lengthy statement. 'We spent years together on Charmed – years of scenes, stories, and so many in-between moments. He made me feel safe as an actor. Seen as a woman. He challenged me, teased me, supported me … Julian was more than my TV husband. He was a dear friend.'

Robert Irwin issues public apology to Coffs Harbour restaurant after failing to pay for his meal

Robert Irwin has issued a lengthy apology online after failing to pay for his meal at a NSW restaurant. The Australian wildlife warrior, 21, shared a video on Instagram directed at the owners of The Jetty Pavilion in Coffs Harbour, revealing his embarrassment over his recent 'dine and dash' at their eatery while road tripping along the east coast. Irwin said he stopped in Coffs for dinner over the weekend, where he ordered a takeaway salad and quickly became distracted by a flurry of fans wanting selfies. 'I went in there, and there was a lot of people who, you know, saw me and said g'day, and wanted to have a photo. But it turned into a bit of a frenzy … It was a bit of a flurry there for a moment,' Irwin began. 'Anyway, they got the salad done super fast, I made sure I said hi to absolutely everyone, 'Cheers, thanks so much, see ya later.' 'Then the next morning wake up and realise, I never paid for my salad! I just did the old dine and dash and didn't even realise. I felt terrible.' The I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! co-host said he quickly reached out to the venue and offered to hand over his credit card details to fix up the bill, as he'd already left Coffs at that point. 'They said, 'Don't worry, just leave us a good review.' I said, 'I'll do you one better!'' Irwin continued. 'There are eight million of you guys on here [Instagram]. Go and support the Jetty Pavilion. They are the absolute best. 'I apologise again. Today is not the day I start my life of crime, as much as the tabloids would love that.' The venue hilariously reacted to the video on its official Instagram account, revealing the salad at the centre of the great Irwin dine and dash scandal: A $26 Harvest Bowl. Owners Kyle Miller and Ben Hemsworth sat down for an interview with Today Monday morning, where they assured they had no hard feelings against Irwin for his slip-up. Quite the contrary, they say he's brought money-can't-buy exposure to their business and the area of Coffs Harbour. 'Unbelievable [exposure]. I was a bit in shock,' owner Hemsworth said on-air. 'I was expecting just to see 'Jetty Pavilion has a great salad' on a Google review, and then I got a message from my daughter saying, 'Oh my god, I saw the video!' And my phone just lit up.' The pair also cheekily put majority of the blame on their 'starstruck' waitresses. 'Some of the girls got a little starstruck and forgot to accept a payment, and they came and told me a little afterwards, and I said, 'Did you get his number?'' Hemsworth said, laughing. 'It's not very common for us to get a world celebrity in the door, so we can't blame the girls for that one, I guess he's a good lookin' fella,' Miller added.
