Rallying-Rovanpera wins in Finland as Toyota sweep top five
The rally was the fastest in world championship history, with Rovanpera winning for the first time in Finland at an average speed of 129.95kph over the four days and beating teammate Takamoto Katsuta by 39.2 seconds.
Eight-times world champion Sebastien Ogier completed the podium, ahead of Evans and Finland's Sami Pajari with Hyundai's reigning champion Thierry Neuville sixth.
Double world champion Rovanpera is now second overall, just three points behind Evans, and back in title contention after nine of 14 rounds.
"We really worked hard for this one, I was driving really on the limit this weekend and really pushing a lot. We really needed the points and it was good at the end," said Rovanpera, the first Finn to win at home in eight years.
The Toyota sweep was only the second time in world championship history, after Lancia in Portugal in 1990, that a manufacturer had filled the top five places.
Hyundai's previous championship leader Ott Tanak collected a five-minute penalty on Friday for an incident with a scrutineer and finished 10th, dropping to fourth in the standings.
The next rally is in Paraguay at the end of August.

Hamilton's former Mercedes boss Toto Wolff also spoke out strongly in the 40-year-old Briton's defence, calling his Saturday comments just "Lewis wearing his heart on his sleeve. "It was very raw. It was out of himself and we had it in the past when he felt that he underperformed his own expectations," added the Austrian. "He's been that emotional, emotionally transparent since he was a young boy, a young adult. So he's got to beat himself up. "He's the GOAT (greatest of all time) and will always be the GOAT and nobody's going to take that away." Wolff said also that he was sure Hamilton had unfinished business in Formula One, after losing controversially in 2021 what would have been a record eighth title, and still had what it takes. "He shouldn't go anywhere next year," said the Mercedes boss. "Brand new cars, completely different to drive, new power units... I hope he stays on for many more years and certainly next year is going to be an important one."

Chelsea sign Dutch defender Hato from Ajax
Chelsea have signed Dutch defender Jorrel Hato from Ajax Amsterdam for 44.18 million euros ($51.18 million), both clubs said on Sunday. Chelsea said the 19-year-old has signed a seven-year long deal and will join his new teammates this week. Hato was named Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year in the Eredivisie last season. Hato came through Ajax's academy and made his senior debut in January 2023, going on to make over 111 appearances for the club. Hato made his senior debut for the Netherlands aged 17 and has since earned six caps. "I'm very excited, I'm so happy to be here," Hato said. Ferrand-Prevot becomes first French rider to clinch Tour de France Femmes title
CHATEL, France :Olympic champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot became the first Frenchwoman to win the Tour de France Femmes on Sunday, pushing through three punishing climbs to win the final stage ahead of 2023 champion Demi Vollering, who finished second overall. The 33-year-old of team Visma–Lease a Bike held steady through the 124.1km ride from Praz-sur-Arly to Chatel, before launching a decisive attack in the last seven kilometres. Vollering (FDJ–Suez) stayed in a group with Ferrand-Prevot for the majority of the ninth stage, but could not break away to make up her deficit of more than three minutes coming into the last day. Ferrand-Prevot, who won gold in women's cross-country mountain biking at last year's Paris Games, had taken the yellow jersey from Kimberley Le Court on Saturday. Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx–Protime), who has led the points classification since stage three, did not chase the leading group and was on track to win the green jersey to deny Dutch compatriot Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike) a third Tour title in the category.
