Weapons, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes seized by Revenue in multiple search operations

Weapons, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes have been seized by Revenue in multiple search operations across Ireland.
Detector dogs Enzo and Ciara were on hand in Dublin and the Midlands last week examining parcels when herbal cannabis was found. The parcels originated from the USA, Belgium, Spain and Canada.
Overall €688,200 worth of contraband was found. Other discoveries were made in Kilkenny, Waterford and Rosslare Europort.
The alcohol consisted of beer and spirits. The various illicit drugs consisted of cannabis oil, cannabis resin, edibles, reefers, Alprazalam, Diazepam, Zolpidem, Zopiclone, MDMA, and nitrous oxide.
The counterfeit goods were branded Adidas, Asics, Boss, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Canada Goose, Chanel, Christian Dior, Chloe, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, New Balance, Nike, North Face, On Cloud Polo, Ralph Lauren, Under Armour, White Fox, British and Irish lions, Ugg, Hoka, Crocs and YSL.
The weapons consisted of a slingshot, a dagger stick and a rifle. The entire haul included:
17.79kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of almost €356,000,
nearly 20,000 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of €80,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €37,500,
3.8kg of butane honey oil with an estimated value of €76,000,
over 440g of MDMA over €26,500,
various other illicit drugs with an estimated value over €10,000,
25,180 cigarettes with an estimated value of over €22,700, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €18,000, and 467 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €117,000.
A Revenue spokeswoman said: "Investigations into all seizures are ongoing. These seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on 1800 295 295."
