In a shocking but confirmed announcement today, UFC President Dana White stated that the Ultimate Fighting Championship will mount its historic first-ever pro MMA event on the South Lawn of the White House for America's 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.
It would be streamed live on CBS as the ultimate cultural experience and the defining moment of the sport.
Negotiations underway for an unforgettable White House event
Dana White said he is in talks with President Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump, who will meet later this month to discuss logistics. Trump himself has suggested the idea of a large-scale battle taking place at a historical site. The announcement arrives less than one month after UFC signed a preliminary seven-year streaming deal with Paramount worth an estimated $1.1 billion per year that brings UFC content to Paramount+ with major events broadcast live on CBS.
When talking to CBS Mornings on this, White mentioned,
'It is definitely going to happen.'
He also said, '
When he (Donald Trump) called me and asked me to do it, he said, 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this.' So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings.'
Big money, bigger stage: The cultural and business impact
This is a collision of Washington pageantry and mixed martial arts, a riotous fusion of culture and commerce.

This new media deal marks a turning point for the UFC, leaping into mainstream entertainment by utilizing a legendary arena to promote eyeballs and big-name value. While the PPV model is still in play with the UFC, White insisted fighter pay will increase under the new template, and that the "right fights" could still command PPV prices.
That image of fighters warming up on the iconic White House lawn is a powerful symbol of just how far the UFC has come in the past decade, from fringe sport to global powerhouse.
But the event is also a point of contention: a hallowed cultural landmark to some, a weaponized exhibition to others.

What's next for the White House fight card?
At present, the fight lineup has not been revealed, with the event still in its early planning phase. Rumors are going about possible marquee clashes, ranging from heavyweight blockbusters to high-profile women's bouts, but nothing is officially locked in. Dana White and UFC matchmakers are calling the card a 'one-of-one,' highlighting its truly unique nature.
In the weeks ahead, as names and stories begin to emerge, fans and analysts will be watching closely. This could result in one of the most highly discussed events in the history of combat sports, blending the hardness for which the sport is known with the gravity of the quintessential American stage.

Roblox banned in Qatar over child safety fears as predator reports surface; users now call for Donald Trump to ban the game in the US

Qatar blocked access to the massively popular online platform Roblox on August 13, 2025, sparking shock among players. The move reportedly followed strong social media campaigns in Qatar, raising concerns over child safety, harmful interactions, and exposure to inappropriate content. These campaigns were largely led by YouTuber and streamer Schlep, who was recently banned from Roblox after exposing six alleged sexual predators on the platform. Now, the controversy is spilling over to the United States, where some internet users, mostly concerned parents, are tagging President Donald Trump on social media, urging him to ban Roblox nationwide. The situation has reignited global debates over online game moderation, safety for minors, and whether government intervention is the right approach to protect young gamers. Here's a breakdown of what's happening. Why did Qatar ban Roblox? Roblox allows millions of players to create, share, and play user-generated games. While this creativity is its main appeal, it has also drawn criticism over unsafe interactions, predatory behaviour, and inappropriate content slipping past moderation. In Qatar, these concerns escalated after viral posts claimed children were exposed to harmful situations in-game. The resulting public pressure reportedly pushed authorities to block Roblox entirely. Qatar has reportedly blocked access to Roblox Social Media calls for a US ban on Roblox Following the Qatar ban, some American users began tagging Donald Trump in posts, urging him to ban Roblox in the United States. Supporters of this idea point to similar concerns, especially around child exploitation and poor content moderation; however, many have argued it would be an overreach that punishes millions of safe players. Will trump ban in US Roblox? 🇺🇸 @realDonaldTrump I have a you ban Roblox in the United States of America? In your victory speech, you said America will be safe again, and taking down Roblox, a huge company with a reputation for putting everyone in danger, will certainly fill that.#Roblox I'm not a fan of Trump but I love Roblox BUT YES PLEASE BAN IT ITS GONE TOO FAR I'm pretty sure that Roblox will be ban in the united states of America for predator protection A pattern of global restrictions on Roblox Qatar's action follows similar bans in Turkey, Oman, and China. In each case, safety concerns and weak moderation tools were cited. Despite this, Roblox continues to grow worldwide, boasting millions of active players. The big question now is whether growing public pressure in the US could trigger political action similar to Qatar's. Schlep Roblox controversy explained Schlep, a 22-year-old YouTuber and former Roblox player, built a reputation exposing alleged child predators by posing as minors and catching offenders on camera. His efforts reportedly led to six real-world arrests and stemmed, in part, from his past trauma involving grooming on the platform. In August 2025, Roblox permanently banned him and issued a cease-and-desist letter, alleging his 'vigilante' methods breached community standards by simulating child-endangerment chats, sharing personal data, and bypassing official safety channels. The move ignited sharp debate over how best to protect children online, with voices like KreekCraft defending Schlep's intentions and many calling for more transparent moderation policies.

Racist Comments Flood Video Of US University Graduates Securing Top Tech Jobs

A video from NYU Tandon School of Engineering showcasing students securing jobs at tech giants like Google and Amazon sparked racist backlash online. The video showed an interviewer approaching students with a microphone during their graduation ceremony, asking them about their post-college plans and capturing their responses. Shared on Instagram by @nyutandon, the video featured students, many of whom appeared to be of South Asian descent, announcing their job offers. While intended to celebrate their achievements, it drew hateful comments on platforms like Instagram and X, targeting their perceived Indian or Chinese backgrounds. In the video, one woman said that she landed a software engineer role at Google, and another secured a position at Amazon in Seattle. Users noted the students' South Asian descent based on their appearance and accents, sparking debate. "Engineering students reveal their job offers in the tech industry," the video was captioned. Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by NYU School of Engineering (@nyutandon) Comments on Instagram and posts on X revealed a barrage of hateful rhetoric, with users mocking the students' accents, names, and ethnicities. Some expressed resentment, claiming that "foreigners" were "stealing" high-paying tech jobs from American citizens. One user wrote, "Indians and Chinese joining big tech giants in US, meanwhile Mr. Donald Trump." Another commented, "They are all Asian and they got a scholarship to study in America given by America, but American students can't get scholarships when their parents are the one paying taxes. It doesn't make sense to me." A third said, "Americans raise their kids to worship taylor swift and Beyonce while other cultures are raising tech powerhouses and scientists." A fourth added, "All these immigrants making amaerican great." The comments reflect a broader wave of anti-immigrant sentiment, particularly against South Asians, amid debates over skilled immigration and H-1B visas. Indians make up a significant portion of H-1B visa recipients--about 70% of the 85,000 visas issued annually, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services data.
