Samson Lawal: Played out of position and dealt with it magnificently as Livingston took all 3 points against Falkirk.Lewis Smith: "A brilliant strike" was how Sportscene commentator Jock Brown described it. A curled effort into the top corner, it was a stunning moment of quality from the former Hamilton Academical player. Looks like he is ready to take the Premiership by storm.

Roma make £20m offer for Manchester United's Jadon Sancho

Roma have made an offer worth in the region of £20million for Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho. The 25-year-old has failed to live up to expectations since making his hotly anticipated £73m switch from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford in 2021. Sancho has made just 83 appearances and scored 12 goals since making the move to United, who are hoping to get him off the books this summer. There have been recent whispers of a move to Serie A and it is understood Roma have made a bid to sign the England international, whose contract runs until next summer with an option for a further year. Sancho last appeared for United in the Community Shield last season, when his penalty was saved in the shoot-out loss to his former club Manchester City. The winger had returned having ended the 2023-24 campaign on loan back at Dortmund after being frozen out for claiming on social media that he had been made a 'scapegoat'. Those comments in September 2023 were in response to then United manager Erik ten Hag saying he had not reached the 'level' required to be involved in their squad at Arsenal. Sancho returned for last year's pre-season at United but went on to join Chelsea on a season-long loan, only for the west London outfit to pay £5m to get out of their deal to make the move permanent for £25m. The Manchester City youth graduate does not have a number at United and is one of a quintet of players that have did not train with Ruben Amorim's side during pre-season as they seek a move elsewhere. Homegrown forward Marcus Rashford was among them and last month sealed a season-long switch to Barcelona with the option to make the move permanent. United want £50m for Chelsea target Alejandro Garnacho, while exits have also yet to be secured for Antony and Tyrell Malacia following loans at Real Betis and PSV respectively.

Aberdeen discover Europa League play-off opponents as Dons face tricky tie

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT's been a tough start to the season for Aberdeen as Jimmy Thelin's men have lost BOTH of their opening games in the Premiership. But it's only going to get trickier for the struggling Dons as in a few days time they will begin playing two games a week - with European football on the horizon. 1 Jimmy Thelin will take Aberdeen into Europe this month Credit: Kenny Ramsay The Pittodrie side are guaranteed European football up until Christmas and perhaps beyond then - IF they qualify for the Europa League instead of the Conference League. Thelin and Aberdeen fans will know their exact fate by the end of the month - after their Europa League play-off tie over the next couple of weeks. And now the Dons' path to Uefa's second tier competition has become a little clearer - as they now know which club stands in their way. The Dons knew they would face one of two teams in the play-off round after the draw was made earlier this month. In terms of their European away day, Aberdeen fans were getting set to book a trip to either Romania or Kosovo, with FCSB battling it out with Drita in the third qualifying round. The winner of that tie would then travel to Scotland to face the Dons in the Granite City on Thursday, August 21, with the return leg pencilled in for the following Thursday, August 28. The third round tie was still very much up in the air ahead of tonight's second leg following last week's thrilling first leg, which ended in a 3-2 win for FCSB - who were at home. Now the tie has finally been settled following another win for FCSB in Kosovo - with Juri Cisotti and David Mirulescu scoring early doors to put the tie to bed. Drita did pull one back in the second half through Veton Tusha but it proved to be too little, too late as FCSB ran out 3-1 winners on the night in the end following a late goal from Dennis Politic. It will be the second time in a year the Romanian side visit Scotland as they took on Rangers in the Europa League last season. Aberdeen fans react to historic Scottish Cup win That was a comfortable win for the Light Blues - managed by Philippe Clement - as they came out on top in a 4-0 win at Ibrox. Aberdeen were guaranteed European football this season after they pipped Hibs to the coveted Europa League play-off spot by stunning Celtic in the Scottish Cup final in May. The Easter Road club would have been in this position instead for finishing third in the league IF Brendan Rodgers' men came out on top at Hampden. Three ways to watch Premier League football on TV this season for less

PREMIER League football is back with months of thrills, spills, VAR controversy and excitement . . . as well as helpings of despair! It is great to catch the action live but with tickets tough to get hold of, most of us will rely on small-screen coverage. Watching all the games on TV can still be pricey as they are spread across subscription channels Sky Sports and TNT Sports. So here's how to enjoy the beautiful game for less . . . TEAM UP: You are looking at an extra £48 a month to add a full sports package to a broadband deal through EE. Try cutting costs by paying only for the games you really want to see, and watching with pals. As the majority of Premier League games will be shown on Sky Sports, you could pay for a one-day membership of Now TV at £14.99 which shows the Sky games. Then take it in turns to host at home once a week. If there are four of you it cuts the cost of viewing a game to around £3.75 a time or £14.99 over four weeks. Or, if you are an EE customer, you can add TNT Sports for £20 a month then view on multiple devices. You could agree again to split costs with pals but make sure you decide ahead which and how many games you will watch together. HEAD TO THE PUB: Many pubs put on the top games for punters. Keep costs down by avoiding booze and opting for a soft drink. HIGHLIGHTS: You can catch highlights of Premier League games for free on BBC's Match Of The Day programmes on Saturdays and Sundays, and later via BBC iPlayer. The Premier League YouTube channel also shows highlights you can watch for free. There are also highlight videos that can be watched for free at All prices on page correct at time of going to press.
